Chung Cottage
This family-friendly property features a large fenced yard and a covered outdoor dining area. Located a short walk from beautiful Hanalei Bay and also close to Hanalei town with lots of shops, restaurants, food markets and the public Kauai Bus stop. One bedroom, one and a half bath. There is a Queen bed and a single bed in the guest bedroom. The living room couches are also single beds - with sleeping for 5 guests. The Cottage comes fully equipped with a kitchen, full size washer/dryer, a flat screen TV and DVD player, and WiFi. There is also a Weber charcoal grill (and a great fish market located in Hanalei town) and beach chairs, mats, and beach towels.

Space is very clean and comfortable. Just what you need after being outside all day enjoying Kauai. You can walk anuwhere in Hanalei, the town center or shopping and eating while only being a block away from the bay. I’ll be back!👏🏻😃🌺

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Victoria and I have stayed in the Chung Cottage every year at this time with very few exceptions since the year 2000. It remains the perfect size, perfect location and perfect arrangement for relaxation and for our individual work situations. We enjoy the song birds, White Rumped Shamas and even the Doves. It is very easy to walk to the beach, or to downtown Hanalei. The Cottage is clean and well maintained. We had another very good stay in 2024.

It did not disappoint. Yes, it is rustic, but it has this authentic beachy-vibe to it that we really liked. It was comfortable, VERY CLEAN, and we enjoyed sitting under the covered area to enjoy the wonderful breezes that seemed to funnel its way into this covered area, and we really wished that there were hammocks to further enjoy this space (perfect for afternoon siestas!).The other wish we had was that the outdoor shower had an enclosure so that you could take a shower without your swimsuit on.Very pleased with our stay, and we would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Hanalei without breaking the bank.We will definitely be back!!Erin S.Lacey, WASept 22-27, 2023One more thing: the folks at Na Pali Properties are fabulous. Perfect Cottage in Paradise
This was me and my husband’s 8th trip to Hanalei but first time at Chung Cottage. The location of the house was excellent-equally a quick walk to the beach and to town. The house had a very Hawaiian feel, cute and funky. It was larger than the pictures show and my husband and I made full use of the different areas to sit and relax. The kitchen worked great for meal prep and we were glad to find beach equipment. There’s limited options for a 1 bedroom in Hanalei and I’m glad that the home worked out perfectly as we would definitely book again. Check in and check out was easy, there’s nothing to improve on. Mahalo and we look forward to returning!

Chung Cottage for the win!
Great little cottage in the heart of Hanalei. Perfect location and this old school cottage makes you feel like you step back in time to what Hanalei used to be. Big yard for the kids to play soccer and games, nice lanai with views of mountains, close to beach & restaurants. A little rustic but a great deal $$$ in Hanalei.

It has everything one needs for a relaxing tropical stay. The interior is a bit dark through the natural wood paneling but the main living room kitchen combo is quite cozy and the glass shutters all around the house help air circulation. Would stay again.

Chung Cottage
This cottage is super cute and they pack a lot into a small space. I came with my husband for our honeymoon but I can see how the place could sleep 5+ I will say this is not the stay for you if you plan on cooking during your vacation. While the stove works and the fridge is sizable there is no oven apart from a toaster oven that zapped my husband and I when we tried to use it, and the kitchen isn’t lit super well for cooking. The kitchen also doesn’t have a dishwasher or a ton of dishes if you do have a bigger group. For us this worked because we either ate out, had cereal, or had poke where we just needed a fridge and a microwave for rice, but it is something to be aware of. Proximity to the beach is fantastic and Hanalei Bay is warm and safe to swim in in October. We also loved being close enough to town that we could walk.
