Perfect return visit

The beauty of Mount Desert Islans goes without saying. The cottage itself is absolutely perfect. It is private, quiet, stocked with everything we need, and has the traditional coastal charm. The yard is awesome with the fire pit, space to play and for our dog to run, and well maintained. We enjoyed paddleboarding on the marsh, views of the moon, stars, and northern lights, and all of the wildlife as the tides changed. It was our second time staying, and I hope that we can continue the tradition. The house is cozy and feels like home, and is pretty much equidistant from all of the different areas of the island and sites in the National park. It is always a peace of Heaven when we stay.

Great Getaway

Fantastic spot. SUPER clean cottage. It’s not fancy but it’s got everything you need and management was very attentive. We brought flip flops for the bathroom (carpet) and I wish the double bed was a little bigger, but otherwise great home. Very quiet and private. Perfect for stargazing.

Quintessential Maine Cottage

This perfect cottage lays on a quiet cove/ pond in a peaceful section of the busy Mount Desert. Mornings and evenings we sat out on the deck with our dogs and watched the ducks and gulls and even a Bald Eagle. I would rebook in a heartbeat- this is Maine with all the character and personality and peaceful surroundings.that we love so much. Also the house was spotless and had everything we needed to cook delicious dinners.

Perfection

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A perfect cottage, location, everything. We loved our stay here! Very clean, classic waterfront cottage. We hiked, kayaked, ate lobster rolls (Thurston's, Archie's), woodfire pizza (Sweet Pea) and blueberry pie (The Crust Station). We had the best late summer weather, and let the cool breezes come in. We loved watching the tides, the gulls, cormorants, herons, ducks, and even a crane from the deck. Coastal Maine Vacations provides an excellent property management service. It was great to have a washer and dryer on hand. The bed was not the best but everything else makes up for this. We would not hesitate to return.

*A Perfect Staging Point for Your Acadia Adventure**

An outstanding home base for a week in Acadia. 20 minutes from everything you’ll want to explore, it’s the perfect spot for easy access to Bar Harbor’s vibrant town, with its restaurants and shops. Whether you're looking to take on some of the area's most famous hikes or visit iconic spots like Thunder Hole and Jordan Pond, Nonie's Nest puts you right in the middle of it all. For dining, you’re spoiled for choice. Just five minutes away, we enjoyed Traveling Lobster—5 lobsters, 5 corn, 2 lbs mussels, 1 lb clams, all for $115. If you’re in the mood for bbq, Mainly Meat’s is less than 10 min away. It’s a dog-friendly venue, where we savored the Max Platter for $79, more than enough to feed our family. The cottage is a gem. It’s clear that the owner has thoughtfully equipped the home with everything you might need. We brought our dog, who had a blast in the yard. My son, a l bird photographer, was thrilled by the variety of species attracted to the nearby body of water, which offers a fascinating experience with its 9-foot tide changes. Evenings were spent roasting marshmallows, easily started with kindling found in the woods. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean, and the kitchen was perfect for breakfast—saving us the expense of dining out. lunches, we packed pb&j for hikes and saved our splurges for dinner at favorites like Abel’s, Thurston’s, and Beal’s. If u want to save 1/2 try going over the bridge/off island for dinner highly recommend Nonnie’s Nest!

Great vacation spot

The property is absolutely beautiful. The cottage sits right on the inlet and in August you could watch the sun set over the inlet. The place was clean and well supplied. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would stay again in a heartbeat.

It’s like spending a week with grandma!

What a wonderful experience! Very clean and a lot of nice little touches. On our first day we were enjoying the deck, it was sooo peaceful. Lots of birds and across the cove was a deer. Almost like they placed her there so we felt welcomed. It very picturesque. It was fun watching the tide and picking up clam shells, the ones that we didn’t have fun watching the seagulls break. We just really enjoyed it.

Summer 2024 at Noonies Nest

Perfect place to start and end your day. Property sits on a pond away from the crowds where you can enjoy your morning coffee and evening. At low tide you can sit and watch the seagulls come in for their meal of clams. Which they know just how high to fly to drop them so they open. Property is 20 minutes from Bar Harbor and even less to Southwest Harbor. Echo and Long lake are less than 15 minutes away. We had our senior dachshund with us and the grounds were perfect for her to meander around (supervised). House has everything, beds are comfortable and with the cool nights AC was not needed in the bedrooms. AC unit is in the livingroom. Owners are very responsive, as we needed a full propane tank and he was there in a jiffy. Highly recommend this property and would book it again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wonderfully cozy getaway on the water! Hear looons, watch the tides come in, and sit a spell on the deck while the sun sets. Well-appointed, too! And no one can complain about just locking the doors as you leave—we would definitely return!

Loved the Location

Beautiful & private location on the edge of an inlet. Views of the water awesome from the large deck. Property had everything we needed. The drive to & from the park was easy & it was nice to be on the less crowded side of the island. Only negative comment was that the double bed is starting to get a bit soft, thought it didn't bother us much. Would definitely rent it gain.

Perfect place for our first visit to Maine!

Noonie's Nest was exactly what we were looking for and expected: - Location on the quiet side of the island, but easy drive to everything - Comfortable cottage and quiet to relax after hiking - Great view of water and birds - Great amenities, including reading lamps and USB outlets (on lamps in bedrooms). Will recommend to others! Thank you.

A lovely spot with a few oddities

In general, we were quite happy with this rental. The location couldn’t have been better for the wedding we were attending less than a mile down the road, and there was plenty of space for two couples and a 3.5 year old with a small dog. Check in was super easy, if a little confusing because of the multiple platforms between VRBO and the private company, but we figured it out. There were nice touches with fresh boxes of dish detergent and soaps etc, and the kitchen was well appointed with every appliance you could ask for. Three small things to note: 1. The house is at the end of a shared driveway. There is a garage you have to pass directly in front of, where someone presumably lives (we saw cars but no people), so it felt a little less private and like we were shining our headlights into their space and making noise every time we came and went. 2. The bathroom was carpeted, which is arguably soft and warm for cool winter months but otherwise just weird and unsanitary in my opinion. You can be the judge of that. 3. There was an odd smell like maybe there had been animals there, which they do allow (like I said, we had a dog with us), but they charge a $200 pet fee which one would hope would cover thorough cleaning and therefore help with lingering smells. We got used to it and it wasn’t terrible, just present. All this to just be honest and thorough so future guests have all the info, but as I said, we were generally happy with our stay.
