We had a wonderful week at this beautiful home. The location offers amazing water views with fantastic sunsets. There are multiple beaches and trails within walking distance and we enjoyed fishing from the rocks. The house was very clean, beds comfortable and all the essentials plus provided. Jo responded quickly to questions and was easy to contact. Thank you for sharing this special place!
Excellent location with beach access and waterfront views. The house had everything we needed and was in great condition.
The mosquitos in the area were tough to deal with - we would have walked and explored the trails more but they were relentless.
Regardless, we would come again.
This house was exactly what we were looking for - spotlessly clean, nicely furnished, comfortable, a well appointed kitchen and good quality sheets and towels. But the real high point is the location, it’s gorgeous. We had terrible weather but we loved being there. The trip in from the main road is a bit long, but worth the drive. The communication with the host was thorough and very responsive. If you want peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, this place is a good choice.
Jo's house is located in a beautiful spot! Our family appreciated the privacy and quiet setting. The views from the house were gorgeous and ever-changing with the tides, fog, and incredible sunsets. The little ones enjoyed seeing the rocks emerge and then disappear with the tides, while the adults appreciated the views of the nearby islands, boats moored by the shore, sunlight on the water, and the colors of sunrise and sunset. A nature lovers paradise!
The yard provided places for the kids to play and the paved driveway was a perfect spot for bicycles. There is not great access to the shore right from the house for young ones, but It was only a three minute drive to the beach that offered fun for everyone. Great sand and cold Maine water! The mosquitos were fierce on the paths to the beach, but not an issue around the house or on the beach.
The house was very comfortable. It is tastefully decorated, but casual enough that we were not on edge having young ones there. There is a wonderful closed porch on the water side of the house that we designated as the kids play
area and it worked out really well. Right inside the front door is a large utility room that was a great spot for storing items of all sorts. The kitchen has a large pantry that received the groceries needed for a whole week. Beds were comfortable and linens and towels were of high quality. Bathrooms were very clean. Fans we brought were helpful in the bedrooms.
We hope to visit again! Thanks Jo!
This home & property are incredible! We loved every minute of our stay here, whether the sun was shining and we were soaking in the spectacular views from the deck; the fog had socked us in and we were playing one of the many provided games and puzzles; or night had fallen and we were lying in soft sheets with a glorious sea breeze coming through the windows. Jo provided all the touches to make this stay feel like both home and a resort: kayaks, SUPs, wet bags, binocs, cozy blankets, plenty of beach towels, everything you could need in the kitchen...all in a spacious home with beautiful furnishings & lovely gardens. The neighborhood has 5 private beaches, and we were almost always the only ones out on them; between them, we found crashing waves, a tidal river, & tidepools. And the house’s waterfront was so warm (by Maine standards) that we floated about!
The last 3 mi of the drive to this property are not for the faint of heart: the road is well-maintained but a very twisty one lane. Do a big grocery shop before you come (there's a huge fridge/freezer/pantry) and then plan to embrace the quiet & privacy that the distance affords you! Also, pack light-colored, long layers: Georgetown mosquitos are fierce! Jo sprays her property, so we were able to sit outside without bug spray for most of the day, but if you want to walk the trails, come prepared.
Jo was quick to respond & graciously fielded our many questions leading up to our stay. We are grateful & can't wait to return!

About the host
Hosted by Jo Miller
We are the second family to own this property. We looked for years to find a perfect second home and were lucky enough to have the stars align when we came across this gem. We are recent empty nesters from Massachusetts and are thoroughly in love with this spot and are excited to share it.
Why they chose this property
This point has everything Maine has to offer right at your fingertips: granite slabs, pine groves, stunning sandy beaches, great walking trails, beautiful islands, fresh lobster, clamming, fishing, boating, and all with a spectacular sunset at the end of the day.
What makes this property unique
The views from the house and the deck are spectacular even on the coldest winter day. To be able to have your morning coffee, afternoon tea and evening glass of wine with this view makes every day here a relaxing vacation. The adventures on land or sea out the door are the icing on the cake. Sagadahoc Bay is ever changing with bald eagle sightings, baby duck parades, loons, deer, and even seals. Chartered fishing boats come from Booth Bay and anchor right in front. The house kayaks (two Pungo 120 recreational kayaks), one large canoe/kayak that fits 3 people (two adults and one small child), and 2 inflatable paddle boards provide on the water activities. For use in the bay only. Please note the deck and it's railing are not to code. (There a small step in it and the railing is lower than code height, ours is 26 not 36.) Please take extra care with infants or toddlers. Although the deck is not terribly high, there are rocks below. This can be seen in the photos.
