About this property

36 acre getaway directly on Nolin River!

Your adventure starts here! Take advantage of everything this property has to offer.

**We are opening again starting Aug. 29, 2024 after installing electricity and remodeling!

Fishing, paddle boarding, bonfires, hiking, kayaking and amazing starry nights. Our property is situated on the Nolin river in Grayson County, KY, about 40 minutes from Mammoth Cave!

Glamping: Stay in our cozy 24X14 cabin which is fully electric - comfortable queen-sized bed with new mattress! Or enjoy primitive camping - 36 acres to explore.

Also a great outdoor event venue featuring 2 acres of flat, open space! Inquire with the owner about event rates.

Kayaking, Paddle-boarding:
Take the steps on our property to Nolin River and meander through the countryside in a canoe, kayak or on a paddle-board. Please bring your own watercraft. The walk from our cabin to the river takes about 10 minutes and includes steep terrain.

Boating:
Wax Marina and boat launch at Nolin Lake only a 12 minutes drive.

Fishing:
A stocked pond only steps away from cabin. You can walk around the entire perimeter of the pond on nice flat surfaces. We currently have lots of bluegill and a few bass in the pond. For the more experienced angler, fish all day on Nolin River (on property) or Nolin Lake (12 minute drive). Catch bluegill, bass, crappie, catfish and more and enjoy the scenic overlook.

Accommodations and amenities:
Cabin sleeps 5 people comfortably - two on queen sized bed and space for 2-3 kids in loft. A small kitchen table for eating plus coffee maker and a mini fridge for storing perishables. Kerosene heater available for exceptionally cold nights. Otherwise, the cabin has A/C or electric space heater (provided). Picnic tables and grill located outdoors. Yard hydrant with hose connected to county water located just outside of cabin.

Enjoy a quiet evening gazing at the stars around a bonfire at our large fire pit near the pond. Or take it easy on the covered deck attached to the pole barn only steps away from the cabin. Toilet and sink are located in the pole barn (cabin has no facilities).

There is a nice private open area just beyond the fire pit for nearly any activity or game. Play corn hole, throw a frisbee into the disc golf net, play kickball or bring an inflatable pool and fill it up with water from our hose and simply enjoy the peace and quiet this property has to offer. You can sleigh ride down the hill when it snows. Many options here!

Come out to the country and enjoy the fresh air and space to roam. You deserve it!

Cabin Stay near Mammoth Cave
This is a great property for a weekend trip, with under an hour to the Mammoth Cave National Park. There are also plenty of other options around the area such as canoeing/kayaking and fishing. Martin was a great host and very helpful through the whole booking experience. The online listing is accurate to the property and cabin. I would highly recommend a stay here!

Absolutely one of the most charming getaways yet! Our country location made our visit to Mammoth Cave National Park fantastic. It was enlightened by the property itself and dealing with one of the most kindest and thoughtful host ever! We arrived on Monday and was greeted by Martin. He made sure to be there when we arrived just to show us around and explain the generator system since that is what powers the power in the sleeping cabin. Since our trip was during some of the coldest nights yet, Martin made sure to equip us with enough propane to run the generator for our entire stay. He even supplied the extra blankets for my kiddos since we were limited on what we packed since coming from long distance. The property was beautiful! We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit as well as the river for fishing. If you’re looking for a charming country atmosphere to unwind this is it!

About the host

We’ve always love the outdoors, and we want other people to enjoy it. We work full-time in the city, but get to the farm as much as we can. It’s a really special place for us or we can unwind, but also get in some great exercise. The scenery is incredible, especially Nolin River, and the lake.

Why they chose this property

If you really want to get away and take in beautiful Kentucky scenery, this is the place to be. I can fish all day on the river and not see another person except the occasional kayaker.

What makes this property unique

And in this space, you can stretch out and be yourself. It’s private, and you feel close connection to nature. There’s nothing like building a campfire and looking up at billions of stars at night. In the summer, we often have strawberries to pick. And then the fall, it’s pumpkin, picking time!
