Excellent location

We enjoyed our stay at the fox paw. The location was great very close to the village. Cabin was cleaned when we arrived, just some stains on the carpet upstairs but nothing major. We enjoyed our time at this cabin and we thank you for letting us rent with you. My husband was amazed and the kids enjoyed the pool table and foosball table. I do recommend to check the front porch light as it was not working for us and gets really dark at night could not see the stair very well, also the master bed balcony please check that light was not working. Other than that we enjoyed the time here and we will be renting out this cabin again when we return to Big Bear. .

Great Location! Very Spacious house + got to bring our pup!

So glad we found a place close to town, food, shops + ski resorts. We got to bring our dog which is great because she is part of our family. Large kitchen so stop at the store and bring groceries in :)

Big Bear Cabin

The experience in this cabin was average. It was not very clean, there were cobwebs on the ceiling and dust on the fans, the curtains and some of the linens were also stained.

This place is close to a gem

If you are looking for a great family cabin in a convenient location then this is it. Some of the reviews that are not so great may be true but this is a very popular rental and for a rental that accepts dogs I don’t think standards can be held too high. The carpets are pretty grossly stained and the floors might leave your feet black but the house smells very clean. The backyard is all rocks and dirt which was disappointing at first but then if your dog digs a hole it’s not going to matter. I was disappointed when I got there I had to pick up 13 piles of dog poop and some trash in the backyard before allowing my dogs to go out there but I’m not sure what the rules are when you leave for that I would think people would pick up after their dogs but you know how that goes. There was also 14 of the largest bags of trash lined up along side of the house when we pulled in and even though I expressed my concerns no one came to pick them up during our stay, I thought that was kind of gross to see what messes and trash was left behind by the people that stayed before us. There is no access to the hose, it’s locked, which was an inconvenience when trying to rinse everyone off after going to the beach. I would bring extra towels unless you want to do some wash while your there which is possible with the washer and dryer. There is one screen door missing but the place stayed very cool during the day with the windows open minus that door. There were a lot of things available for your use which I thought was nice, like complimentary spices and soaps and coffee etc (just bring coffee filters!) I was impressed with how much the kitchen had to offer, maybe not enough for large families but for our family of 4 it was perfect. Also I was pleased with how many EXTRA blankets and Pillows there were that was surprising. All in all the house is beautiful, vaulted ceilings nice size great room and table, big deck sunshine coming through every window very warm and cozy feeling. The house could use a good cleaning especially the lights and fans but according to my husband my standards can’t be kept that high for a rental that allows dogs.

Great location, bright, well equipped, very comfortable

We were so happy with this house! It is in a great location, close to everything. We picked it mainly because we could bring our dog and because of the pool table in the game room/garage. The house is filled with sunlight, the beds are not the most comfortable, but we’re fine for a few days for sure. The kitchen is really well equipped. The open concept living space is ideal, we also enjoyed eating on the patio. Cool Cabins could not have been more friendly or accessible. I would definitely consider renting this home again.

Nice home but pricey, some ticky tacky comments to follow..

Overall good experience. However the house had about 8 light bulbs that were out which made walking around at night a little difficult. The "instruction folder" was outdated so we didn't know how to connect to wifi or work any of the TV's. The house is actually listed for sale right now so maybe less attention is being paid to it by the owner. I added the "romance package" because it was my wife's birthday and they didn't have flowers or chocolates set up when we arrived. If you do add anything on I would call "Cool Cabins" ahead of time to confirm they received your request. Lastly, we texted as instructed after we got back on the road to home about our check out (at 8:30am) and I received a call at 2pm (I was at my open house in Orange county) from the admin that because we had not asked for a late and were still at the house we were going to be charged extra. Not sure if there was some kind of misunderstanding because I double checked the number we text and it was the correct one that we gave us. Don't mean to be too negative because the home was actually pretty nice, close to the Village (long walk though would suggest Uber) and was very well maintained with a fun garage that had Foosball and Pool. Some minor details that could make this a 5 star rental pretty easy.... Hope this helps !!

A wonderful place for us and out pets!

The property was perfect for my mom and I and our 3 dogs. The front porch light didn't always work, but I think it was user error. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner, and found every thing we needed to cook. We'd gladly stay there again

Perfect with all the amenities - Centrally Located

We loved the home. Perfect space for a family of 5. The kids loved playing pool in the garage. The snow-filled backyard was perfect for our dog. We cooked, made a fire, BBQ'd outside and filled up the tub with a bubble bath. Great memories made and we didn't have to travel far to ski and go tubbing. Everything was clean. Definitely planning on staying again!

Clean and great location, few mishaps

Overall we had a nice stay at the Fox Paw! The neighborhood is great with prime location to checkin and the Village / marina. The Pros: - Clean - Well equipped kitchen - Fun game room in garage - Prime location - Spacious rooms The Cons: - Pillows were very uncomfortable, bring your own! - The "second bedroom" does not have a full wall - it has a large cut out that looks down onto the family room so noise and morning light carry through. - The master bedroom has a large slider out to a balcony, which is great! But, the white sheet curtains in place offer no filter to the constant street light and headlights shining in lighting up the room numerous times per hour through the night, making it difficult to fall asleep. - Creeky master bedroom floors make walking without waking up the kids in the loft a tricky task! Overall our experience was positive with quick responses to a service need we had and overall property cleanliness was great. The negative feedback are all items which can be enhanced to provide a more enjoyable experience as they are likely overlooked during the daytime hours.

Nice "cabin", but room for improvement

This is a great cabin, but there are some things that need fixing.... 1 - The garage door is misaligned and there's a 2" gap at the bottom, on the left side. This would SUCK during the winter snow! 2 - The barbecue's charcoal bin has rotted and fallen apart, it would need to be replaced before it can be used. 3 - The door stopper in the second upstairs bathroom (with the tub/shower combo) is poorly placed in front of the toilet, stepped on it a few times. Sort of dangerous! 4 - Some of the light switches don't seem to do anything (minor concern, all the lights seemed to turn on) Other than that, it was a wonderful cabin to stay in! Be sure to check out Teddy Bear Cafe in the Village for breakfast! Awesome food. Also try Grizzly Manor Cafe. Giant pancakes, good diner food. Staff is fun there, but only if you like being playfully jabbed (verbally) and the like; think trucker or lumberjack personalities.

Clean and Nice

Decent size house. Master bedroom is huge. Second bedroom only fits the bed. Kitchen is spacious, but the living room is not. Back yard was covered in snow during our trip, so the kids had a blast sledding and building snow figures. Backyard is a good size and enclosed, also has a large deck with BBQ. Entire house was clean and comfortable; we really enjoyed our stay.

Nice Cabin

The cabin was nice. It is spacious with high ceilings and a fireplace. However, when we arrived we found ANTS. Boo! Also, the views shown in the pics on the VRBO listing are a bit deceiving. We had a fun time in the game room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but will choose a different cabin next time.
