Come to play, explore, or just relax. A lite remodel has kept its rustic charm, and freshened it up a bit. Steps away from the Cabin are trails and hills of the 25 acre mature forest. The Campfire area is light by torches and decorative lighting. Black River is a mere 1 mile hike through the forest. The new paved bicycle path a mile away down the bluff.

We stayed here for a week of remote work and skiing. The place was exactly what we needed. Fast internet, big enough for my husband and I with our small dog, and quiet! Also great: proximity to Big Powderhorn and Snow Basin. We worked half days and skied half days. Highly recommend!
This property is a quaint house, just a short drive from the snowmobile trail. The house was very clean and all amenities were available for a typical stay. It can comfortably sleep 6 adults. There is one bathroom and a full kitchen. Great option for snowmobile trips!
Very comfortable and provided all essentials. Great mud room for skis and snow shoes. Our dog was welcomed, which we really appreciated! Wish I could post her picture! Wonderful property! Close to all our favorites in the area too! Will definitely be back!
This was a cute little place with everything you would need. We brought our two dogs and it was perfect as there was no traffic around. I absolutely would stay here again!
This was the cleanest place we have ever stayed! Charlie was very friendly and helpful, will definitely stay at his properties again. It was great being able to bring my 2 labs with us! The property was beautiful and close to the snowmobile trails and restaurants.
We were looking for a quiet place from the hustle and bustle of the big city during the 4th of july holiday. We found peace and quiet at the cabin in da woods.
Beautiful historic area and the place was very clean and had everything we needed. Easy check-in and Charlie was wonderful. Very helpful and kind. We enjoyed riding the Iron Belle trail on our bikes, explored Interstate Falls and Little Girls Point, and had fantastic food at Jagger’s Ore House restaurant at the bottom of the hill. Great stay!!

Had a great stay at the cabin! Super quiet and peaceful. Little Girls Point is a must see for anyone new to the area, Lake Superior is amazing and the beach is full of beautiful stones. Club 28 had great food, unfortunately didn't get a chance to try Jagger's Ore House because of a power outage for the whole area. Highly recommend this trip!
Cute, clean, and comfortable cabin. Host was very quick to answer any questions. Close to many outdoor activities. We did not have a chance to walk the property, but it looked like a beautiful walk. Everything we needed to cook or grill was provided. We would rent again!
The cabin was easy to find and check into, with door code. Cabin has everything one needs and the surrounding grounds are beautiful. It was clean & just as described, with the quiet we were seeking. We would stay again, without question.
An emergency arose & we ended up stuck out at cabin without a car. There is one taxi in the area. Charles allowed us to extend our stay repeatedly when it was in shop. He even brought us food when we were running low!!

About the host
Hosted by Charlie Schafer
My wife and I love to hike and enjoy the splendour of upper MI. We decided to make our wooded cabin property available for other nature enthusiasts to enjoy.
Why they chose this property
The property is in the Anvil neighborhood on a bluff. A walk around Anvil offers views of up to 10 miles and other bluffs. The Cabin is located on 25 Acres of wonderful older growth forest with rolling hills, wildlife and natural fauna. Guests enjoy XC skiing and snow shoeing through the winter, while hiking and biking in the summer. All the ski Hills are a short drive away.
What makes this property unique
The seclusion of our forest is not found on 99% of rental properties. "Da Cabin in Da Woods" are off a paved and plowed township road. Than you venture back into the woods for your own enjoyment with nothing but woodland for hundreds of acres. Our 25 Acres are on the edge of modern services, while having the back country out the back door.
