I can't rave enough about our time spent at the farmhouse. Sandy & Martin were the most welcoming, friendly, responsive hosts. The farmhouse itself was large enough for everyone to spread out and enjoy and the kids loved waking up to visit the farm animals each day. Wonderful experience...10/10. Highly recommend!
This house was perfect for my family to get together. It was clean, well stocked, very roomy and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. Hosts were very attentive. The kids loved all the farm animals.
Loved our experience at the farmhouse. Beautifully decorated with plenty of room for our party of 8. So peaceful waking each morning and looking out at all the farm animals. Wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of the tour and other events. All want to rent again and bring rest of family who couldn’t make it this time, Great place for a unique family vacation.
Exactly as described. Martin and Sandy gave a tour of the farm, awesome people. Beautiful country house, tucked away and private. Sleeps 8 comfortably. Spacious inside, comfortable porches to relax outside. 30 minutes from Richmond. All the amenities of home. Looking forward to staying again next Labor Day. Mornings like a country song, dew falling, whipperwhills singing.
It's a remodeled old farm house that sits on over 500 acres with trails of varying difficulty. The house was clean and furnished well. A lot of nature nearby and a barn with farm animals which I'm sure kids would enjoy seeing.
The location is pretty remote/rural, but the owners are the next place down the road and are very helpful/responsive.
We've stayed all over the world in all kinds of places. While this was great for us, be aware it's not a fancy or trendy place -- if that's what you are looking for. Old farm houses always have minor maintenance issues, etc.
All in all, we had a nice stay and world stay here again.
We spent three nights at the farmhouse and I can’t say enough great things about it. We are a family of 4 (2 teenagers) and one dog. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. The screened in front porch was a popular place for reading on the porch swing or playing a game at the table. The beds were comfortable. Everything was very clean. The kitchen was modern and well stocked. There are lots of windows that look out on the farm, trees, and farm animals. We all enjoyed walking around and watching the animals, and we spent an afternoon hiking some of the trails on the property. Sandy and Martin, our hosts, were welcoming and warm. They were lovely and responded to every message immediately. They met with us to give us information about the trails, brought us firewood, and helped us with the propane canister for the grill. We purchased fresh eggs and sausages via their website, which were waiting for us when we got there. Let me tell you about those brats, we ended up buying 5 more packages to take home. Try the goat brats, SO good. The last thing I will say is this is a great location. Berea is nearby for exploring, shopping, and a meal out. We hiked in Lily Mountain Nature Preserve. Do not miss Anglin Falls trail nearby, a wonderful wildflower trail in spring but lovely any time. The Pinnacles trails in Berea College Forest is also close, one of our favorite hikes in KY. This is really a special area.
