A Cozy Work in Progress
This older home is in a great neighborhood, with a wonderful property manager who lives across the street. It has new flooring, lighting, and kitchen appliances about 3 years old. And big TVs in each bedroom and living room. The house was 59 degrees when we arrived, and the smoke alarm was going off. It took 4 hours to resolve both problems. On a Friday evening, there was a major leak under the kitchen sink that was fixed the next day. The queen beds were comfortable, but other furniture was on the "thrifty" side. The living room sofa does not hold a queen bed. To sleep 8, one must find and inflate a mattress. The support for one of the twin beds collapsed, and our 2 daughters slept on floor after that. During our 3rd night, the furnace stopped working and was only blowing cold air. It was 61 degrees when we awoke. The single pane windows and thin curtains made it hard for us to get the house warm. We checked out on our 4th day, asking the owner for a refund for 3 unused nights. We contacted the owner directly several times, but did not receive any response.
