Nice quaint last minute getaway

We had a wonderful stay. Location was close enough to all the local activities but just outside the busy crowds and traffic. Cabin had a cozy feeling and a great loft area for our children which they loved.

Great Getaway

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. Since my brother got Covid and unable to come with us and ski with my son, we stayed at the cabin the whole time. It was wonderful. Kitchen stocked with pans so I could make all our meals. We even got a night of fresh powder delivered for snowman building and snowball fights. It was so cozy to return into the cabin after outside fun. The property managers were awesome to help us as needed. The remote didn’t work in the bedroom, which was a treat to have a tv there, so they brought new remote and got it working. I highly recommend ordering the fire wood as it made it so cozy to have the fireplace burning. Our dog loved it and I couldn’t get him in the car to leave for home. My only bummer is that we came in on the 38, which is right into the neighborhood. However, we had to drive all the way across town to sign in for our visit. Then drive all the way back to the cabin. That added an hour and half to our travel. But check out was a easy phone call.

Not great in the summer

So I had seen the one review that said they stayed in the summer and how it was too hot and they will return in the winter only, I agree. We stayed for a weekend in July and it was 90 degrees in Big Bear. I knew it would be hot in this cabin as there is no air conditioning. I thought I would just open the windows and it would cool the house down. Well, it did a little. There really isn’t any good circulation in the house. The front windows do not open and you only have a screen door for air. The inside of the downstairs all weekend was about 85 degrees and the upstairs was around 90 degrees. These temperatures made it difficult to sleep. The upstairs bedrooms have really short ceilings so my teenager and husband couldn’t really stand up all the way. The rooms upstairs are hot and have tiny windows. There are fans, but because of the lack of circulation, it just pushes around hot air. I gave the cabin 3 stars because we did have fun, but the temperature in the cabin made it uncomfortable and I want others to know the reality of this. The yard is wonderful for dogs/kids as it is completely enclosed with a fence. It is a quiet area, but the house is about 100feet from Big Bear Blvd so you can hear traffic sometimes. Overall we had fun, but I’ve probably rented 7 different cabins in Big Bear and this cabin was just okay. I’m not trying to complain, but I agree with the other reviewer that said some portable air conditioners or some swamp coolers would definitely help.

Great two day getaway

This is a clean, cozy little cabin. Nice quiet neighborhood. Big fenced yard if you’re bringing your Dog like we did. The cabin was immaculate. The retro kitchen was my favorite. They have all the modern amenities that you need. It was perfect for my husband myself two of my friends and my dog. The coziest little living room. They have a nice new flatscreen TV equipped with Netflix. There is a library of books, and a beautiful fireplace. I would definitely stay here again

Great dog-friendly cabin!

The property was perfect for what we were looking for - something small since there were just two of us, and dog-friendly. The gated yard was huge for our 2 dogs. One of mine is very small (5 lbs) and he did manage to squeeze himself through a gap in the gate fencing. Another dog-related note if you have a dog who is crafty like mine, two of the windows in the living room don't have screens. It was warm out so we had the windows open, forgetting to close them when we left. We kept the little dog inside when we were out due to the gap in the fence. He of course realized the open windows and jumped out and escaped. At least some of the neighbors were very nice and found him for us! Screens would be nice in those windows, also to keep moths and bugs from flying in (which they did) The kitchen is great and pretty much fully stocked (tupperware or glass containers with lids for leftovers would be great). The rest of the house looks exactly like the photos and we were very comfortable and happy staying there. Cool Cabins customer service was wonderful too! Note: If you are wanting to spend adequate time in or close to the Village, it's about a 15 minute drive from the cabin.

A Sweet Pine Cabin is exactly what it is.

A sweet pine is exactly what it is. We brought our 2 year old son and our doggy. The cabin is gated so this was an extra bonus so that they can safely run around the property. The inside was quaint, cute and very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again! Loved it!

Great property

We've always loved this cabin and will continue renting it on future trips. Our trip this time around however was not enjoyable due to the extreme heat wave that hit California that week. It seems that none of the cabins are equipped with air conditioning, and it's not something we thought of prior to booking. Once we arrived we realized there was no A/C, and we ended up feeling we were staying in a hot oven the entire weekend. This isn't the properties fault at all, as we should have realized this prior to our arrival. I feel that all cabins should be equipped with some kind of an A/C unit for hot summer days, even if it's just a couple of portable ones for the bedroom and living room. Definitely was not an enjoyable trip due to the extreme heat and discomfort we experienced the entire time but we'll be sure to book again in the winter ONLY :)

Great place if you have dogs

My German Shepherds loved the fence yard. Cabin was clean and everythIng it said in the description of the cabin. Only problem was the stairs are steep and the upstairs bedrooms are really for children due to the slant of the roof. You have to duck down not to bang your head. It is not a cabin for the handicapped.

Very nice cozy cabin

This was the second time we have rented the sweet pine cabin for the holidays. It has a huge fenced in yard for your dogs or kids. Inside it is cozy. Bathroom has a heater which is nice. My favorite is the kitchen. Love the old style stove and fridge. There is a small utility mud room off the kitchen. We open the doors for the dogs to go in and out. The cabin was clean and they have lots of extra blankets, board games and videos along with the WiFi and Roku. Village and hiking trail near by. Cool Cabins gave us dog treats and a bottle of sparkling apple cider when we checked in. Nice Touch!

A sweet pine

Cozy for a small 5 unit family. Kids enjoyed the fire place. Felt at home. Place was clean and well maintained. Can fit 6 people comfortably but wouldn’t recommend 6 adults. Did some skiing and tubing. Will be back again with the children.

Relaxing family time.

We had a wonderful time. The cabin was beautiful. I especially like the convenience of a fenced in yard for the dog. It has a utility room that leads outside to the yard from the kitchen. I just propped it open for the dog to go in and out while I was cooking it was perfect. I didn't quite give it the 5 stars only because it was a little small for us. The rooms upstairs are smaller, the ceilings are low and I have 3 tall young men that kept hitting their head when using those rooms. They also had a hard time in the shower. For younger kids it would be perfect. It was clean, had lots of extra blankets. The front porch was very nice too! It is close enough to everything but far enough so it's quiet and not so noisy. Truly a wonderful little place.

Nice Getaway

Absolutely loved A Sweet Pine Cabin. My husband had a night off so we decided to take our dogs for a trip. They never seem to get to go with us because we normally stay in hotels. They had a blast. The yard is huge and completely fenced in. There are also two big dogs that live next door that are very friendly. When we first checked it the upstairs was so hot that you couldn't even stay up there. Opened all the windows and doors to get a nice breeze and it cooled off perfectly in time to go to bed. The down stairs bedroom is right off the living room with a nice comfy bed. Upstairs there are two bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen size bed that it on the ground so be careful if you have bad knees. The other room has two twin size beds. My mom & dad and my mother-in-law came with us and they were all comfortable upstairs. It was really nice having a full kitchen to prepare meals. Only complaint there would be that they need steak knives. Very well stocked other than the knives. The old appliances added a nice quaint charm to the cabin. Love the stove and refrigerator. Will definitely consider coming back next time my dogs need a vacation.
