Immerse yourself in the beauty of Winter Park at this ground-floor guest suite, wonderfully situated only three-quarters of a mile from the ski area. Enjoy gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains and a private hot tub to soothe your muscles after a day spent skiing, hiking, or mountain biking.

This guest suite occupies the garden level of a larger home, offering its own entrance and all the privacy you need. Experienced winter athletes can ski right from the house to the base of Winter Park Resort (three-quarters of a mile south). Come summer, you'll be just a few blocks from the Fraser River Trail for great hiking and biking and three-quarters of a mile from the Trestle Bike Park. The west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is only 35 miles north as well.

No matter the season, you'll delight in having a private, covered patio space just outside. Sip cold drinks on summer evenings as the sun begins to set, or slip into the hot tub with the winter snow piled high around you.

The interior is exceptionally well-lit, with large picture windows framing beautiful views of the mountains and evergreens. Shed your outdoor gear in the entry hall and enjoy an open living space that brings together a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area, and a family room with a cozy sectional and a smart TV. In-floor radiant heat and complimentary WiFi are provided as well.

While this place is spacious and nicely updated we did have a few issues. First off this place is about 20 ft away from train tracks. The trains come through quite frequently (4-5 trains every 24 hours) and are quite noisy. Also (which maybe we should have realized from the pictures) the entrance to the only bathroom is located in the bedroom. This works fine for 1-2 people but with 4 people staying there this was a problem. Finally this is a pet friendly apartment and you could tell. There was quite a bit of dog/cat hair throughout the apartment. Of note I did text the host about this and they offered to send a cleaning team back out but we declined and did some vacuuming of our own and used a different comforter on the bed. Overall an okay stay but a few things that could be improved upon or updated to be accurately reflected in the listing.

Not what it seems
Your description of the place should include that the owner that lives on the second floor of the home will be there. I have never rented out a portion of a house while the other portion was being occupied by the owner. He made sure that we didn’t feel welcome, no greeting, smile, nothing, when we would see him. It was so awkward. Next was the constant sound of furniture being drug across the floor that would come through the ceiling. This loud scrapping happened throughout our stay and was horrible to sit and listen to and we could hear every step that was being taken on the stairs even for an hour at 5:30 one morning. I don’t know if the family upstairs somehow doesn’t know that the walls are paper thin or they do know and just don’t care but it made for a uncomfortable stay.
