Residents of Old Town Ellicott City for more than 20 years, owner-hosts Nathan Sowers and Kimberly Kepnes, know how those who visit our town, leave here loving it!
Nathan is a chef and baker who started his first business, Pressed for Thyme, catering private dinner parties. He taught professional and non-professional students as an adjunct professor at L'academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He worked many years alongside Chef Michel Tersiguel at the renowned Tersiquel's French Country restaurant in town and he now operates his own wood-fired pizza restaurant, River House Pizza Co., and his own catering company, Catering by River House.
Kimberly is an entrepreneur, associate broker realtor, and the current President of Monument Sotheby's International Realty. She has a long history in Old Ellicott City and neighboring Historic Oella area historic homes and renovations. She has also partnered in the development of several retail and food-service businesses in town including, the Little French Market Cafe, Mon Amie Boutique, Scoop-AHH-dee-doo, and Castle Angelo Country Inn.
Nathan and Kimberly fell in love in town in the courtyard of the Little French Market Cafe and live nearby Mt. Ida in their own, restored historic cottage.
In their capacity as owners and hosts of the Inn at Mt. Ida, Nathan and Kimberly look forward to making your at-H O M E stay or event the most memorable possible.
Kimberly will focus on pillows and setting up your stay and Nathan will work to make your food interests come to life with an onsite personal chef and catering for your private dinner parties, gatherings, or special event catering needs.
