We stayed 3 nights in June. The listing is misleading. It is not a "Movie-like, lake house" It's a townhouse. The description of the bedrooms is accurate. It has space for a large family like ours. It needs maintenance both outside and inside. The pictures do not accurately reflect the current condition of the property. Plants are growing in the front gutters, and weeds on the privacy fence. Both attract insects.
Issues were primarily environmental. A/C did not maintain a comfortable temperature. It was 77 when we arrived. We adjusted the thermostat; however, it took 10 hours to cool the townhouse. The upstairs ended up much cooler than the downstairs. The A/C runs constantly and makes an odd noise all the time. The temp climbed back to 77 even though we left it at 68 when gone. Made for very uncomfortable sleeping. The host said we misused the A/C. Two other reviews report issues with the A/C. The basic cleaning was adequate; however, the ceiling fans are filthy; master ceiling fan has a broken fan about ready to fall off, and the ceiling fan in the landing fell when it was turned on narrowly missing one of our family members. There are several electric plugs dangling from the main TV. The picture online does not show this.
Came back from our outing and had over 50 carpenter ants throughout the house. Mostly downstairs. Master shower had hair and dental floss in it. The master bedroom sliding door does not lock. No food prep space in the kitchen. Be aware.
Nice little house for a family in a quiet neighborhood and the owner is quick to respond to questions. We were going charter fishing out of Mayport and booked the house for the weekend. I actually caught more fish from the dock at the house than on the charter boat. There were a few cosmetic issues but nothing to serious. The air conditioner was turned on a high temperature when we arrived (in the 80's) and took a while to cool down the house but other than that, our stay was pleasant. We would book this house again if ever back in the area.

Not what we expected
We came for 2 nights and in the check-in process we started to have problems with the booking. I had to get in contact with the manager to get the access code to the property and the Wi-Fi password, usually you get this info in your booking reservation. The AC wasn't working fine in the first floor. The property was not fully clean. If someone was taking a bath in the first floor, you don't get hot water in the second floor. Finally the last night when we arrived at the property the access code wasn't working, I had to call the manager at 1 AM to ask for a new code. Definitively not recommended.
Great property. Beautiful house with all amenities. Owner very responsive to issues. Perfect location for the beach and downtown Jacksonville. Would definely suggest staying here. Quiet and safe neighborhood. He is a preferred owner.
