Chic, newly renovated 2 bedroom ground level floor-through apartment one block from the subway and buses. This is a private apartment in a duplex townhouse, with a private entrance. Triple pane south-facing windows look out onto the street and front garden let the light in and keep the noise out. A spacious living room with sleeper sofa and open kitchen/dining area . The rear windows both lookout into the private garden in the backyard.

Our townhouse is perfectly situated on a quiet residential street in Brooklyn's hippest neighborhood: Williamsburg. 5 min walk to McCarren Park. 5 minute walk to Bedford Ave shopping precinct with Apple, Google, Hermes, Chanel, Levis, Birkenstock, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's Supermarkets and a plethora of VINTAGE stores.

The area is packed with great restaurants, Kings County Chinese (nouveau), Zona Rosa, Fette Sau, Montesacro, bars, deli's, bakeries and vintage stores. WIlliamsburg is an influential hub for indie rock, hipster culture and the local art community. We regularly host parents from all over the world visiting their children and grandchildren.

Subway proximity is the highest priority for New Yorkers. The L TRAIN (Lorimer St.) to Manhattan is ONE MINUTE WALK from our home then a 5 minute ride into Manhattan. Union Square/14st St in Manhattan is 7 minute ride on the L train. We are 20 minutes from downtown Manhattan, downtown Brooklyn, Times Square and Broadway Theaters. Closer still to the West and East Village, Soho, Tribeca, Union Square and 5th Ave via the popular L TRAIN subway line. The G TRAIN (Metropolitan Ave) to downtown Brooklyn/Queens is also one minute away.

The apartment can accommodate up to four guests: The main bedroom has a queen bed the second bedroom has adult level bunk beds. All with bedside USB and USC charging. There is also a queen sofa bed.

The entire apartment has new furnishings, linens and a fully-stocked kitchen. A perfect home base for your trip to New York City. Owners live on site, in a separate residence.

Brooklyn
We arrived on Christmas Eve night. We found the lock box easily with the keys inside. The apartment was just like the pictures. We used the blow up bed, it was comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped although we didn't cook. The shower pressure was great! The apartment was close to many good restaurants. You must eat at Kings Imperial Chinese, right around the corner. It was fantastic! There is a binder on the desk for visitors with a list of other places to eat in Brooklyn. Our son lives 2 blocks away so we will be staying here again.

Quick trip with kids
We spent 2 nights in December with 2 kids. It was very clean and included everything for basic needs. It was an easy walk to grocery store and subway. We were able to find parking on the block and also surrounding block (we had to move vehicle for street sweepers but that wasn’t a big deal) The owner Sean was very friendly and quick to respond to any communications. We discovered a newly opened restaurant Reunion that was the best mid eastern cuisine I’ve ever had! The owners did provide lots of information about local restaurants, the one we chose was closed on that day and Reunion was down the street. They also provided plenty of information about activities to do in and around the city, including specific excursions to do with kids.

Mother Daughter trip
We drove in and arrived a bit early and were greeted by the housekeeper. She was delightful and handed us our keys and we got settled. The apartment was perfect for the 2 of us. My daughter (17) slept on the air bed, which was so easy to set up in the living room and that gave each of us privacy at the end of the day. There is every food imaginable within walking distance. Think Coffee is a couple block away and delightful. We tried “Best Pizza” also and it really was great, very tiny venue but great experience. Subway is so close and easy to maneuver with maps on your phone. You put in “Times Square” and click on transit instead of drive and it will tell you trains to take and where to change. The top of the maps screens scrolls and gives you step by step directions. Makes it all so easy and takes the stress and guess work out of getting around the city. The gardens, front and back of the apartment are delightful to rest in and reflect or read a book. And last, the owners are very accessible but not intrusive. They are awesome to chat with if you have time and very welcoming to both their home and their city. On top of free parking nearby (in New York!) There is no downside. You will enjoy your time and this is a fabulous home base.

Quaint Brooklyn Apartment
Our party of 3 spent my 55th birthday weekend in this quaint apartment in Brooklyn. Sean's email with directions and suggestions is superb and we had no issues finding or entering the apartment. We were also allowed to leave our luggage there while waiting for check-in. This was very convenient as we arrived around noon. The apartment is spacious; especially compared to some I have stayed in. The bed was very comfortable as was the high quality air mattress. The kitchen is well stocked but we did NOT use while there. The L train is literally a less than 5 minute walk and takes you directly into Manhattan however it was down for weekend repairs. ( be sure to check with mta.info before you travel) We had purchased unlimited cards and while there are other trains going into the city the commute is much longer. With such limited time we ended up spending a good bit on Lyft and Uber. There were only (2) complaints I had and I emailed Sean. One was the heat is on one control located somewhere else in the building and it was getting very hot in our apartment. He offered to lower and said if it was too hot we would have to open the windows. There are screens and bars and we had no problem with doing so. (Not a big deal) I believe during the summer there is a window AC unit that you can control yourself. Pretty much all NY apartments have window A/C (I believe). Also the living room furniture is not as comfortable as we would have liked. After walking all day long you kinda want to be able to just hang out and relax. Sean seemed very receptive of my suggestions of a few more comfortable pieces. Overall we had a great experience with our Owner and we would like to rent the apartment again in the future.

Great place for the week!
This place made for a lovely week in New York. It really is super close to the city with many subway stations literally less than 2 minutes walk away. The place was clean, the bed was comfy. Like others have said, the bed is a bit loud and the apartment is a bit warm, but after a day or two you get used to both things. Sean was fast at responding to any questions we had. We would for sure recommend this place or stay here again ourselves! Thank you!!!!

Good location, adequate accommodation
Good location on pleasant, quiet street. Apartment was nice size. The kitchen was very outdated and the appliances definitely need to be replaced. Refrigerator wasn't even turned on upon arrival, old condiments were left in the frig, and the freezer had signs of mold. Stove wasn't much better. Cupboards were very old. Fortunately did not have to cook there.

Cute apartment that is close to restaurants, subway lines, and other fun, Brooklyn areas.
We stayed in the Garden apartment. We found it spacious and, more importantly, close to everything we could need. My friends, who stayed in Manhattan, came over and were blown away at how much space we had compared to their place. The apartment itself is old and cute. If you are looking for new, this isn't the place for you. However, it has character and plenty of room for 2 people. The shower is great, the bed is comfy, and the kitchen is nice. Even though we did zero cooking, it was nice to have a fridge. Now, a little about the location. This apartment is 1 block, on either side, from the G subway line and the L (which is a 5 min trip to Manhattan). The apartment is also 1 block from restaurants, grocery stores, and laundry. There is literally 3 pubs on the corner, across the street. It's around a 7-15 min walk to really good shopping, a cinema, and (more) fun pubs/restaurants. When I read the reviews on this place prior to booking I really didn't understand what an excellent location it is. Being that close to 2 major subway lines saved the day. We took the subway EVERYWHERE. We loved our stay at the Garden Apartment and we are now in love with Brooklyn. We would stay here again in a heart beat!

Good location, great checkin/checkout process
We stayed in the Garden apartment for 4 days and it was a great choice. Sean, the owner, is very organized with his instructions for luggage drop-off, checkin/checkout and all other information needed to make everything run smoothly. We had an issue with the aerobed, which was replaced on the same day. I would highly recommend this apartment!

Great location, great apartment
We had a long stay in the Garden Apartment - it was perfect for us! The kitchen had everything we needed and the open living room was just big enough to spread out and let our two kids play. In the evenings we would have a glass of wine on the front stoop surrounded by lush planters and watch our kids scooter around on the sidewalk. Three minute walk to the L and G subway. Short walk to McCarron park and/or Bedford Ave to be in the center of Williamsburg action. Gracious hosts and quiet street. Thank you for a wonderful summer!

Williamsburg Garden apt - delightful
My husband and I stayed here for a graduation weekend. The apartment was wonderful! From the welcoming flowers at the front entryway to the well stocked kitchen; everything we needed to make our stay comfortable was available. The apartment was clean, the shower was great, the location convenient to shops, restaurants and subway. As noted by others, the squeaky bed is a bother, but a minor one. We would wholeheartedly recommend and stay again.

Location could not be better
Sean and Brad really nailed it when they bought their home in Brooklyn. Easy, easy access to New York City. The photos do the apartment justice. We have only two recommendations - the heater is great, but there is no thermostat so we were not able to regulate it. The second recommendation has to do with the bed. It has a wooden frame which creeks loudly with any movement. Neither is a deal breaker, but both took some getting used to, at least for us. But as we say above, it was a great location and served our needs well.

The apartment was very clean and well equipped. The location was great!
We had a wonderful time during our stay. Sean was very helpful during our time there. The subway is a block away and it takes a short and easy trip to get into the heart of Manhattan. The East River is a nice and easy walk away with amazing night and day views of the Manhattan skyline. Make sure you look up Smorgasburg if you are there on a Saturday during the warmer months. Amazing food fair in Bushwick Inlet Park. Lots of great places to get food and coffee in the surrounding neighborhood. Brooklyn Brewery, one of the earlier microbrew outfits is also a short walk away. Highly recommend and would gladly stay again as a homebase to further explore all New York has to offer.

Wonderful Apartment in Williamsburg
My family thoroughly enjoyed staying here. It is a beautiful apartment with a very comfortable furnishings. It is a short walk to the main drags (there are a few) of Williamsburg, and a block away from the L line into Manhattan or deeper into Brooklyn. It is close to a few nice restaurants and to a hip Brooklyn club, Union Pool. We did not get to meet the host, but he responded within minutes, if not seconds, to texted questions, even late at night. We would happily stay here again upon our next trip to NYC.

About the host

Host profile image
The TIKTOK HOUSE BROOKLYN became famous for the video documentation of our lengthy renovation. We're entertainments professionals who have owned this home since 2010 and live with our adult daughter in the upstairs duplex apt. I'm from Melbourne, Australia and my husband grew up on a farm in Toledo, Ohio. We have LOTS of family and friends visiting us all year round to stay in our garden apartment and use it as their home-away-from-home. We love helping to stay in them find their way around the city and will gladly offer you a few suggestions about NYC as well.

Why they chose this property

The best thing we ever did was to move from Manhattan's Upper West Side to our Williamsburg townhouse in 2010. Our previous neighborhood was extremely busy and loudl with massive apartment buildings blocking the sun and sky. In Williamsburg you can see the sky and it's much quieter, filled with 3-story townhouses like ours where the neighbors still sit on the front steps and enjoy the street life.

What makes this property unique

What's great about staying in Williamsburg is the EASY access to all the major sites around NYC: Times Square, Broadway, Macy's, the Empire State Building, all the museums, Central Park and the Statue of Liberty. A real delight are the VERY walkable streets around us packed with cool bakeries, coffee shops and vintage clothing stores like Stella Dallas and Amacord Vintage, the perfect cappuccino at our local bakery Setti Pani side-by-side with the art galleries, restaurants and bars. Fun finds like the Quimbly book store and graphic comics books from around the world at Sparacino's on Metropolitan Ave.
