Gem House is a great spot to discover all that Erie has to offer. With its proximity to Mercyhurst University, Gannon University and Penn State Behrend, Gem House is a perfect spot to stay while visiting a local student or the surrounding attractions. The house is centrally located with easy access to Presque Isle, Waldameer, the Erie Zoo, downtown Erie, and Millcreek Mall. With so much to see and do, you’ll soon see why Erie is also known as the “Gem City.”

Truly a gem!

We enjoyed our stay, which was centrally located, perfectly appointed, with attention to every need and detail. The home was perfect for our getaway, comfortable, well equipped with everything we could want and the owners were thoughtful, professional and great with communication. We will definitely return to this perfect gem in Erie!

Great house in a convenient area

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. The house was clean and well taken care of. There were nice added touches with blankets, cozy socks, and snacks. We visited numerous places throughout the area, and all were very convenient to the house. We plan to bring our kids with us next time over the summer.

Trip Home

Quick trip to Erie to see family. This property is well located to all local attractions- 10-15 minutes to Presque Isle and Waldameer. House has everything you need- kitchen is well stocked. Very clean. Owners very responsive to question about entering property. Lovely back deck and yard (weather didn't cooperate with us). I would stay here again.

It was a clean, cozy gem

The house is located near "everything." It was clean upon arrival and the backyard is big enough to enjoy (let the kids play). The beds are comfortable and the washer and dryer work well.

Great little house

It was a perfect little house. Just what we needed for the night. It was clean and owners were great with communication. Only downside is it it's on a somewhat busy street. Other than that, we had no issues.

Cute little house!

This worked well for our family of 6! We had enough space and kids enjoyed the games. I understand it was an old house but I was a little worried about all of the extension cords being a fire hazard. Owners communicated well! Easy to access different areas of the city. Kitchen was great!

Definitely was a little gem!

Just got back from a 2 days stay with a small group of girls. The house was great for a little shopping…close to peach street shopping..and some relaxing with good friends. The house was clean, so many extra blankets and pillows. There was also everything that you needed like spices, TP, garbage bags, kleenex…a lot of little things ..and a lovely bowl of snacks waiting for us upon arrival…nice touch!. Thank you for hosting us and we will def book again.

We are from Orange County, California, but decided to buy a house in each of the towns where our two daughters attended college. Yes! They both left the warm California sun for very cold and snowy places! They love the change of seasons and cultures that are so different from Southern California. Our oldest daughter graduated from the University of Wyoming, so we have a house in Laramie, which is currently being rented full-time. In Erie, we decided to buy this home to rent to others looking for a comfortable and cozy spot to enjoy Erie like we do when we're visiting our Junior at Mercyhurst.

Why they chose this property

Gem House is very special to us. Our daughter attends Mercyhurst University, just 3 miles down the street. We fell in love with Erie and the surrounding areas when we first came to visit the universities in the area with her on her college tours. We bought this house as a home base for us to use when we head to Erie to visit her, and as a place for others to enjoy when we aren’t in town. We hope that you enjoy our home away from home as much as we do!
