Our family could not have been more pleased with this lodging which is well maintained, spacious, well equipped, inviting, and feels like a true home. The grounds and nearby areas are great for walks, photography, and being in nature. Stella is a wonderful host, and Len could not have been more gracious showing us the labyrinth. His dahlias are amazing! We look forward to returning next summer. Thank you.
Beautifully decorated and very luxurious, Wacky Nut Farm is a very peaceful and serene place to stay. Conveniently located near Winslow, it’s a great location for exploring the island. Stella and Len were very responsive to our needs as well. We definitely would love to come back and stay longer,
My family and I had a wonderful stay at the guest house. The house is beautifully decorated with lots of lovely art. Each bedroom had plenty of privacy and great views. We were unsure about what it would be like to be situated on a converted horse farm, but we found it enchanting. We especially liked the gorgeous community garden around the corner from the house. We also loved the very short walk down to the secluded Hal's Hill Lookout park which features a one of a kind labyrinth. Stella was easy to communicate with, and we enjoyed learning from her and her partner Len about the area.
The guesthouse is great - listing is accurate, but it’s somehow even more charming in person! We booked it for 7 guests and it was well stocked with anything you’d need for a weekend stay (like towels and kitchen supplies). We happened to visit on the hottest weekend on record in WA and although there is no A/C, there was a fan in each room that helped a lot (Stella, the host, also checked in on us to see how we were doing!)The fridge is a bit bigger than a mini fridge, which was a pleasant surprise! It is about a 10 min drive into “town”. One of our group left behind a necklace after we all had left and Stella was kind enough to mail it after finding it :) Overall, definitely recommend the stay.
Super unique but all the comforts of something traditional
My wife and 2 kids under 3 stayed for the weekend and really enjoyed the peaceful, isolated grounds that still kept us a short drive to some beaches, parks and downtown. The communication with Stella leading up to and during the stay was outstanding. Would definitely stay here again.
Fun little trails run throughout the large property, and the guest house was very cute and clean. We stayed for a moms getaway and we were very happy with the beautiful scenery and immaculate grounds. We walked down the road a bit and found some gorgeous trails and a cool labyrinth park to explore. It is very quiet and secluded, so definitely not a place to get wild, and be mindful if spooking the horses! Would definitely stay again.
Our family of seven (age range 11-75) ALL loved this stay! The accommodations were just as described if not better. Spacious, clean and very comfortable. We are only regretting not staying longer.

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Definitely felt outsiders were unwelcome
The interior of the rental unit is lovely and as described.
However, shortly before our arrival we received an email letting us know that the primary business of Wacky Nut is as a high end horse boarding and training facility, and that we were not to interfere with that or bother the horses or horse people. The tone was not welcoming. We arrived without interacting with a person.
On one of the days I was reprimanded for driving over 3 mph on the short driveway out between the rental unit and the closed exit gate. I had rolled the vehicle past the loose dogs and horse people watching me, then perhaps sped up to 5 mph for the last bit prior to stopping at the gate. I am a rule follower but it is not easy to drive 3 mph...
Then I fell on the dark inside curve of the stairs down to the landing on the last evening, and am now dealing with the consequences of a forearm fracture. The only thing we received after leaving was a reminder that we were to be sure to carry all of our used towels down to the laundry room next to the landing. (Checking on this was how I fell the night before.)
I am unclear why they rent this unit if they clearly don't want outsiders on the property.
We loved staying here! This is a beautiful property and very well maintained and managed. The rooms are spacious and clean - everything you need. It feels like a remote retreat but you’re only 14 minutes in the car to town - very easy. Wonderful views of the property from second story balconies - just lovely.
We could not have asked for a better place to stay for a family vacation. The guest house is perfect for a family who want some quality time together in a beautiful setting. Stella and her team made us feel welcome! We can’t wait to come back!

An absolutely PERFECT stay on the island!
I was lucky enough to stay at Wacky Nut Farm and left refreshed and feeling well taken care of. Private, easy to find yet off the beaten path, stunningly beautiful, cozy including a warm little stove, well equipped little kitchenette, a great SHOWER, kind staff who encouraged me to relax and I DID! I felt a little guilty enjoying this large house by myself but it was the perfect respite. Thank you so much!

Peaceful & beautiful retreat
Our family of 5 stayed at the Wacky Nut & we could not have been more pleased. It is nicely appointed & there is ample room for both privacy & roaming around. The proximity to “town” was convenient & we really enjoyed observing a horse farm in action. Stella, Rick & Dolly were all welcoming & helpful & quick to respond if ever we needed something. I highly recommend this wonderful retreat!

This was our second stay at your property and we simply love it! From the moment you walk in you feel at home and the property with the horses is simply beautiful and puts you straight into relaxation mode. Every room is absolutely gorgeous from the art pieces on the wall to the smallest little décor. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

Wonderful Girlfriends Getaway!!
We booked the Guest House at Wacky Nut Farm for a girlfriends birthday getaway for two nights. It is a beautiful house and property and Stella the manager couldn't have been nicer. It was very nice having three bedrooms and bathrooms so we could all have our own space. The beds were very comfortable! The kitchen is a mini kitchen but we only used it for breakfast so it worked fine for us, it has a great Keurig and toaster and the granola that Stella left for us was amazing! The house is 10 minutes to Bainbridge with great restaurants that we took advantage of. The ATT cell service is not great in the house (Does work outside and we could text from the house) but Verizon service is really good and the house phone is available for use...also the WiFi worked great!! The house is quiet, beautifully decorated and wonderful for a getaway....we were kicking ourselves for not staying another night, it didn't dawn on us until after we had packed up and left that we should have asked if we could stay longer!! All of the staff on the property were welcoming and helpful :)
