We walked everywhere as this location was ideal. Very comfortable property and delightful hostess. Made several purchases at her gallery. We so enjoyed sittingin the yard or on the porch.
Great little two bedroom/2 bath home- no close neighbors- all amenities- close to grocery store- and downtown beautiful yard out back with lounging chaises. Very comfortable…
This darling, well renovated cottage was our perfect get away! Close to downtown and in a quiet neighborhood. It was perfect for me, my husband and our dog. Beautiful artwork and a lovely workshop that Daphne shared with me!
The property was wonderful. The location to places of interest, boutique shops, great restaurants, grocery store, gas … everything you might need or want was 2 blocks away. The host was gracious, knowledgeable of the area & very helpful. We will stay here again without hesitation & recommend it to friends…Perfect!!!
We were away for 8 weeks and this was our final destination before heading home. It was also the best destination, adorable cottage and relaxing time! Daphne’s cottage was perfection all around. The artwork, the fenced in back yard, colorful dishes..truly all the comforts of home. Beds super comfy! The location was so close to everything, so many dining options, beautiful galleries and all dog friendly! I hope we can make this a destination vacation in the future!
We loved our stay at this VRBO in Apalachicola. It was very comfortable, warm, cozy, and dog friendly. We enjoyed the closeness to town and the privacy of the backyard. The beds and baths were clean and comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with everything necessary to prepare a light lunch or a full dinner.Daphne was super responsive to all questions and made us feel right at home. We would definitely stay again!!
Wonderful place to stay! Charming, clean and convenient to town. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back…would highly recommend staying here!
We enjoyed our stay at this adorable small cottage. Daphne was very accommodating and so sweet! It’s the perfect place to stay for any occasion or any time of year. The back yard was extremely convenient for our fur babies!! Not to mention, the house was extremely clean, and stocked with everything you could need!! Will definitely be back.
The cottage is very well designed, very comfortable. We walked to town, did not need the car. The piggly wiggly and CVS are very close. The garden is enclosed so my dog could not get out.Dapne is very nice and helpful. Our stay was wonderful.
We absolutely love this place. It has all the amenities you need and more. The Host - Daphne is very accommodating and a talented artist. We will definitely stay here again.
This cottage was extremely clean, comfortable and well furnished. I cannot think of anything we could have needed that was not provided. We felt at home the minute we walked through the door and look forward to staying there on our next visit to Apalachicola.
Super comfy & clean cottage. Recent first-class renovation. Short 10-minute walk to downtown Apalachicola. Small fenced back yard for the pup. Even better than the description on VRBO.
Daphne was a fantastic host and the cottage was perfect for our stay. In short walking distance to the great food and drink that can be found in downtown Apalachicola.
We would definitely stay here again!
The house was very comfortable, close to downtown, and all of us felt very relaxed in the home, even the dog. Definitely will stay again when we are in that area again.
This recently renovated bungalow had everything we needed for a fun stay in Apalachicola -- comfortable beds, gorgeous bathrooms, a well appointed kitchen, and great wifi. With its location an easy walk from downtown, it was the perfect location to enjoy a holiday weekend.
Such an adorable cottage and perfect stay- Daphne was a thoughtful host & provided everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. I hope to come back to Apalachicola & when I do, I would like to stay at this gem again. Thank you!

About the host

My husband Jay and myself both grew up in Wakulla County, and after moving about for a few years, came back to Wakulla in 2001 to raise our two children (Emily and Jason). We restored a turn of the century home in Sopchoppy (about 45 minutes down the road from Apalachicola) in 2019, and moved in full time in 2021. We enjoy gardening, being on the water, small town life, and taking care of our dog Buddy and two cats, Binx and Ricky Bobby.
Why they chose this property
This cottage and auto repair shop was purchased in 2019 after Hurricane Michael. The house had been empty for years and needed a complete renovation. Trees had fallen on the two buildings and all over the yard. It was love at first sight. The cottage was renovated first then the auto repair shop, which will eventually be available for rent as well. The garden area is work in progress that will mature with time.
What makes this property unique
The front porch overlooks the historic Chestnut Cemetery which is graced with Live Oaks dripping with moss framed with the original iron fences. It’s a picturesque and peaceful scene to enjoy while sitting on the pair of rocking chairs on porch or while in the dining area off the kitchen.
