This was the BEST decision for our family. The house was very cozy, old charm feel with some modern updates. The downstairs bathroom had a Spa vibe. We loved the 6 bedrooms & spacious kitchen & dining room. Loved how close it was to food & entertainment. The walk to the beach was only 10 minutes & very safe. We are use to blinds and/or shades, so just having light curtains for the windows was
Had a wonderful stay. The house was large enough to allow us all to have our own rooms. Location was perfect and within walking distance of everything.
Old house with neat features. Great dining area to sit, chat, eat, play games. No blinds and only sheer curtains, so if you like to sleep in, it's kind of bright once the sun rises. Nice walk to the beach.
The interior of the home was clean and welcoming. We had plenty of space and comfortable accommodations. I received many kudos from my friends for choosing this venue. The beach was a five minute walk from the house and the beautiful weather was the finishing touch.
Looking forward to a return visit.
Came to Connecticut for our son's graduation from Yale. Perfect house away from the craziness in New Haven. This allowed the family to be together in a relaxing peaceful location. House is on a busy street, but you would never know when you are inside or sitting in the backyard. I only wish I had another reason to visit Clinton so that I could stay in the comfortable historical home again. Thank you!!!
My son and 7 of his children drove 18 hours from Wisconsin to meet up with me, my daughter, and my granddaughter for a week! We were able to check in early and scope out what I might need to bring for a group of 11! The room and bed arrangement worked out perfectly - especially for me since I have mobility issues- the first-floor queen room was perfect. The big lawn was great for many games of croquet. The kitchen was very well appointed and the little kids' room was fantastic. The AC was very helpful. One small bedroom did not have one but we were assured that if one was needed, it would be installed. Proximity to everything, plenty of parking, a brand new Webber gas grill, a huge TV, and a good washer and dryer were all very appreciated. All in all, a fantastic place for a family of three generations to gather!
My family of four adults and three children ages 10-12 gathered from both coasts and in between. We enjoyed ample space in the home and yard and convenience to beaches. The home retains its antique charm while the kitchen and bathrooms have all the modern updates. The manager responded immediately to my call when I had trouble with the key. A wonderful experience!
We were very please with the home and location. The size and layout of he home was perfect for our group. The place was very clean and the owner very easy to deal with. we would definitely book this place again.
This old colonial home was very charming. We enjoyed our stay. The only thing to be aware of is there is only air conditioning in 4 of the bedrooms and it was quite hot while we were there. The location is great, and it's a short walk in to town.
Nine friends getting together for a weekend in Clinton. Might’ve given it a better rating, except the dishwasher didn’t work and it lacks some utensils for cooking in the kitchen.
our group had a working retreat at this house and it suited our needs very well. house was clean and as described, though some of the furnishings would benefit from deep cleaning to remove stains and updating to improve comfort - particularly on the screen porch. Would still stay again though!
Place was very clean only thing did not like there were big Ants in the Dining room area. we put in ant traps but did not work.
there were several Ants
My nephew got married and we needed room for 6 of us with two full bathrooms. The location was great! We had some great Lobster Bisque and amazing Pizza! If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here again.
Perfect rental for peace and serenity. Conveniently located- walkers dream for trails, beaches, marinas and restaurants. Beautifully updated with decor very well done. Many extras that showed the owners attention to details- such as luxury bed & bath linens. Exceptionally clean with large yard and plenty of parking.
We really enjoyed our stay and would have given this property all 5 stars if there were air conditioners provided in all areas of the house.
Pro's- it fits a lot of people comfortably, it has been remodeled on the inside, the backyard is large plus it has a bonus treehouse!, it is close to the beach, it includes a day pass to Clinton Beach which is a small beach but perfect for families with kids. You didn't have to walk far from the parking lot, there were restrooms close by, a playground and a splash pad for the kids. Get there early for parking though: 2 bedrooms are located on the main floor (perfect for my 80-year-old mom) one with a queen bed and air conditioning and another with bunk beds (no air, it was hot!) Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms, 3 of which have air (the room with one twin bed did not have air.) There was yummy coffee provided for the morning.
Con's-the house looks rundown when you drive up to it, but I can assure you it is not rundown on the inside! Unfortunately, there was a heatwave while we were there and the house probably does not need air most of the year, but we were sweating eating in the kitchen and while we watched tv in the evenings. (No air in the living room or kitchen.) I would also leave a manual on how to successfully use the TV!
We really enjoyed the house and already talked about booking it again next year, as long as the air issue has been resolved.
The owners were super nice to allow our booking at the last minute when another vrbo house cancelled on us 3 days prior due to a plumbing issue. House has tons of space and charm - loved the decorations and historical character. Location was perfect for our wedding activities and we walked to a great meat market/deli for lunch. Highly recommend the Clinton Beach Donut shop for an amazing selection for breakfast. Yum!
Very old historic home with a lot of charm and historic interest. Outside of the home would benefit from painting. Some unfinished repairs were in process on the exterior. Furnishings and decor were very nice and attractive.
