Bella Vista Cottage is nestled in a small vale located on 55 acres of beautiful Texas Hill Country land just 20 minutes from historic Fredericksburg, Texas. We pride ourselves on having created a luxurious tranquil setting and atmosphere.

If you’re looking for a place to unwind, relax and chill out in luxury this is it. From the moment you arrive you will find Bella Vista Cottage a relaxing place to recharge and rejuvenate. Our careful attention to detail and the natural beauty of the location help promote a feeling of peaceful elegance and grace.

Bella Vista Cottage, 2,000 sq ft, was designed and built by the owners with the help a local Fredericksburg architect. The house is meant to be a weekend getaway home to relax and unwind from the hectic stress of city life.

The exterior design of Bella Vista contains architectural elements of the local German farm houses, Victorian style cottages and American Prairie architecture melded into a unique, inviting modern approach. The owner's dedication to Bella Vista shines throughout all areas of the house -- from its individualized room decorations, the handmade glass tiles, hand hewn floors and beams and custom pendant lamps in the kitchen. The beautiful and scenic views offered from the front and back covered porches enhance the tranquility.

Staying at the Bella Vista Cottage is a truly luxurious, memorable, romantic and fun experience. The owners pride themselves on taking excellent care of their guests making them feel at home from the first moment they step into Bella Vista.

We offer the following options:

1 or 2 people — $250 weekends/night (One Bedroom)
2, 3 or 4 people–$350 weekends/night (Two Bedrooms)
Prices do not include applicable taxes. There is a two night minimum stay. Check-in is 3 PM. Check-out time is 11 AM.

Great Eclipse Getaway

I don’t think I have felt more at home than at this Vrbo property. The number one reason: it is CLEAN, even down to my pet peeve, baseboards. The house is maintained as if the owners lived there. It is quiet, comfortable and relaxing. The kitchen has top quality clean cookware and has any gadget needed. The kolaches, fruit, OJ, wine, candy, bathrobes, and fresh flowers were above and beyond. We felt very pampered. We loved staying here. We definitely would recommend this home.

Perfect Weekend

I cannot tell you what a beautiful place this is in words... you just need to experience it. The hosts really spent a lot of time thinking about the experience of their home... everything from a well-stocked kitchen to bowls of candy and chocolate. The grounds are GORGEOUS and the house is spotless. We booked the house so we could spend some time in Fredericksburg; however, next time I want to book this house just to stay at the house and enjoy all the wildlife!

Perfection

This was our second stay and it was just as perfect as the 1st. We love the beauty of not only the home itself, but the property, the location and the wildlife. Lovely Upscale Cottage/Farmhouse

Kevin and Joanna's home is one of the best we have stayed in while traveling across the US. Peaceful location on 55 acres with magnificent sunsets off the back porch. We enjoyed the hospitality- a bottle of local wine, kolashes, OJ, and chocolates. Kitchen is very well stocked and laid out well for cooking. The wildlife (deer, armadillos, fox, and many birds) along with the neighbor cats and donkeys were welcome visitors. The jetted tub and steam shower made the home spa-like. We would stay here everytime we are in the area. The hosts are warm, welcoming, and very gracious.

Weekend Getaway!

We had a wonderful stay! The place was beautiful and equipped with everything we could possibly need! The view was absolutely breathtaking! Watching the deer in the morning was so serene. We had planned on having dinner in Fredericksburg but enjoyed our stay so much we decided to dine in, relax and just enjoy a time of reflection, especially this time of year! The beautifully decorated Christmas tree added an extra touch of warmth. Thank you and Merry Christmas 🌲

Bella Vista Getaway

Bella Vista is simply amazing. It was our second stay at this lovely property, and we will definitely return. It is exactly as advertised with premium amenities, privacy, and a large back deck from which to enjoy the spectacular view and take in the wildlife. We would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a little rest and relaxation in the Fredericksburg area.

Wonderful place

Anniversary trip with friends and we couldn’t have picked a better place. It is secluded enough to feel like you’re alone with your group, but close enough to town to be convenient. We almost didn’t want to leave long enough to take in our activities. Highly recommend it.

Gorgeous property

Loved staying here with my old high school girl friend. Comfortable and luxurious. Our favorite activity was stepping outside with all the lights off to marvel at the amazing display of stars. We could see the Milky Way! Thanks to the homeowner for a marvelous experience.

Couples Getaway

We loved the house, was perfect for two couples. Loved the views from porches. Beds were very comfortable, a little high, but great once you're in! Our only suggestion is to provide a more direct area for loading and unloading the luggage, groceries and ice chests, etc.

Beautiful home and a beautiful setting! Bill Vista was a beautifully comfortable and well stocked home with everything we needed for a long weekend. Hosts we’re very responsive and we appreciated the special touch of fresh flowers, baked goods, OJ and coffee l! Comfy beds, spacious place, fully stocked kitchen and fast wifi. We walked the property and enjoyed being out of the noise and traffic. Highly recommend this home to anyone!

Hill Country Stay

We stayed at the Bella Vista Cottage for one week and had a most enjoyable time. The cottage provided a quiet, comfortable and peaceful experience. We had fun sitting out on the back porch with a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside while watching the deer grazing nearby. The owners provided some very thoughtful touches and amenities throughout the home that added to the enjoyment of our stay. We would definitely come back for a return visit.

Perfect get away

Bella Vista Cottage is the perfect get away. A quiet little sanctuary to relax and watch the wildlife and sunsets from the back porch. The cottage is beautiful and the kitchen is fully stocked. The owners provided so many extra little things that made our stay even more enjoyable. We wouldn’t change anything, our stay was perfect. We can’t wait to return for another visit.

Beautiful and restful.

We really enjoyed being out in the country. The house is built to take in all the scenery and it was easy to view the wildlife while in the comfort of the home or porch. Everything about the house was great! We will stay here again in the future.

Great location if you want to be away from town and enjoy wildlife but still close enough to not be a hassle. Owners are very responsive and have a lot of little extras for you to enjoy. We will definitely be back.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

Our stay at the Bella Vista Cottage was exactly what I was looking for. The house is secluded on a beautiful piece of property and we enjoyed watching the deer in the mornings and evenings. It is about a 15-20 minute drive into town, so not too far. Thanks for being great hosts!

What a great house and stay!

This house if one of the best houses we’ve ever stayed at! Even before we got there Kevin was easy to communicate with and sent great information and instructions. The drive up to the house is great as it is out in country so no traffic and a nice drive up. We drove up to the house which looks exactly like the pictures both inside and out. It is a beautiful house!! We were met with deer all the way up to house. Once inside the special touches of a bottle of wine, chocolate and fresh flowers were great! We got there in time to put dinner in oven and enjoy a glass of wine on porch watching sunset. Beds are all so comfy and everything in house is top notch. Another great surprise were the fresh pastries in fridge along with orange juice which was great for breakfast the next morning before our wine tours. After long days in town visiting wineries and shopping it was so nice to come back to the house to quiet and beauty. The stars are amazing and really just melts away the stress. Winding down on back or front porch, watching deer and birds was a perfect ending to each day. There is not one thing we’d change about any part of the check in, check out or entire stay. We had a good laugh trying to get TV on to watch Yellowstone Sunday but the instructions were perfect once we figured out the remotes. First and only time the TV was on all weekend so not an issue. We will be back visit definitely and this house will become a regular for us for sure. Thank you Kevin & JoAnna for providing such a wonderful house with personal touches!!

Nice, well-built, quiet cabin - the patio makes it

The greats. Cabin construction and cleanliness. The hot tub, super clean nd super hot (wish ours at home met this benchmark). The patio was the best part. We had the place to ourselves for the first three (week)nights. Opportunities for improvement follow (most are very simple and inexpensive). I have rental properties - and we have rented dozens of properties around the world - so I am a stickler (thus the one star ding). Dont say you have breakfast - one spoiled orange just and sugar cereals without milk - and not enough for stay IF we would eat that (the snack bars were nice for hiking though). Just dont say breakfast - in the current high end world that means local bakery goods, etc. Big one for me is... Have a GAS grill and the gas there. I really hate when rentals expect the renters to go and buy briquets, starter fluid, lighters, etc. - I am on vacation. We wasted the time and money to buy the stuff and it still didn't work and we had to finish steak on the stove. Also, if you have a fire pit - supply some wood. I would imagine it would be WAY more cot-effective to have some supplied in bulk - than for me to pay the crazy price at a supermarket. Likewise, the kitchen is too sparsely equipped. Not one tray/sheet to put things in the oven. We always make sure that simple cooking supplies are there, pepper, olive oil, vinegar, spices, etc. etc. This was a last minute replacement for us - so when I dont see a dishwasher I often rule out a location - but partner picked this one. Also, no TV and no internet is also a no go for me normally. Note that there are several cabins at this location (the one I see in the picture for this review was not the one we stayed in) and that the other cabins besides this one (Moonlight something) had less private patios.

Anniversary trip

Lovely country home with no noise or light pollution. Back porch wildlife gazing was the best. So many extra touches provided by the host beyond a very well stocked home. Host communicates well and is helpful. Loved our stay.

We have been in love with the Texas Hill Country since our 1st trip there. We built this cottage from scratch and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. There is much to do in the area: wine tastings, vineyard tours, the Nimitz Museum, Oktoberfest, many specialty and antique shops, Enchanted Rock and Lost Maples State parks, the LBJ Ranch and great roads to explore the local beauty.
