Quiet Getaway
Cute little property on a quiet street. Location was good, easy to get to town and hiking. The house was nicely decorated, modern/farmhouse, inside was clean. The television needs updating; we could not even use the netflix app or cast from our devices since the TV was very outdated and the channels available were limited. We were not there to watch TV but at night it would have been nice. It also would have been nice if there was a "renter's manual" to tell you where things were in the house, emergency information such as hospital, police, etc. television directions, local points of interest, etc. The kayaks were older and not in great shape, those could use updating for sure plus the ropes to tie them to the dock were on their last legs. Word to the wise-the ramp from the yard to the dock is EXTREMELY steep. It was difficult to navigate. I wish the outside was a little bit cleaner, too. The outside chairs were full of spider webs, dirty - the outside storage area was the same. I understand it is an outside area, but we couldn't use the chairs without cleaning them all. All in all I would recommend this location with a few suggestions- our kayak trip on the lake was beautiful. The owners were very responsive to questions and mailed out shoes back to us after we left them outside.

A quiet weekend getaway
Had a great time celebrating a birthday weekend! It is a compact space, but a perfect base of operations for hiking or boating. Conveniently located near everything you’re looking for and still tucked away for some peaceful down time. Definitely keeping this on the list for a return trip!

Charming Little Lake Cottage
Comfy & Cozy little lake cottage. Small but just right for a couple or family of 4. The beds are super comfy. Only thing with the main bedroom that we would change would be adding a window unit ac in there, if you close the bedroom door it gets very stuffy in there. The ramp is steep that goes down to the lake but there are hand rails and rubber gripping for safety all the way down the ramp. We loved the firepit and we would definitely stay here again! Thank you for sharing your home!

Great place on a small lake for children
Great place to stay. This is not Badin Lake and you cannot get to it on your boat. You can pull your boat out and drive it to Badin the boat ramp is really close. The boat access for Palmerville lake is shallow and has a few deep holes for your tires. Can be tricky to get your boat in and out. You will need to back your vehicle in all the way tires in water. Nevertheless the home is great. Comfortably held our family of four. The dock for the boat was great and swimming was wonderful. The lake is good for tubing not really big enough for skiing. Felt very safe with our small children. Quiet nice family retreat without any crowds. Would recommend for a family retreat.

Great location
Very clean and the kitchen was well-stocked. Just minutes to Morrow State Park. I didn't use the house dock but it looked fairly new/remodeled, as did the entire house. I would definitely stay here again.

Lake house at Badin NC
Small lake house perfect for a weekend getaway! Lovely bathroom recently renovated. Property owners are wonderful. My only suggestion is to make sure you wear sneakers on the ramp to the dock because it’s steep.

We are excited about sharing our lake cabin for lovers of the water and outdoors! Lovingly renovated in 2022, Lakeside Retreat is our guest cottage next to our main lakefront home. We jet ski, waterski, wakeboard, knee board, kayak, canoe, and swim from May to October. From Pinehurst, NC, we hope to retire to the lake one day!

Why they chose this property

We were looking for a place near a lake when we happened upon Palmerville Lake through an ad on craigslist. Our hope was to make memories with our family and the lake was a wonderful place for us during covid.

What makes this property unique

You are welcome to use the kayaks and canoe that are on the property! The boat launch to Palmerville Lake is at the end of the street, so bring your motorboat or jet ski! There are typically no more than four or five boats on the lake at a time, so it is a safe place for children to learn water sports. You will see gorgeous herons, hawks, ducks, deer, wild turkey, and other wildlife around the lake.
Lakeside Retreat is only 2 miles from the downtown Badin boat launch on Badin Lake and 7 miles from the Old Whitney boat launch on Badin Lake.
