Satisfied

Overall, a beautiful location. We were in town to visit family in Uvalde and attend the festival. We didn't get to spend time in the river due to the weather and our planning, but the river was deep and convenient. As for the house, it was cozy and spacious. I would have only a couple of suggestions. First, it would have been nice to have some drawer space. We would have loved to unpack our luggage. Second maybe some complimentary coffee. There was a coffee maker but we would have not only had to buy coffee, but also filters for the coffee maker. Filters would have been nice. Thank You for a beautiful location. We will be back.

Dream tiny

This tiny home is a truly beautiful and amazing place to stay Not to far from the river where we spent most of the day , we came back to enjoy the wonderful views on a front deck and enjoyed great food on the grill. Clean , vary accommodating, friendly owner and wonderful assistant on site for anything you might need.

Getaway in Uvalde

Best part is driving unto the backroads to get to this relaxing cabin! It was easy to find. I’m glad I chose this one. it was just my daughter and I. Some areas were very secluded and this was perfect for the two of us…there were more cabins far enough from each other to still have your own privacy and not feel so alone when it got dark at night. The amount of birds in the morning was amazing take binoculars! It gets so dark and The stars at night are amazing here! The cabin itself is very modern and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of seating inside for eating and lounging. They have plastic chairs up front i saw some people use those to take into the river. The river is walking distance. There were really big fish in the river my daughter did not want to swim with them, but that’s just her. The river is a lil dry to the south side but had plenty of swim area to the north. The property manager was super kind and will come by and introduce himself. He did say the water levels are low so if you are looking to just chill in the water under some shade or just hang out with friends and do some swimming this is the place. I would love to come back with a bigger party and stay at one of the bigger cabins they look very accommodating for enjoying a day outdoors. The one we stayed at had a back porch with a grill and I didn’t ask but I think it has a metal galvanized tank for filling with water to get inside it and cool off.

River Weekend

We loved staying here at Rio Escondido. The cabin was perfect for our little family of 3. We especially loved the private water access to the river. We had shallow parts to sit and deep holes for our son to swim in. One little suggestion, and it wasn’t a deal breaker because we brought our own swim towels, but for a family of 3 staying 4 nights the shower linens were very low, only one towel per person and only 2 washcloths were provided. If that’s the normal maybe just list to bring extras if needed?? But overall the cabin was exactly what we needed for a river front home. Thank you for the great weekend away, we will book here with y’all again!!!

Hello! We are the Willis Family, David, Tina, Vada, and Devere. We absolutely love Montell, Texas, and the surrounding area. We spend a lot of time on the Nueces River, swimming and Kayaking.

Why they chose this property

We bought this property because of the beautiful blue hole of water it sits on. In spending much time along this river, this is one of the best and deepest holes of water we have ever come across. We love the Texas Hill Country and its spectacular views.

What makes this property unique

This property is in a rural area in Uvalde County and its sits on the banks of the beautiful Nueces River. This is a quiet area, with a lot of wildlife and few vacationers, so it is the perfect getaway from it all! The lovely view of the river with the hills in the background is a wonderful sight for morning sunrises with a hot cup of coffee.
