Sisters trip

Beatiful home and very comfortable. Was disappointed there wasn't any muffins and donuts as mention for breafast, and the bathroom could of been a little cleaner.

Great Place To Stay!

My husband and I stayed with our two babies (ages 2y and 6m). We LOVED our stay here and would highly recommend! The house was clean and the perfect size for our family. We played in the back yard and explored downtown Laurel which is just down the road.

Neat little place with everything you need

We liked staying here. It has unexpected extras everywhere you look. It’s 5-6 blocks from old downtown in one direction and not too far from the main drag with all the chain food places in the other.

11 day stay

Nicely landscaped property in quite/safe neighborhood. Property on a side street that leads directly into downtown Laurel. Home has EVERYTHING needed for our stay. Central air, ceiling and box fans. Kitchen has first rate appliances including all cooking supplies. New washer and dryer. Comfortable bedding with king size bed. During our stay they were filming Home Town on the next block. No crowd...well...just my wife!

This was a very nice place decorated very well. It was one of the cleanest places that we have stayed in in a long time. plenty of supplies and sometimes that’s a rare commodity when staying anywhere. The property manager was very nice and accommodating and the host was very pleasant as well. Would stay again.

Cute cottage

Such an adorable home very well remodeled. Very clean and in order. The location of the home was a little scary at night and a lot of traffic. The description of the property was not accurate with the location of it.

Disappointed in the neighborhood

The house in itself was nice. Everything was clean and comfortable. The owner did a very nice job in making us welcomed. Was told the backyard was fenced in and pets were permitted. However, there was no gate on the back fence, so we could not allow the dog to play outside alone. The first day the neighbors two dogs were almost over the fence between the two houses. Spoke to the property manager and the dogs were secured by a rope. The blue house next door the siding was falling off and bars on all the windows, giving us an uneasy feeling. The rest of the block showed us four empty houses in need of repair, yet one block away the homes were very nice and here's where the homes were that were on Hometown show. House location was not far from Walmart or downtown area. The parade was great as well as the shops and everyone should take the Bolton Tour of Hometown. DJ knows his stuff. Sorry, but future visitors should be made aware of the neighborhood they're going to. Wish someone would have informed us VRBO

Safety for elders.

We would appreciate knowing about different levels inside before we came. Also the front door lock didn’t function easily. But having said that, everything was super clean, everything you could need and we’ll organized. The interior design was cute as can be. Nice to come home at end of day and relax!

Great House!

We had a great stay in Laurel, MS. The house was great and close to everything. It was super hot while we were there in July and the AC never missed a beat. We were actually cold at times. The house has everything you'd need throughout. They have the kitchen stocked, the bathrooms have extra supplies, the wifi is great.. It was a great experience. We would definitely stay there again.

One of the cutest VRBO's ever! Convenient to all of Laurel, MS

This home is so tastefully decorated! The host has everything you need in there. Snacks, several appliances for various coffee types and all the switches are labeled. Washer and dryer are like brand new. The bed in main bedroom is super comfortable. It is spotless clean! You can easily walk to downtown from here. In fact, you walk past several of The Hometown Makeover homes. Be sure to take the Bolton Hometown golf cart tour to find out which homes were featured on the show. We would stay there again!

About the host

Hosted by Carolyn Sue

Host profile image
Hi, I’m Carolyn Sue, and I’m proud to call Laurel, Mississippi, my lifelong home. This house has been a family home since the 1940s, and hosting guests here allows me to share not just a piece of our history but also the charm and warmth of Southern living.

I’ve always loved meeting new people, which is one of the reasons I enjoy hosting so much. When I’m not welcoming guests, you can find me baking something sweet in the kitchen, sewing a new project, or traveling to explore new places. Spending time with my family is my greatest joy, and I hope you’ll feel that same sense of togetherness during your stay.

Hosting is my way of extending a warm Southern welcome to folks from near and far. I hope you’ll love our home and Laurel as much as I do.

Why they chose this property

Nestled in the heart of Laurel, Mississippi, my home is surrounded by the charm and beauty of a classic Southern neighborhood. Towering oaks line the streets, providing shade and a sense of timelessness, while the houses nearby are full of character, each with its own unique story to tell. It’s the kind of place where neighbors still wave hello, and you can often hear the hum of laughter and conversation from porches in the evening.

What I enjoy most about this neighborhood is its welcoming spirit and proximity to so many of Laurel’s treasures. Whether it’s strolling through downtown to browse the shops, savoring a delicious meal at a local eatery, or enjoying the beauty of the nearby parks, there’s always something to see and do.

The neighborhood is peaceful and full of history, making it the perfect place to relax and soak in the slower pace of Southern living. I love hearing from guests about how much they enjoy the quiet charm and easy access to everything Laurel has to offer. It’s a special place, and I’m so happy to share it with others.

What makes this property unique

What makes this property truly stand out is its unique combination of historic charm and modern comfort. This home has been a family home since the 1940s, and I’ve worked hard to make it a warm, welcoming space for every guest. It’s not just a house—it’s a well-appointed retreat where you’ll feel right at home.

The kitchen is fully stocked with every item you could possibly need, whether you’re whipping up a gourmet meal or just brewing your morning coffee. Beyond that, I’ve included thoughtful extras like a toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and even a few living plants to bring a fresh, vibrant feel to the space.

With bright, plentiful windows and a spotless interior, the house feels light, airy, and incredibly inviting. Guests often tell me how much they appreciate the attention to detail and how everything they need is right at their fingertips. They share that they feel like they're staying with family, and that's the greatest compliment I could ask for.

I believe what really sets this property apart is the sense of home it offers. It’s not just a place to stay—it’s a place to relax, recharge, and create your own special memories.
