About this property

Bluegrass Highway ~ Creek & River Nearby ~ 8 Miles to Downtown

Enjoy a unique retreat at Bluegrass Highway - a comfortable cabin for road warriors looking for a one-of-a-kind stay just 7 miles from Prentice Cooper State Park & 8 miles from downtown Chattanooga. Folks towing toys, we’ve got you covered with plenty of parking on our property for your trailer. Right here in Suck Creek Canyon, we have swimming holes, hiking, paddling, fishing, and climbing too. So come on in, pick a little on the banjo, and have a great time relaxing after a big day exploring!

The Space:
Bluegrass Highway is easy to access, just off the road, on our 30+ acres of forested land. Given our location and all the choices for activities nearby, your biggest problem will be deciding how to fit it all in. You could stay here at the nature retreat and explore the land, relax by the creek, or sit on the deck. Or you could head to all the trails in Prentice Cooper and/ or to downtown Chattanooga in under 10 minutes.

We have a fully equipped kitchen with everything you'll need including pots & pans, dishes, cutlery, coffee, tea, spices, an electric range & oven, microwave, French press & drip coffee maker. Our living room, with a unique round window that's perfect for bird watching, has a couch that transforms to accommodate a twin sleeping space. Upstairs has a bedroom with a queen size bed, windows overlooking Suck Creek with a view of Signal Mountain, reading chairs, and a smart TV. Also upstairs is the bathroom with a giant walk-in shower with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash there for you. We have a small washer & dryer for your use as well.

Bluegrass Highway is one of four cabins on our property where our family has been working for years to create a rare space for our guests to enjoy. Each cabin was either built by us from local materials or remodeled by us to be a unique space for you!

Guest Access:
You are free to explore all around our nature retreat. We have over 30 acres of forest with trails and creeks throughout.

Bluegrass Highway is one of four cabins at our nature retreat. We would love for you to stay at all of them! You can find links under my host profile for more information.

Interaction with Guests:
I am happy to answer any questions and provide recommendations. We love Chattanooga (born and raised), so we're always excited to share what this place has to offer. We also live nearby and can be available if needed.

Other Details to Note:
Please note, some road noise can be expected here at Bluegrass Highway as the cabin is next to a main thoroughfare. We have a sound machine and an industrial fan at the cabin for your use.

This cabin may not be the best spot for exploring toddlers as the staircase and landing are open. Be sure to take that into consideration if booking with children.

We straddle the Eastern and Central time zones. Be aware that cell phones may alternate between the two when in this area, but we abide by Eastern Standard Time (as does Chattanooga).

Perfect place to unplug

Boyfriend & I loved the property! Even though it says mini cabin, it feels bigger in person. It’s the perfect location if you want to enjoy nature. There’s several trailheads and launch sites to kayaking or boat close by too. It wasn’t noisy and at night you can hear Suck Creek from the porches.

Loved the tiny cabin - we'll be back!

We were in the area to visit our son and his family in Signal Mountain - this cabin was perfect for us. It's so cute, clean, charming and funky! We loved watching the woodchuck in the morning, being in the woods and hearing the birds. Thank you for a great experience - we'll be back!
