About this property

Snowmobile, Ski, or ATV Direct from This Cozy Cabin!

If you're into outdoor adventure, there's no better spot than at Trail's Edge Hideaway! This duplex cabin is literally steps from Bayfield County's incredible snowmobile, cross-country ski, and ATV trails. Valhalla Recreation Area, which features a ski jump, incredible XC and fat tire biking trails in the winter and hiking/mountain biking in the summer, is just up the road. Few other lodging options in the area make it so easy to get out and enjoy the hundreds of miles of trails. And if you happen to work up a thirst or appetite, the wonderful Pub & Grub bar/restaurant is a short walk (or ATV/snowmobile ride) from the cabin.

This listing is for Unit B of this duplex unit cabin. The cabin features an open plan living/dining/kitchen area with a comfy couch & chair, dining table with seating for four, fully-outfitted kitchen, and high-speed wifi that makes streaming your favorite content on the tv or your preferred device a breeze. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and second bedroom has two twin beds (all bedding & mattresses are also brand new!). The bathroom has a large shower. The cabin's set up is perfect for families as well as small groups of friends.

Your host runs Bark Point Ventures, a vacation rental management & concierge company that specializes in properties on Lake Superior's South Shore. She lives nearby and is available 24/7 to assist her guests. Our passion is ensuring guests experience the magic of what we feel is one of the most amazing places in the world.
The South Shore
The south shore is truly a place to get away from it all, but not so far from modern conveniences that getting food and gas feel like a chore. The guest book contains tips on all the incredible outdoor activities, local arts, and places to get groceries, dine out, grab a drink, etc. This is truly a year-round destination, whether you enjoy outdoor activities, local cuisine, art, or simply the company of friends & family in one of the most beautiful locations in the northern U.S.

The property is a perfect mid point between the most popular sights & towns in the area. It's less than 10 minutes from Washburn (which has a full-service grocery, nice range of restaurants, local shops, marina and beaches). It's about 20 minutes from Ashland, 20 minutes from Bayfield, 15 minutes from Cornucopia.

Due to the lack of public transportation and the distance between towns/amenities, a car is pretty much essential. But, on the plus side, traffic is not a concept we have up here!

Great time
We loved the location. We were able to snowmobile right from our lodging, the trails up there are amazing. We also went cross country skiing a couple times at Mt. Ashwabay and loved it. Lot of great places to eat close by also. We will likely be back.

Location! Location! Location!
Couldn't wait to review this place! Great little private getaway with super close proximity (20-30 min drive) to several area towns like Bayfield, Washburn, Ashland and only 30-40 min drive to other fun towns such as Cornucopia and Herbster making it very easy to go out and explore for a few hours. We visited these towns in late March (off season) so several businesses were not open for the season but enough were open to still eat good food and do some shopping. The cabin was better than expected! Very clean with comfy beds and super soft bedding! WiFi worked well! Enough room for a couple with 2 children or 2 couples if one doesn't mind sleeping in twin beds in the second bedroom. This is a duplex so you could also rent the adjoining cabin for a larger family. Kitchenette was fully stocked with everything needed but honestly we didn't cook because of the location of many local restaurants. There is a nice restaurant and bar at the top of the hill (walkable distance if you wanted) that has excellent service and great food!! Quad and snowmobile trails are literally on site and across the street. There is also a nice ski/snowshoe/XC ski resort 1 mile down the road! The owner of the property was very responsive and helpful answering all our questions! We would definitely stay here again!

It's all about the location
The cabin was exactly as described and had everything we needed. The location is one of the best we've experienced. A minute or less from a multitude of trails. I would recommend this cabin and would definitely stay here again.
