Private Cottage on 38 acres with two ponds and lake access.
Cozy cottage with covered deck and lots of space to roam. Has two ponds on the property for fishing and a short walk to Lake Eufaula. Some of the best crappie fishing on Lake Eufaula right out the back door with several coves on the lake. Backs up to Corp of Engineers property. Great hunting right out the back door for deer, wild boar, ducks, geese, and doves. Fantastic sunsets over Lake Eufaula. A must see in the evenings!

Family Truly enjoyed our stay. Place was great for us and our two dogs. The huge property gave our labor-doodle plenty-of space to run and enjoy. The house was very comfortable and allowed us to not only spread out, but also host a few Other family members for a great Thanksgiving Dinner.
The house is very cozy and sits on a beautiful piece of property. The ponds have perch that we caught and fried up. The kids had a blast they didnt want to leave. Would recommend for a stress free stay
Great place outside of town. Nice big property to venture out a little, a couple of little ponds for kids to fish in, catch some grasshoppers and they've got it made. Great communication with the hosts. Will definitely keep this place in mind the next time we are in the area.
If your looking for a house that is off the beaten path then this is it. We loved the location but if it rains very much you better have a truck and probably need 4wd. It rained a couple of inches the day we arrived and we needed 4wd to get to the house with our boat. The mattresses leave something to be desired for sure as you sink to the frame and can feel every spring. Minus those two things the house was exactly what we were looking for. The only other complaint was that the loghting leaves something to be desired but that could easily be fixed with some new light bulbs.what we were looking for. The bngcould
We really enjoyed our stay. It was a beautiful area. There were only a couple of minor things that we would have preferred been different. 1) no water pressure in kitchen sink; 2) the double-size mattress has seen better days; 3) the sustain peddle on the piano doesn't work. I was thrilled when I saw that there was a piano, but it wasn't in working condition; 4) it would be nice if the front porch steps had a hand rail. But overall, very pleasant stay.
Dave was a awesome man! Quick to respond and a lot of help for finding stuff around the lake! The ranch house has lake access right off the property and a incredible view of the lake right off the back patio. I can't wait to schedule another visit to this same place! We had an incredible 4th of July with memories that will last a life time! Thank you Dave!
the water pressure in the kitchen was bad and we literally could not find the ponds but those are my only two complaints . The reviews abt the ac being trash are people who just don’t know how to use it tbh, my group figured it out and it got icy cold. The pictures don’t do the place justice it is way better in person . The tv worked and the rooms were nice . There were great cooking utensils . I thoroughly enjoyed the place me and my group had the best time . Thank you for a great stay :)
Everything was as described in the listing. I took my kids out there to fish. They caught fish in both ponds and we walked down to the lake. The lake cove was nice and private. Will definitely stay again.

Pond is a joke/ duck pond is sewer
No water pressure. AC kept shutting off. Beds Hard as a Rock. Pond was as big as a pool. Duck pond was the sewer. Deck bought ready to collapse. Not worth $175/night
Property was convenient to where we were going in the area. Quiet and secluded location. Easy to get to. Comfortable beds. Kitchen looked to have cooking supplies needed but basic spices would be helpful. Also, we had to get coffee from store because we couldn’t find any. Extra trash bags would be helpful. Thankful that there was body soap, laundry soap & a washer & dryer. Roku was great to have. A/C and ceiling fans worked great & were quiet, comfortably cool. We enjoyed sitting out on back porch visiting with each other. We had a bit of trouble getting property padlock opened but I think a spray of WD40 would fix it. Loved the ease of the door code lock, easy to use. Overall, it’s a great little cabin to sleep over at. Thank you, Dave, for letting us stay at your place.
The house was super cute, liked all that was available, however guests need to be able to adjust temperature as needed for personal comfort and not just have a preset of 77 degrees. One could hardly stay inside as it was hot, humid and uncomfortable. It only slightly cooled off at night. We had to open the doors to be able to keep it decent inside. Also can ya make sure there are batteries for the remotes? We had to go buy batteries. Also can there be an option of TV service in at least the master bedroom? We sleep with noise and the TV on. We don’t have ROKU but were able to navigate to some nature shows we prefer watching. That’s really the only thing I would be mindful of for the house. Now onto the ease of getting to fishing ponds. The pictures show nicely maintained ponds, this was FAR from what we experienced. We had to wade through grass and weeds that LITERALLY came up waist level and some places higher. There was huge amount of ticks due to the extremely tall un managed field. The one pond where the picnic table is wasnt NEAR what it showed in the pictures. There was only one area to cast off and that was very difficult due to the canopy of tree branches that where overgrown. The rest of the edge and surrounding areas of the pond was surrounded by overgrown trees and the poison Ivy, Oak, and Sumac where out of control. The pond was surrounded at least or up to 3 feet from waters edge of all 3 of these poisonous plants. More review space is needed.

About the host
Hosted by Dave Humke
Dave and Jan Humke own this property, as well as a ranch in Colorado and land in Louisana. We spend half our time at Lake Eufaula at a home in Longtown Landing and half at our ranch in Colorado.
Why they chose this property
We first purchased this property in 2006 and began renting it on VRBO in 2010. In 2018 we rented it long term and decided to put it back on VRBO recently. We had excellent reviews with VRBO and the number one item mentioned from guests was the seclusion and sunsets.
What makes this property unique
This property provides a lot of privacy and outdoor living. The ponds are stocked with bass, catfish, and crappie. The lake is within walking distance from the house and has several coves with excellent fishing.
