Charming 1 bedroom, 1 bath, vintage Hawaiian style cottage, located just off the main road with hedges providing privacy. A private and romantic location with palm trees surrounding the expansive yard. This serene setting is perfect for a honeymoon or romatic getaway. High Speed WiFi Internet Service. A Weber Charcoal BBQ Grill, Outdoor Shower, Covered Lanai with day bed for lounging, a very quick walk to Hanalei Bay or to restaurants and shopping in Hanalei town. King bed in the roomy bedroom. Newly painted interior and cabinets have given this sweet cottage new life.

Plantation Cottage Review

Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time staying in the little cottage just across the road from Hanalei Beach and within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. It is an old structure, but so too is Hanalei--that's part of its charm, so it fits in well. It is hidden down a driveway and behind another property, so private and quiet, but with plenty of outdoor space. We were very happy to be staying there, quiet and peaceful. And it grew on us, the longer we stayed.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unfortunately we were there when the property next door was being remodeled, interior and exterior and landscape. We booked a ten day stay which included 1 weekend (when the remodeling work was not happening) so we had a total of 2 quiet days to relax, hear the wind and waves...very disappointing!Years ago we had stayed here and it was fabulous. The interior and furnishing are very old and used and could certainly use an update. Kitchen knives were useless, old, not sharpened and dirty. The knife "block" was pretty disgusting. A hard plastic chopping block would have been nice to have. Some simple tupper ware containers of various sizes would been nice to store uneaten meals or food. The bathroom sink did not drain well and the living room was not lit well and difficult to read abook in durin.g the evening

Winter in Hanalei

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our trip to Hanalei was elevated by staying at the Plantation Cottage. Tucked in a secluded driveway off Weke Rd. next to the beaches Hanalei Bay, the cottage is situated in a large, private landscaped lawn, giving us ample space to unwind, relax and simply be without intrusion. Entering the cottage, we were greeted with an open-air design with lots of screened windows to allow sunshine and breeze into the interior. The living room featured comfortable bamboo furniture and the bedroom was well-apportioned with a cozy California-king sized bed. On the spacious lanai, outfitted with an oversized futon and fans overhead, we enjoyed breakfast of local coffee, granola and fresh fruit. After breakfast, we gathered up beach towels, straw mats, and folding chairs, all supplied with the property. We were happy to have options to choose between walkable beaches, as the cottage is located between the pier and beach park, both with the best swimming spots in the bay. After sunning and swimming, we retired back to the lanai for afternoon drinks and snacks of fresh poke and sushi from the Dolphin Fish Market. In the evening we utilized the charcoal grill for fresh ahi and mahi mahi, cooked in banana leaves for an extra island taste factor, and fresh local produce for dinner. During our stay, we recommended the place to dear friends who also enjoy a slow pace and tranquility when traveling for pleasure. We are grateful for the communication and responsiveness of the kind staff at Napali Properties, who exemplify the aloha spirit. We look forward to booking with them again as we plan our next stay at the Plantation Cottage.

Lovely location with large private yard

The cottage was in a good location, close to the town of Hanalei. I had neglected to look at the fact that there's no AC or heat/cooling pumps, just fans and screened windows. Hence we suffered a bit from the heat, but overall this cottage has a lot going for it. There was some construction noise as early as 7am from 2 neighboring properties, but this won't always be the case.

Great stay

We spent a week in this house and it was wonderful. Super clean, comfortable and peaceful. First time in Hawaii and it felt very authentic. 5min walk from the beach but you can hear the waves crashing from the property. Highly recommend - would stay there again.

So close to the beach!

We spent a lovely week here. 5 minute walk to the beach, 10 minute walk to Hanalei village. The cottage had everything we needed for a beach day. Very private and relaxing. Can’t wait to return!

Perfect location for a couple

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in many rentals along Weke Road and Plantation Cottage has become one of our favorites. The beach is a block away thru the pavilion, an easy walk - frankly not much further than the walk to the ocean from some of the larger houses on the beach side of the road that are set a long way back from the waves. The cottage does not have a view from inside, with hedges on all sides around the very large grassy area, but that also means it is isolated from any noise in other houses or from traffic on Weke Road - quiet and private! It's an easy walk to town. The cottage is well maintained and stocked, with a particularly lovable covered lanai with a bed converted into a comfy place for afternoon naps (or even sleeping outside on warm nights), plus chairs and small tables outside for lazy afternoons. The wifi has been upgraded to a high speed connection. The bedroom is more spacious than other 1 or 2 br units along Weke Road. The kitchen and living room are a single large area; everything worked in the kitchen, with nothing missing that we noticed. A lovely place to stay in Hanalei!

Paradise!

Darling, peaceful cottage on very large private lot across from beach. Perfect for a romantic getaway! Of note- we did leave our snacks on the counter that invited the sugar ants. We kept them at bay by cleaning the counter daily and moving the snacks.

Perfect Couples Getaway at this amazing Hanalei House!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I went to Kauai 5 years ago for his birthday and stayed in Princeville. We spent a day in Hanalei and absolutely fell in love. We knew when we returned we wanted to stay in the bay, close to the beach. This location is a short walk to the pier or another near by public beach access, and a short 10 minute walk into town! It is perfect for walking off a Pokè lunch or dinner from one of the many amazing restaurants in Hanalei. The house has lots of amenities; a Brita for refilling your water, beach towels, washer and dryer (came in handy after our Kalalau Trail hike!) and our favorite ... the outdoor shower. This was a life changing vacation home experience and we can’t wait to return to this perfect house!

Premium Prices old cabin

Reviewer Comments: We've been traveling to Kauai multiple times a year for a decade. We wanted to spend a week right off of the beach in the sleepy little walkable town of Hanalei. There are very few vacation properties in Hanalei for a couple to rent and we felt that we scored on this little cottage. Upon checking in we discovered a very dated kitchen and bathroom. This would be FINE had we not paid a crazy premium to stay in Hanalei. We saw cockroaches almost daily in the kitchen which caused us to wash each dish before using it. We decided not to cook any food as a result. Not our first time at the island bug rodeo but I also expect a home of this price to have figured out how to keep the roaches out. The kitchen was dated and certainly did not make cooking very desirable. The bathroom shower hosted a centipede/scolopendra so we chose to use the outdoor shower instead. The next door neighbors partied every night at the Plantation until after midnight each night.. the sounds of bass bumping each night vs the sounds of ocean waves breaking as we hoped. I could have called to complain during our trip but we were doing our best to avoid confrontation and put out that energy. Upon our return, I followed up via phone and email to Na Pali Properties to discuss our trip and to give some advice for this unit and never heard back. I also discovered after we returned that there was an optional trip cancellation fee that we paid and we certainly would not have paid this fee had I realized it. One last thing - there is no immediate beach access from this unit. You have to walk 5 mins down the road to the park to enter the beach. We ended up still driving there because of beach chairs, cooler, etc. Overall it was fine. Was it worth the money - absolutely not.
