Great House, Nicely Appointed and Clean - NO WIFI or CELL Service
The house was really nice. The drive up the hill a little exciting but after the first few days got used to it.
Everything in the house was new, the plates, pots and pans were in great shape and everything needed was there.
Furniture was clean and well chosen. I rent the house for the view and it was really nice view of the mountains. There is a little hummingbird feeder on the window and there was a continuous visit of birds to the feeder all day long.
The big problem was wifi. Lately my cell phone has 4g internet access nearly everywhere so if satellite internet service is bad I have a workaround. In this case there was no Verizon internet connectivity for my cell phone. The problems with wifi
- The speed was 0.14Mbits / second which is unusable. Average Viasat service speed is 16Mbits / second - 100x this speed
- Called viasat to troubleshoot and they said i had exceeded my monthly allowance of 21GB and allowed me to top-up 10GB to restore my speed (prior renter had used up). I said yes. But problem still not solved
- Called the property manager Anne. Told her that think self solved the problem and there would be small fee for additional usage
- Determined that Viasat speed boost did not work
- Called / messaged Anne (and local Aaron) 20x times without good communication on how resolution was coming
- Finally on Friday Viasat called me back (final day of trip). He determined that the speed to the modem at the house was 18Mbit (good) and that the router was the problem. Router locked in a closet and property manager does not have key to reboot.
A great house and a good stay but i could not plan hikes, pay bills, do work timesheet or event submit a complaint on VRBO. For some reason the owner / property manager were unable to resolve the issue for the entire trip. I was sold a house with internet access and got a house without it. And no phone internet access either. So buyer beware - if you rent this house and expect internet access ask them to send you a speedtest before you rent. Speedtest.net takes just a second.
My husband and I wanted to stay at a beautiful cabin, out in the woods. This property did not disappoint. The views were breathtaking and the cabin was a perfect mix of spacious yet cozy. We loved every minute spent here and are thankful for such a pleasant experience.
We had a party group, me 68, my wife 62, our pastor and his wife in their mid 70 s and a couple great friends in there 70 s.
Everyone raved about the view, and how peaceful and relaxing the trip was
A sincere thank you Anne for great memories.
This was our first trip to Nantahala Forest and the views were break taking. This property is located up a large gravel road but was easily maneuvered in both an AWD Audi and mini van. Upon arriving we entered to a large open driveway and were able to get in the house easily with owners instructions. The sunshine beaming through the large open windows, and gorgeous Mountain View’s were just what we were looking for. The property has a large open kitchen and living area, 2 large bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry on the first floor. The downstairs opens up to more seating, entertainment and game area. There was also an additional bedroom and bathroom. Most of our time was spent relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying the sunrise and sunset on the large porch that had ample seating for all. Although this was a quick trip, there were opportunities close for rafting and other adventures not far from this location. The property is also managed by the Lakes end group, who took great care of us while staying. This was a magical mountain getaway. Would recommend to friends and family.
With Covid-19 everything is just so scary specially the idea of staying in a hotel, but this place was different it’s secluded, packed with all the amenities, clean and comfortable
Beautiful cabin!! Everything we needed was here. We spent our days hiking, tubing, and rafting and enjoyed coming back to the cabin at night. The hot tub was appreciated after hiking. Wonderful views. The driveway up is not for the faint of heart, but was doable. Thank you!!
Incredible view. Beautiful, well appointed cabin. Excellent location.
We just finished a 7 night stay at Quiet Haven. So beautiful, so easy and so much to do. One thing, we have a 4x4 Tahoe which made the drive up the driveway fun, but with just a 2wd vehicle you may find the driveway challenging in rain or especially snow.
That being said, the cabin is at the top of a mountain and has awesome, unobstructed views. It sits just off Wayah Road - one of those mountain roads that provides miles and miles of nature, which is the sole reason we go to the mountains. Just sheer beauty.
On our stay, we rented a pontoon boat at Lakes End Marina ( an absolute Top Notch establishment), white water rafted at Nantahala Adventures Fast River Company (Highly recommended), did gem mining at Masons Mine (lots of fun for the kids and good rainy day choice), visited Bryson City (Deep Creek hiking is great!), visited Franklin (awesome) and simply relaxed in the cabin one day.
We hated leaving! We come from Florida to the mountains of NC every year and this is by far the best cabin and location we have rented! We highly recommend this cabin and this area!!!
Cabin was great. View was perfect and place was quiet. Great place to disconnect for a few days. Communication was excellent. Internet is quite limited and pool/pingpong/airhockey table is in disrepair, but again that view makes up for it. It must be spectacular in the fall.
Cabin is in a secluded area when compared to others. Very quiet at this time with mostly river noise that covers the distant but light traffic. The cabin is nice and well kept.
Great place for groups and families! Gorgeous view and great location.
We really enjoyed this cabin, it was the perfect location. It was secluded enough without feeling too far out and isolated. The views are unbelievable!
Good stay, floors needed some attention when we arrived but this was handled quickly and with good attitude. We did have trouble with the wifi not working the last few days. Not sure but I think it was a router issue, locking us out. Other people could log on just not us. It worked fine the first couple days. this was never resolved. I would recommend the cabin if the WiFi was addressed or you do need it.
What a gorgeous place to stay! There is so much room and everything you need. I loved the separate living spaces of the upstairs and downstairs. The amenities were above and beyond. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
