Had everything we needed

We enjoyed our stay. We came to ski at Burke, two couples and our adult children. It's a little further from Burke than we expected, about 15 minutes. The layout of the house was great for skiing, and storing gear. The layout and decor was great. We made a couple of big meals. The kitchen had everything we needed, was organized and labeled. We brought wood and made fires in the beautiful fireplace each night. It was great. I would definitely come again.

Perfect Getaway for Groups

Four couples for an annual ski trip reunion. Fully stocked kitchen, very comfortable bedrooms, open concept living room/kitchen/dining room for mingling and relaxing.

Perfect weekend getaway

This was the perfect location for 8 adults to enjoy the NEK. Cabin was very clean, bedrooms were comfortable. There is a small house at the end of the driveway but is otherwise entirely secluded. We really enjoyed the fireplace and the massive dining room table. Views from the porch are incredible!

Family Trip Mountain Biking & Hiking

We had a wonderful family weekend! The home was even more beautiful than the photos! We have 3 adult children & 3 teens which make it difficult for us to find a place w enough bedrooms for all! Everyone was more than comfortable! We enjoyed the swings on the front porch, game room, large open kitchen had everything for cooking for a big group and living room was comfortable with gorgeous high ceilings and overhead fans. The table was large enough for us all to play game night! The fire pit was ideal after dinner for roasting marshmallows. Some of us had to log on to do a little work & no problem w the internet while others had quiet time sipping coffee on the large wrap around deck! We enjoyed Kingdom Trails and some hiking but it was really about spending time together and Solitude was perfect! Will definitely be back! Thank you for sharing your home!

Magnifique chalet en bois rond à Burke

Nous sommes allés au chalet entre amis, 4 adultes et 4 ados, et nous avons adoré le séjour. Le chalet est grand, propre, chaleureux, bien pensé et bien garni. Manifestement les propriétaires ont le goût des choses bien faites. Seule ombre au tableau: il existe un champ de tir à proximité, et une des journées où nous étions au chalet coïncidait avec une journée de tirs. Nous sommes allés en vélo de montagne, donc ça ne nous a pas dérangé, mais ça l'aurait été pour quelqu'un qui veut passer du temps là. Cela dit, note de 5/5!

A slice of heaven in the NEK

Terrific location off of Burke Hollow Road. Situated off the road and out of view. It is a log cabin. Enough said. Nice wrap around porch with two swinging chairs. plenty of yard area and views of the woods. Well stocked....more plates, cups, glasses, bowls, utensils than needed.... we could have held a dinner party! In fact, had my cousin, her husband and two children for dinner one evening. The kids spent the night. The kids bedroom has two trundle beds, so all 3 slept in the same room. Their second sleep over ever (did their first last summer). The cabin is well furnished. There are games in the basement, plus laundry. Lots to do in the area. Great location to access the Kingdom Trails. Short distance to East Burke town center. Did a half day at Lake Willoughby. The kids did two half days at Darling Crest Stables on Darling Road (a 6.5 minute drive from the house). I recommend it if your kids love horses: they muck stalls, water and feed the horses, wash and brush the horses, then get to go for a ride. Jack really enjoyed it. Final comment: my son stated, "It is nice to rent a home that the owner's actually use themselves.....they have a better perspective of what one might want to have in the home." We highly recommend the home.
