potential for improvement
Couple of things about our stay. I wish the host was more upfront about the fee to heat the pool which was $75/day. We weren’t notified of the additional cost till after we had booked despite requesting the pool be heated in advance.
Upon arrival, our access code did not work (every adult tried the provided code). We called the host repeatedly, sent numerous online messages and contacted VRBO who also tried to call the host without success. The host didn’t get back to us till about 4 hours later. One of us eventually jumped over the fence and got in through an unlocked sliding door, so we could get the kids inside and unpack, but it felt a little like we were breaking in, which is uncomfortable. There was a very active hive of bees living in the roof towards the front of the house, so would avoid the front yard till that gets addressed. You can’t actually use the TV in the back due to city ordinance which we were unaware of, but trying to turn that one on will mess with the indoor TV. Spare yourself time on that.
The host was more attentive after realizing they had left us stranded. The place is well decorated and spacious. Large pool and in a nice location. If they could provide a document explaining some of the nuances like how to access the Wifi, which TVs work and which ones are more decorative, and maybe elaborate on the bee situation, the place has potential, but it was such a hassle. Not really what you want to deal with on vacation.
