About this property

Whispering Oaks Cabin 13

Whispering Oaks is a cozy but large and modern 2-story home away from home, located on the Ouachita River and amidst the Ouachita Mountains with hiking/biking/ATV trails. The home has two full baths and will sleep 11 people. Three private bedrooms(king size, two sets of twin over full bunk beds, queen, and a Bunkie in the hall). The kitchen is fully equipped and has a dishwasher linens and towels are provided and it has a washer and dryer. Enjoy a large wrap-around deck, a hot tub under a gazebo, and an inside fireplace with a 50" flat-screen TV.

Great food just minutes from us but we are a dry county so you will want to bring your own or pick it up on the way.
We have 4 hiking trails on our property and there are other hiking and biking/ATV trails close by. We offer canoe and kayak rentals and horseback trail rides through the woods on the property. Our county is the Quartz Crystal capital of the world and has several local mines you can visit and dig.

Family Vacation

The house was pretty good. The appliances leave something to be desired. The refrigerator shelf in the door is broken and the middle shelf in the fridge falls. When you buy groceries for 8 people, you need all the room in the fridge. The microwave overheats and shuts down if it runs long, and the can opener (manual) is useless. It needs to be replaced. Also, the upstairs gets a little warm but that’s a two story house and is to be expected. All that said. It was still a GREAT place. The property was beautiful and the house worked well for 8 people. There are no surrounding lights so the nights are spectacular if you like star gazing and the river isn’t too far. If we go back, we would rent it again.
