unexpected issues
The property manager contacted us the day of check in and cancelled due to a previous renter causing a leak (that is what he said but in driving by the property it looks like maybe it is a reno that just hadn't been completed, not sure). After discussion, he offered for us to stay at another property of his but for one less day than planned and farther away. The actual property where we stayed was nice. My only issue was that the mattresses were hard. My son-in-law and son found the mattresses comfortable but my daughter, husband and I took a day to get used to them. Some of the furniture seems used but most of the inside is very new (new floors, new master bath, new kitchen, etc.). They need to add a few towel bars and such but it has great potential. It seemed like it was in a pretty safe area, being very close to a military base. Lot's of conveniences near-by. I'm not sure that this review is helpful, though, because the actual place we stayed is not the property shown. I had asked for a correction to the listing be made but as of this writing, that hasn't taken place.

In town for the weekend
Overall, our stay was wonderful! The property was comfortable and peaceful. We had all we needed for a great stay. The check-in process was smooth and the home easy to access. We did not realize that someone lives in the private basement apartment. I had thought we would have the entire home, but reviewing the listing I think I just missed where the apartment is mentioned. So that was an initial surprise on arrival, but not an ongoing issue during the stay. Grateful to the host for the accommodations.

Family trip in Ellicott City
We had pleasant stay at the 5021 Orchard Drive property. It was close to The Ravens Stadium and restaurants in the area were convenient. There was plenty of space for our family to spend time relaxing between activities. It was a lovely neighborhood and we were able to walk with our dogs along the streets. The owner was prompt and responsive to our messages and we were able to check in and out with ease. If you are looking for a good location and a spacious property, this home fits the bill.

My Maryland Stay
Overall the family was comfortable staying in this quaint cottage home. If you are looking for a quiet and beautiful neighborhood 5021 Orchard Dr., in beautiful Ellicott City is a place I would recommend. It is conveniently located to shopping areas and downtown Baltimore. Just make sure you read the details of renting this cottage because there is a tenant living in the basement who by the way did not bother us at all.

Calming and quiet
This beautiful and simply modern furnished house was a dream to stay in. Four friends stayed for a nearby conference. The kitchen was well stocked, and the beds were all comfy. The best part though was three parking spots and a large backyard to look out on. The neighborhood was always quiet (yay!) and we all got good sleep. I walked the neighborhood each day and felt completely safe as a woman. One thing that was not really spelled out in the photos - the bunk with a double and twin was on the first floor with one bathroom, and the King and Queen beds were upstairs in two rooms which shared the second bathroom. This worked fine for us, but might not meet everyone’s needs. When we have another conference nearby, we will definitely stay here again.

Guests have private access to the main level, 2nd floor, mudroom, and deck. There are three parking spots. Enter through the side door which leads into the mudroom. The basement is converted to a totally separate apartment with its own kitchen, laundry, full bath and entrance. No shared spaces at all.
