Or, nestle up with a great book while you listen to rain drops on the tin roof of this charming getaway. With tons of designer touches, you're sure to be living in comfort. Please don’t hesitate to share how we can make your stay more enjoyable. In the meantime, relax and take in a deep breath of mountain air - you’re in God’s country. In the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Horse Pasture Hideaway is just a short distance from beautiful mountain hikes and picturesque waterfalls, and minutes away from our tiny town of Highlands.

Note: Please understand this cabin is accessed via a mix of curvy paved and gravel roads, and is approximately 5 miles from Main Street in Highlands. We advise daylight travel for your arrival. The cabin is located in a remote setting while still being nearby neighbors.

Beautiful Scenery
We loved sitting outside and looking into the pasture. Nature is all around you. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed cooking breakfast and dinner one night.

Secluded quiet place
My wife and I had a great time at our stay. The property was exactly what we were looking for.. off the beaten path but still close to town, quiet, peaceful, and well updated.

Great Getaway
We were a group of 4 couples in town for a wedding and absolutely loved our experience! The house is well taken care of and has absolute everything we would need. One of the best home rentals I’ve stayed in. Owner is very responsive.

Beautiful quiet, property
This house was a gem in the woods, and very well appointed: modern kitchen and bathrooms. Although two other houses are visible through the fence, there was no noise to be heard. We took our dogs on the trip, and they enjoyed the space to run and sniff. The road to the house is also good for a walk. Kelsey was very responsive to our questions. To know: the fence doesn't connect behind a copse of trees but it's out of sight of dogs and kids. It's a 'horse pasture' fence so if you have dogs or kids that like to explore, they may be able to crawl through or under. Just keep an eye on them. Also to know: in addition to the existing front porch, a screened-in porch was added and it's probably 30 x 15? There's a seating area with fireplace and a dining table to seat 10. If you plan on staying in the loft, be aware that the ladder is pretty steep, but safe. We were a couple (bedroom 1 with in suite bath), my mother in law (bedroom 2), and another couple who slept in the loft (I'm older than they are). There's a hall bathroom too. The house would be too big for one couple, unless you really like your space, but two couples or a family would be perfect. To Highlands, the main road is challenging to drive - lots of curves and switchbacks - but it's only about 10 minutes on that road, and15-20 minutes to the center of town (Highlands) from the house. If you know the area, the house is on the other side of town from the 'gorge road'.

I am a small town girl living in the city. I grew up on a farm with a big family. Our cabins are located on the farm where I grew up and I love reminiscing about my childhood when we visit. My husband and I love to travel between my hometown in the mountains and other cities and towns with lots of adventure, staying at unique Airbnb accommodations along the way. We hope other travelers love our properties and make as many memories as we always do on our Airbnb stays.
