A slice of heaven!

This well appointed home perfectly suited our family ranging in age from 10-80. The kitchen is stocked by a host who clearly cooks and bakes. The layout is relaxed and makes it easy to grill and dine outdoors. The private lane is quiet and picturesque and conveniently situated near several beaches.

Wonderful week with friends

We had such a relaxing week staying in this home with our friends. Our kids ran all around the huge backyard as we enjoyed hanging out listening to music using the Apple TV sound system. We also loved visiting the vineyard nearby and the beach. Thanks for all your helpful tips, Perky - we had a perfect week.

A little slice of heaven!

This house was perfect for us! Even though the main reason for our trip was to attend a wedding in Portsmouth (~30 minutes away), we wanted to find a peaceful, quaint New England town to stay in and reunite as a family. Those of us staying at the house came from Boston, Houston and Denver - a true family reunion! The modern, gourmet kitchen was a real treat to cook our meals in, the great patio with table and chairs was ideal for dining al fresco! My husband, who spent his childhood summers in France said it brought back memories! Our 3-year old son loved running around on the expansive green lawns, watching the birds, chipmunks and the white squirrel "Blanche"! It was also pretty exciting to see wild turkeys our first morning and a coyote our last morning! Overall, we had a fabulous time. The beds are comfortable, especially the master bed, the house is clean and spacious, the yard is serene and the location is near the harbour, beaches and town. Our one wish would be to have a big umbrella installed in the patio table to offer shade while eating outdoors. Little Compton is an undiscovered treasure - no traffic and few tourists yet beautiful scenery, shorelines with a lighthouse, vineyards, art studios, cafés, historic towns and farms... and a perfect home to stay in on Quoquonset Lane!

Little Compton Vacation

This well laid out and spacious house is located in a very nice, quiet area in Little Compton, RI. First impression is one of a nice lot, great parking and a yard in need of weeding and attention. The interior offers a nice layout and perfect separation of living and sleeping areas. The large living room is perfect to read and relax and the smaller living area to watch TV. The beds were clean and comfortable. The master bath shower needed attention to cleaning with very unacceptable mold and mildew covering the interior from floor to ceiling (which we cleaned and scrubbed removing 98%). The rest of the first floor needs deep cleaning - especially the kitchen. Nothing is moved to wipe, dust or vacuum. Dishes needed washing as did all cooking items. The cleaning staff needs to be taught to clean or changed. The exterior patio is lovely to sit, relax, read, sun or have a beverage. The weeds are overtaking the patio and garden. Broken chairs should be repaired or removed. The property manager was contacted and immediately took care of the trash not being picked up and the lack of hot water we experienced. We put out ant traps and removed a few rodents but the manager needs to talk to the interior insect and rodent control companies as well as cleaning and yard maintenance vendors. Less than acceptable. We took advantage of the guide book found in the property and ate at local restaurants, bought from local farm stands, local bakery and ice creamery and the LC General Store. Great Experiences! Newport is relatively close for touring, shopping and restaurants. Sitting at the local beach was very nice. We made the best of a less than perfect situation and adjusted to enjoy our experience in Little Compton and touring Southern New England.

Amazing!

Perky's house is such a gem. This beautiful cape-style home is nestled on a quiet private road. Her backyard is spacious and secluded. The outdoor patio area provides wonderful seating next to a fully-functional grill. Activities and conversation flow seamlessly between the outdoor space and her newly renovated kitchen. After reading previous reviews, I knew my family and I were in for a treat. Perky is responsive, helpful, and welcoming. She was kind to let us use the bikes kept in her garage. I highly recommend taking a morning bike road down to the harbor. Little Compton is a beautiful vacation town with easy access to beaches, golf courses, and walking areas. I cannot think of a better place (or home) for a weekend getaway. Thanks again, Perky!

Quiet paradise.

Another truly enjoyable, satisfying long weekend here on this so beautiful a country lane. The house fits the area perfectly - comfortable elegance, enough room for 4+ easily. Kitchen and outside patio area are designed well and make enjoyment come naturally and relaxing is a breeze. Little Compton - always a treasure. Great location in the center of things, so close to all. We felt very comfortable and appreciated with our warm, friendly hostess, who knows all there is to know in area. Highly recommend.

Awesome House/Wonderful owner

This house was just great! It had everything we needed and wanted. We used the bikes, the bar-b-q, the yard, etc... Pricilla was not intrusive, but very helpful and responsive when we couldn't find the washer and dryer. Great house for kids to play in the yard. Everything was clean and neat. I would definitely love to rent this place again. Beautiful neighborhood. Just be careful not to wander onto the neighbor's lawn by accident. She has big dogs there.

Ahhh

This place is great. We got a great night sleep in the comfy and quiet bedrooms and relaxed in the welcoming common rooms. The home is thoughtfully laid out with lots of space and lots of spaces. The kitchen is compact and complete - perfect for preparing meals or just putting things together for a quick bite. The house is in a lovely area close enough for a walk (or bike ride) to the beach and a short way to the charming Little Compton. The host is responsive and obviously thoughtful and thorough in thinking of guest needs. We will be back!

Luxurious home away from home

This home provides the perfect getaway. The house is perfectly maintained and supplied with everything you'll need. The kitchen is filled with all the gadgets, dishware, spices, etc. that you could ever need. We loved sitting at the beautiful granite countertop for breakfast, watching the birds feed just outside the window. As for the bedrooms, the sheets are soft, the pillows fluffy, and the bath towels are super luxurious. Every room in this home is comfortable and inviting. I loved every minute in this house and was sad to leave!

Beautifully appointed home in quaint New England town

We rented this lovely house in July for a family vacation and 30th birthday celebration for our daughter. Not only is the house beautiful inside, the property is fantastic! Apple trees in the backyard, flower beds filled with all kinds of perennials, hydrangea bushes surrounding the house made it so fun to walk around, and for our 2 year old grandson and our golden retrievers to run around! We were greeted with a beautiful flower arrangement in the kitchen, cut from the gardens. We also loved watching the myriad varieties of birds who feasted at the bird feeders on the patio. The downstairs has been completely refinished to high standards with granite counters and a fantasy steam shower in the master bath. My favorite room is the large living room at the back of the house that has cathedral ceilings, big fireplace, window seat and two sets of French doors overlooking the patio and busy birds. It was such a quiet place to relax with a book and feel totally at peace. The kitchen is fully equipped for guests -- just bring your own food and your every utensil, container, pot, pan, serving dish is waiting for you. There are plenty of towels and sheets provided and also all kinds of recreational items at the house (bikes, helmets, kayaks, beach chairs, etc.) so you don't need to pack your car to the gills! We spent our days at South Beach, which is about 3 miles from the house and an easy bike ride. If you drive there plan on arriving early since parking spots are limited. We went into Newport for our daughter's birthday, which is about a 45 minute drive so if you are looking for someplace close to all that Newport has to offer just know it is a bit of a jaunt. We were particularly grateful that Perky allows pets in her lovely home. We knew that is a sign of someone with a big heart! We loved our stay and highly recommend this Home Away from home! We were sad to leave!

A gem hidden in the country

The perfect place to sit back, relax, and enjoy your surroundings. We stayed here for a week with 4 adults, a 3 year old and a German Shepard. We also had guests stopping by and spending some time with us. Perky's home is lovely - elegant yet homey and completely equipped with the necessities. Sakonnet Vineyard is delightful and you can find just about everything you might need at Wilbur's General Store. South Shore Beach is less than 5 minutes away by car and perfect for young children. My suggestion is, if you're going to be staying for the week - get the week long parking pass, it's cheaper in the long run. Although there is not a lot to do in the immediate area, you can certainly drive to more touristy locations. That is if you feel like leaving the house once you've spent a morning on the patio! Perky is most helpful with everything you might need. We would definitely rent this home again.

Perfect Weekend

Our Stay here was wonderful. We booked at the last minute because of a mishap at our other booking, and Perky could not have been more accomodating. The house is even more beautiful than advertised. We had a get together for a wedding in the area that weekend and the yard was perfect! The house is very well stocked and quite comfortable. We could not have been happier and would recommend this booking to everyone.

Charming & Peaceful

The house is situated on a quiet street, with beautiful gardens and birds galore. You can walk down the lane, enjoy the other homes and see the water. The house is fabulous - with new bathrooms and a well stocked kitchen to gather around and everyone can help cook. Bright and cheerful, you won't want to leave. A short ride to Newport for shopping and crowd watching can be a fun day.

A relaxing, beautiful escape

The Little Compton house is wonderful, and a nice option to a hotel (none available in this quiet farming community). On a private way, you feel in touch with the superb views and removed from the public. The home is comfortable, with many options for gathering ... at the large kitchen island, in the living room, or the windowed L off the dining room. Bedrooms are clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The homeowner is a pleasure.

Little Compton Gem

The picture does not do justice to this property. The location is accurate. The lane is quiet and very private and there is a lovely little walk out the front door with peaceful water views. The house and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is gorgeous and overlooks the pretty patio. There is plenty of room to spread out. The owner is available for any questions and concerns and I would highly recommend this property. There are kayaks available for your use. There is a cute little center with a grocery store and restaurant where all the locals gather. The food is excellent and very reasonable. If interested in more upscale dining the boathouse is a 25 minute drive up to Tiverton. Sakonnet Winery is just up the road. This is a lovely home and I would be a little cautious with very young children as there are many areas where little hands could do mischief. The master is on the first floor but the main entry is not wheelchair accessible. Great property for active teens that like kayaking and biking or just a fun getaway for "girls getaway" that make their own good time.

I would rate this an excellent experience!

This tranquil setting in Little Compton provides a relaxing holiday away from the cares, stress, and traffic of the larger cities. It offers many miles of safe walking, bike riding trails, beaches, and a wonderful, caring hostess. The “downtown” is truly a quaint New England hamlet yet it has a very efficient post office, grocery store, and a quaint coffee house where the locals gather. During the summer months, there are all ages living here. Our hostess, Perky is quite popular and involved and she was kind enough to introduce us to the local clubs, church, charities, and personalities. We met some very interesting bicyclists, sailors, boaters, and hikers. If you like to garden, the setting lends itself to enjoying the acreage and the privacy on the lane that is Quoquonsett. Just sitting out on the back patio and enjoying the sun, the flowers, shrubs, and trees in this idyllic setting is extremely relaxing. Time does stand still. Rhode Island is the ocean state. If you go out for a walk, you are surrounded by water. The newly renovated kitchen and cooking facilities make it a pleasure to stay at home although there are some very good local restaurants. I would recommend the Stone House. Portuguese and wonderful seafood are also available locally. Newport is a forty minute trip if mansions, food and shopping are of interest. The bedrooms, baths, and air conditioned rooms enhance the experience. We had little need of the air conditioning over the three and one-half months we were living there. The large TV with many stations allows for evenings at home. There is large office with internet facilities, fax, and free use of the telephone. I would rate this an excellent experience!

Beautiful House

My family recently vacationed in Little Compton and could not have been happier with our stay. This spacious home was perfect for our family; with 7 adults, 3 young children and our dogs, we never once felt crowded. Little Compton is a very charming New England town with beautiful ocean views. I would recommend this home to anyone looking to get away from it all for a relaxing vacation.

Better than expected

We rented the last two weeks in June and were thrilled with everything about the house. We were there with two children and spouses and a toddler. The house is spacious, lovely, and as equipped as it could possibly be, especially the kitchen. The gardens were a highlight for us. Huge shade trees and rolling lawns stretch off the stone patio and invite you to put a chair under a tree and read a book. The kids played bocce and frisbee and had a ball. We bicycled to secluded beaches, the vineyard, and local town. It was just a great vacation!

Great Place to Enjoy Little Compton

My family and I enjoyed this immaculate, spacious, relaxing home in Little Compton. We enjoyed morning walks and evening bike rides with spectacular views! Gorgeous location near beaches, wonderful farm stands, and fresh fish market. This house has old time New England charm with all the comforts and amenities of modern living. The owner provided a wonderful guide with house and area information (activities, restaurants etc.) so we could take advantage of all. We highly recommend this home and we plan to book our stay for next summer.

There is something magical about Little Compton - certainly it has kept its old time charm with stonewalls and classic beaches - but it is more that that, something unidentifiable, but there nevertheless. I am an avid bike rider and the riding couldn't be better here, the views constantly take your breath away and make you want to ride again and again. I think everyone would find something wonderful to do here.

What makes this property unique

This property is near Sakonnet Point, the hub for many summer visitors. Only a 1.5mi from Warren's Point, .5 mi to Sakonnet Golf Club, and 1 mi to Sakonnet Point puts this home right where you need to be.
