This cottage was perfect for our needs. Very comfortable and cozy. Our dogs had a fenced in back yard to run and play. Gary was very accommodating. My husband and I needed a few extra days for family business which Gary made super easy. Thankyou Gary!
Had my family stay here for the weekend since our house is too small to sleep everyone and it was a great spot for them! With their dogs they appreciated the fenced in yard and ample floor space in the living room. My niece really enjoyed the bunk bed!
Gary was great to work with. Very flexible with our family's needs during our stay. Clean cottage with plenty of space. It had everything we needed. Good location with easy highway access and lots of nearby restaurants and grocery stores. Highly recommend!
Ideal for Our Stay – Cozy, Safe, Pet-Friendly, and Well-Located
We stayed at this charming home for 8 weeks while my son completed an outpatient medical program, and it truly provided a much-needed sense of comfort and stability during a chaotic and stressful time. The house was well-equipped with everything we needed, and the peaceful, quiet neighborhood made it feel safe for me and my two little ones.
One of the highlights was that the owner is pet-friendly, so we were able to bring our dog along. It was such a relief to have her there, and I believe her presence helped my children feel more at ease. The backyard was a great feature, with a secure chain-link fence, which allowed our dog to roam freely. Though there were a couple of spots small dogs could potentially slip through, my 65lb dog was perfectly safe and couldn’t get out, so I never had to worry.
There were a couple of typical home-related issues that arose during our stay (internet and plumbing), but the owner responded immediately and handled everything beyond our expectations. It’s clear he takes great pride in maintaining the property and ensuring guests have a positive experience.
Overall, I highly recommend this home for anyone in need of a comfortable, pet-friendly place to stay in a safe and quiet neighborhood. It truly made our stay much easier during a challenging time.
We were looking for a quiet place to stay with our 2 small dogs. The house was comfortable and had almost everything we needed. Our dogs are older so we had to bring them with us. They enjoyed the walks around the neighborhood each morning. The lake is beautiful, but we had to walk all the way to the boat launch area to get away from private properties. There is a fence but it isn't completely enclosed, so we had to keep our pups on leashes. We explored the beautiful towns of Howell and Brighton and even went to Canton. Quiet and comfortable area and neighborhood for our break away from hectic life.
We made a quick weekend jaunt to visit family in town. Host was really quick with responses. We didn’t spend much time at the home but when we were there we had everything we needed!
Cozy little cottage. Well stocked kitchen, relaxing living room, comfortable sleeping quarters. The water smelled funny to me and felt a little oily. There is a water filter attached to the kitchen sink, but water just trickles out. I would stay again, but I'd bring water.

About the host
Hosted by Gary A Spisz
I am a professional firefighter and I manage rentals and sell real estate when Im not firefighting. I was born in Michigan and lived here most of my life except a year in Tahoe and 5 years in central Florida. I love the summer, the lakes and traveling south for the great weather in the winter and I also like to snowmobile and snowboard out west. The summers here are often spent out on the boat every minute possible.
Why they chose this property
I love this neighborhood because it's a lake neighborhood on Lake Chemung and centrally located between Brighton and Howell with all of their endless amenities.
What makes this property unique
This property is quiet with a fenced in yard. Access to 96 is right outside the neighborhood which can lead you in any direction with 23 just a few miles away. Not to mention access to beautiful Lake Chemung just down the street.
