The Cave

I call this place The Cave not in a cute cozy way, but in a dark dingy way. The décor is very dark and I was constantly looking for more light. Further, you are living amongst a plethora of dead bugs and grime. There were stains on the furniture and beds, dead bugs EVERYWHERE, food reamains on the tables, and overall poor cleanliness. The beds were either hammocked out or like plywood. We had an alarm in the garage directly beneath the master bedroom start going off at 1am on the first night and after an hour someone finally showed up but couldn't access the garage so we had to sleep in other rooms. The second day the water heater in the main part of the house failed so we were without hot water in the kitchen and main bathroom for 24 hours. The management company had an average response time to the alarm and hot water, but when I made multiple requests to talk to a supervisor at 2pm on day two it took them until 9am on day three to finally contact me. We were able to work out amicable compensation for all our issues. The location is perfect for Snow Summit as it is an 8 minute walk to the slopes and there is a nice big slider and windows that look at the slopes, but that is all eclipsed by the many issues we had. Even if the water heated hadn't failed and the alarm hadn't kept us up, we would not have stayed here again.

Great location, 1970's property, no amenities

The proximity to Snow Summit was excellent. The house decor very dated. The amenities extremely limited. No basics like pot holders, consistently working WiFi or paper towels.

Nice cabin good location

All good. Only minor comment was that the cabin was not very well cleaned in the common areas (quite a bit of dust and insects). Otherwise, nice stay and perfect location

Couple Vacation

I stayed here with my boyfriend and another couple. The house itself is a bit smaller than the pictures show; however, it was still a nice size for 4 people. We stayed in the large master and it was really nice. The place was warm and we were comfortable the entire time. The house came with essentials and the front desk was very helpful. I will definitely use Big Bear Vacations again!
