Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of The Beach on Longboat Key #224 will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center.

We were provided alternate accommodations. It was not as updated as the pictures of the original booking. It was clean, but everything, furniture was old worn and dingey. It was supposed to have been less expensive but due to county fees cost as much as the original booking?

Beach vacation

We have stayed at The Beach many times and will return. The unit was clean and well stocked. I do like that there is no daily housekeeping now, we did not run out of anything in our week stay. The walkways and stairs however were very dirty, the step treads were black. The north stairwell had a sort of dirty odor too. Looked like the facility just needed a little TLC on the exterior. Amazing stay though and will be back again. Also, will refer others to The Beach.

Would Never Ever Recommend

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Steps to beach only thing going for unit, but not even that makes it worth stay. NOT as advertised. Pictures prove it, happy to send. Owner should be ashamed, held accountable. Difficult to find assistance based on lack of Resort by RVA staff on site, office often locked during business hours. When located, response wholly inadequate. At check in, not provided copy of rental agreement. Before entry, told unit needed work, Upon entry, found peeling unevenly colored paint, wall damage, rusted bathtub and fixtures, damaged crumbling door and window casings, broken shade and holes where curtain may have been, different furniture with rickety and missing pieces, burned out interior and exterior lights, bedroom hot, smelly gooey mold in kitchen drain that didn't drain unless disposal on and caused living area to smell, etc. Inadequate kitchen with dirty and/or rusty items, 2 spoons total, etc., couldn't use as planned. Questionably clean linens, had to change, no fitted sheet. No pillows to use sofa bed. Above all else, absolutely filthy, sticky surfaces and even candy wrapper next to bed. Asked staff if cleaners working in complex at check in could at least clean floor. Told yes, never happened. Later told had to physically be in unit for this. Ridiculous for regular unit cleaning and maintenance. Asked for exterior light replacement to see entry door lock and use balcony. Vague response, never happened. Told no pillows for sofa bed despite new pillows in office. Smoker outside below extremely unpleasant, not family friendly community oriented, could smell in unit. Moreover, unit priced higher than other much nicer units in complex. No one in office at check out, but saw Resort by RVA rep getting into truck. Listed some complaints, but checked out with him fast to make flight. Would have reviewed and provided list and pictures sooner, but shortly after stay father twice admitted to hospital then discharged to my care.

The staff was great The location was very good It was wonderful to look out on the water But the room itself was dated, badly in need of a coat of paint, the bathroom tile needed grout, the tub water was only moderately warm, the floor tiles in spots were cracked, the kitchen cabinets were in need of fresh stain. The kitchen utensils provided a poor assortment of silverware and pots.

Great Location near Sarasota airport but quiet and relaxing!

The Beach condo complex was small, quiet, and relaxing with wonderfully close beach access and a great view out the 2nd floor porch window. The complex was a little older but well maintained. The only surprise was that the washer and dryer was only one for the complex of 10-12 units and was centrally located on property like a laundry mat.

Nice facility, great location, much smaller than anticipated.

The condo was in good shape overall, and the facility was pretty well maintained. The pool was a good temperature, the beach clean (and close!), and the laundry facility on-site was convenient. However, the washing machine in particular was quite dirty, and the stairs/walkways could use a good pressure-washing. The beach was very private, which was nice, and was not very busy - however it was December. Management and staff were friendly and accommodating. The biggest issue I had aside from the cleanliness was that the condo was much smaller than I expected. The "bedroom" was just big enough to fit the bed - very little room to move around it, and the living room had to be rearranged to get the pull-out sofa bed extended. We made it work, but for a family with two adults and two kids under 8 years old, it was a little tight. It also would have been nice to have access to a vacuum and/or broom to clean the floors - after a day of beach-going, it was pretty sandy in the room. I would stay here again, but probably not with my kids along for the ride.

The location is fantastic. If you’re looking for top of the line luxury, this may not meet your need. If you’re looking for comfortable and very relaxing, this can’t be beat. We had one minor issue and management handled it very quickly on a holiday weekend. We have no complaints whatsoever.
