We are a Wisconsin family encouraging family vacations in the great north woods. In an effort to promote family getaways, we are currently offering our family residence as a vacation retreat.

Located in the heart of the Northern Highland State Forest and on the peaceful bay of Razorback Lake, this modern facility will suit all your relaxing and recreational needs. Whether you're a hiker, biker, fisherman, kayaker or shopper, the Razorback Retreat will not disappoint. With quick access to Eagle River, Minoqua, St. Germain and Boulder Junction the shopper in you will get your fill of unique boutiques and familiar shopping destinations. Countless lakes, rivers, and streams will help you get lost for days kayaking and fishing. Enjoy a relaxing bike ride on a paved bike trail that stretches all the way from Boulder Junction to Sayner.

Razorback retreat

Great time on razorback lake yet again. Would recommend this property to anyone looking to do a fishing trip, countless gorgeous lakes in the area to explore. Also a great place to just relax and unwind with friends or family. We'll be back

Razorback retreat

Great time as always, been here many times and never disappoints. Beautiful house, beautiful lake, beautiful area. Camped in this area for many years as a kid but camping is tougher these days. So glad we found such great place to stay on the same lake that gave me so many great childhood memories. Thanks Larry

Annual Family Snowmobiling Trip (w/no snow!!!!)

This is the second year in a row that we stayed here for our yearly family snowmobiling trip. Unfortunately this year we had no snow but still got away with the family. Both years, for what we look for in our VRBO homes, this one is perfect. We plan on using it next year.

RAZORBACK RESORT

Razorback Resort is totally awesome! Thank you, Larry, for sharing this beautiful home with my family! The home, the property, the lake are totally magnificent! We enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, fire pit, patio, walking the driveway and seeing all the deer!

Northwoods Family Vacation

We enjoyed a week in northern Wisconsin with our daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren at this wonderful family home. There was plenty of room for everyone. The grandkids loved playing in the sand and watching the wildlife wandering through the yard. The location is great - far enough away to be peaceful, but close enough to dining and activity venues. The property is well maintained; and is equipped with all the necessities for a comfortable stay. We look forward to returning again next year.

Razorback Retreat is spectacular

This was our second year at Razorback Retreat and just as amazing as the first year! We love the layout of the place, it really works for 2 families beautifully. The lake is gorgeous, with great fishing and frogging. Larry is such a great host, we feel so lucky to have found this wonderful property.

Awesome Property

This is a great place to stay as the property, location, and house is as near perfect as you can get. Not a single negative for us during the stay. I would only tell anyone thinking about using it to snowmobile out of, to realize the driveway and parking can be interesting. But small price to pay for this place!!!!

Beautiful home!

The house is amazing and had everything we needed. It’s in a great location for snowmobiling. We came knowing it was close to plum lake which has a marked lake trail. We had a little issue at first figuring out where to get onto the lake without riding roads forever. We eventually found a boat ramp off of razorback road not to far from the house that worked out well for getting onto the lake. We will definitely rent this house again in the future.

Everything was great! Internet want strong enough for streaming movies or Teams meetings.

The place is set up for a great up north experience! Very roomy and everything you need to enjoy some wonderful meals. We loved the size of the lake and it wasn't too busy in August at all.

A perfect weekend

This home and property were absolutely beautiful. The house was impeccably clean and had everything we needed for a nice Labor Day weekend getaway with family. The space was perfectly suited for all eight members of our family, spanning three generations. If that wasn’t enough, Razorback Lake is a true gem. As a family of paddlers, we truly enjoyed exploring the lake’s islands and bays and coming back to enjoy hotdogs over the fire.

Memories made!

Our children, their spouses, and our three young grandchildren spent a week in this marvelous northwoods home. In many ways it reminded me of my parents’ lake home when I was younger. The home was spacious and well maintained. The kitchen contained everything we needed for meals. Plenty of rooms for everyone. Great views of the lake. We were able to observe plenty of wildlife on the property. And everyone enjoyed playing in the water at the shore. The hosts were very helpful.

Razorback Retreat, a little slice of heaven

We loved our stay at Razorback Retreat! The house was extremely comfortable and fit our family’s needs perfectly. The two beautiful first floor bedrooms are perfect for our senior family members, and the bathroom for these have a walk in shower. The furnishings and decor were lovely, it felt like we were staying with family or friends. The lake itself was awesome, we’ve never stayed on Razorback before…great fishing, and the kayaks were awesome for such a calm lake. We rented a pontoon and did some tubing as well, we were the only people on the lake! The whole experience was amazing, we were all sad to leave! Thanks Larry for sharing your family home with us!

Couples snowmobile trip

Fantastic home for a snowmobile weekend. We had 4 couples, tons of room for all to spread out. Great central location with plum lake access at the boat ramp. Money well spent and would definitely stay again, maybe in the summer! Thanks Larry!

Best Ever

We’ve been coming up to the Northwoods for years but everyone in our group agreed that this was the best vacation ever. The house was beautiful, roomy enough for everyone to spread out, and was very well equipped. The grounds were gorgeous with all the fall color and our daily visitors really kept my great granddaughter happy. She loved feeding the deer with corn and apples. The kids loved The kayaks and the rowboat and were on the water quite a bit. All in all. — Best vacation ever!

My name is Larry Braasch. I'm a resident of Eagle River. I have years of experience designing homes and actually designed and built the Razorback Retreat.

Why they chose this property

My parents bought the property in the 70's with a small 2 bedroom cottage on it. Winters were tough without running water so we decided to build a year round home.

What makes this property unique

Beautiful scenery, great fishing, kayaking, quiet location. Seated in the Northern Highlands State Forest only a hop, skip, and a jump away from Eagle River, Minoqua, and Boulder Junction.
