This is a very clean, beautiful home on the inside and out. They have everything you need! Raymond was an EXCELLENT host who was super responsive and understanding. I highly recommend. You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Raymond! We can't wait to come back!
Great property, space and location for the boys and dad to have there own space, big elk creek for fishing and grill was fabulous to do chicken and burgers for a large group
Fantastic property, one the the best hosts we have ever had. I would recommend this house and this host to anyone. Above and beyond, we appreciate everything our host did in order for us to enjoy our stay.
Everything was great. Very nice place to stay. The deck looked really nice but the weather didn’t cooperate with us this time. We will definitely be back to try again
We stayed at this property for the week of University of Delaware’s graduation. It was perfect, about a 15 minute drive from Newark, in a very nice neighborhood. The house was in a lovely wooded area near a creek, where we were able to take walks in the neighborhood. The house was clean and comfortable and the host, Raymond, made it easy. I would highly recommend.
Thunder Hill Retreat was just what we needed! Three families stayed together here while the teen boys were competing in Mountain Bike race at Fair Hill. The location was quite close to the venue, and we really appreciated the quiet location in the woods. The house is well-stocked with amenities, impeccably clean, and comfortable for many people (we were 10!) I got compliments from my family and our friends all weekend for finding this gem.
The property is simply beautiful and serene. The location was private yet amidst a friendly neighborhood. The arrangements were impeccable and we had a five star experience. We had a very good time and the loft and the swings were a great hit with the kids :) (also the books, toys and games). Communicating with the owner was easy and we had everything we needed. We hope to return sometime soon.
This beautiful home is probably our favorite getaway rental ever! It was a perfect setup for everyone in our group of two families (four adults, 6 kids). For the "indoor" people in our group, the house is in pristine condition, very clean and comfortable, with many great places to lounge and relax. We loved reading the books of Mr. Martin's world travels, and the kids loved playing with the toys. For the outdoorsy people, it is an idyllic secluded cabin in the woods. We loved sitting on the deck enjoying the view and going on a rock scramble down to the creek (though be warned the trail is thorny and VERY steep!). Everyone loved the firepit at night. Also the craftsmanship of the wood furniture and the house itself is very impressive.
Just one note, the loft and another bedroom have skylights, so you may wake up with the sun unless you bring a sleep mask.
Would definitely recommend and would love to come back here!
We had a five sibling reunion--the youngest was 78. We made extensive use of the Keurig single cup coffee maker and the four recliner chairs. The front door handle was broken, but it was promptly fixed while we went to dinner. The guest book with information regarding the area was missing so we used Google and recommendations from people we interacted with. All communication was through VRBO because we weren't given a direct phone number. The location is very beautiful and rural with Amish farms and rolling hills. The listing didn't mention that there was no TV, dish washer or garbage disposal. The lack of a TV prevented us from watching the Westminster Dog Show and any sporting events.
