Our stay was amazing, we stayed from 2/5-2/10. Heat worked great and place was clean and very close to town. Would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again.
We enjoyed the location as a great central point for all the Black Hills sites. The cabin was a nice size for our family of four, with beautiful surroundings. It was clean with comfortable beds and furniture. We would stay here again if returning to the Black Hills.
Location and size of cabin was perfect!! Beds and living room seating were very uncomfortable and there were a lot of flies in cabin !! Probably would stay there again just because of the location!!
Very clean, I would stay again. A couple things that could be improved, outside lighting, bed comfort. The beds were hard, and there was no outside street lights, the one at the end of the road was burnt out. Its great for star gazing. 😁
Great location. Peaceful, scenic valley and out of the way from all the tourism in Hill City. A few things would make the cabin much more comfortable would be to invest in good beds and better sofa seating.
We loved our stay at the Canyon Wren! It was just right for us. It was clean and cozy. Loved the community feel and the short drive to Hill City. Was close to trails and attractions. The 2 decks was perfect for outdoor seating. Thank you for a great experience.
Great location between Spearfish Canyon and Custer State Park. The cabin was cozy and clean, and everything worked as expected. We spent more time outside than in. Michelle was responsive and flexible, and made our stay very enjoyable. Thanks again,
Tony
The cabin was very clean and has a lovely location. The only thing that was disappointing was the lack of storage for clothes. There were no closets or wardrobes to hang clothes in.
Nice cabin, but only gave it a 3 for a few reasons. When we arrived there was no heat on anywhere in the cabin, it was 45 degrees inside and 15 degrees outside. It took a LONG time to heat, we were cold most of the first night.
If it’s winter in SD, you leave the heat on. The heater in the bedroom wasn’t working and I contacted management and someone did come and fix it thankfully. The other reason is because we couldn’t use the bed in the couch because it had dirty sheets and dog hair all over it, absolutely gross. We had one child that had to sleep on the couch instead of the bed because of this. Also, the silverware drawer is broke and falls back every time you try to open it, had a child that caught his finger in it the first time he opened it, needs fixed. It was nice but the housekeeping could be improved. Also, it needs Kleenexes and coffee filters.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Pretty good
The futon couches are horrible and hard to relax on. The garbage was by the front door and drew flies and a bucket of cigarette butts when you step onto the porch. Maybe a better cleaning service would help that? Other than that it was a neat little place to stay at with a good location.
