Enjoyable Visit

The house is older, but everything worked well, and we had plenty of space. Our family consisted of 2 kids and 3 adults, and there were ample bedrooms to accommodate us. The screened in porch was great for enjoying dinner one evening that we cooked on the provided charcoal grill.

Every detail was perfect!

We stayed for a long weekend and the property was clean and every detail was perfect. I loved the personal touches and the host was very communicative. The photos don’t do it justice. My teenage daughter said “I could live here” and we had no complaints. Very charming and perfectly curated. Highly recommend!

Sisters Get Away

A great place to gather with your sisters. We visited Glendalough State Park, The Prairie Wetlands Learning Center, and climbed Inspiration Peak. The VRBO was a wonderful place to play games, make crafts and just sit around talking.

Magical Summer Stay!

Danielle was an amazing host and just a text away whenever we needed anything. We were looking for a place close to family that would allow us to work remotely and also be relaxing. Located in the heart of Battle Lake, we were able to walk wherever we needed to go (workout, groceries, dining, post office, etc). We began each day with a sunrise walk to the lake followed by a workout at Battle Lake's new fitness center and yoga at Never Better. The house wifi served our working needs with a kitchen that allowed us to easily cook our meals to hosting family. We found all we needed and so much more in our month-long stay. Can't wait to return next summer!

BEAUTIFUL!!

First off, Danielle is an amazing host. She had everything we needed, and then some! Very communicative, flexible, and made checking in and out so so easy. Amenities were great- we had such a fun time hanging out in the screened gazebo, coffee in the front sun room, and having plenty of room for a big breakfast in the dining room. Location was perfect. We really appreciated the 11am check out as well. We’ll definitely book again next time we’re in the area! THANK YOU!!

Sisters weekend

We spent a sisters weekend at this house and it was great. Communication was excellent with the owner, she was very helpful with any questions I had, with recommendations, and looking up events in the area. The house has such charm and is decorated with such a nice touch. The house was clean and so comfortable. Parking was good. It was easy to find. We felt very 'at home'. It has just about anything you would need. Within walking distance to downtown. It would be nice to stay again when it is warmer to enjoy the porches and outdoor gazebo area.

Originally hailing from Battle Lake, Minnesota, I traded the lakeside serenity for the sun-kissed shores of the Florida coast (for the meantime). As a child, I was surrounded by hospitality at my family's resort on Clitherall Lake, immersing myself in the art of creating cherished moments. Those summer traditions, steeped in deep childhood nostalgia, became the driving force behind our house in Battle Lake.

Lately, I've been finding solace in the quiet embrace of a good book- that is, when I can find it since I have 4 kids and 2 dogs running wild. A nod to my Scandinavian roots, I cherish cozy moments when I can, like that first sip of your morning coffee when it's a little foggy outside and there's a light breeze coming through your windows.

Indulging in cookies while sharing laughs and (and judgment) watching reality shows with my husband is a guilty pleasure that adds a sprinkle of sweetness to my evening.

My favorite part about hosting a place like this is hearing those special moments or stories that families tell. And it's a real treat when a child leaves behind a drawing or something they made during their stay. Words truly can't be placed for that feeling it gives.
