Hummingbird Hill Cottage is an ideal location for a mountain getaway, offering stunning views of the creek and mountains. Situated in the Sandy Mush area, the cottage is only a few minutes away from local restaurants and grocery stores, and approximately 30 minutes from both the Biltmore Estate and downtown Asheville, providing you with the perfect base to explore the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

This delightful 2-bedroom vacation rental cabin that is perfect for anyone who wants a cozy and comfortable home away from home while exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains.

As you enter the cabin, you will be welcomed by the vaulted ceilings with wood beams and Hickory hardwood floors that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The living space is open and filled with natural light, featuring a gas fireplace and comfortable seating, and rustic modern handmade furniture that makes you feel right at home. You can also stream your favorite movies on the flat-screen TV to unwind after a long day of exploring.

The fully equipped kitchen features a gas stove and stainless-steel appliances that provide you with everything you need to cook your favorite meals. The dining room table seats up to 6 guests, and you can also enjoy your meal on the deck at the wrought iron table with an umbrella. The primary bedroom, located on the main level, features a comfortable queen bed, walk-in closet, and a slider out to the wrap-around deck. The second guest room is located in the open loft space with an ensuite bathroom and a high-end memory foam queen bed, providing you with a perfect place to relax and sleep.

You can step out onto the large wrap-around deck with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and experience total relaxation while listening to the sounds of the creek and viewing the gardens and mountains. A peaceful stroll down the dirt road offers beautiful scenery, with farms, antique barns, and stunning views. The fire pit is also the perfect spot to unwind and take in the mountain air after a day of exploring.

The maximum occupancy is 4 guests, and linens are provided for all beds.

There is no cell service available in the area, but the cabin provides wifi for wifi calls.

The internet speed is 25Mbps for both download and upload.

The minimum stay is two nights throughout the year.

Absolutely Beautiful and Peaceful
We couldn't be happier with our stay in this beautiful mountainside cottage. They had everything we needed (including a blow up mattress for our youngest - there was even a pack n' play that). We literally only needed our clothes, whatever food we wanted to cook, and some activities to keep our kids entertained (of course they logged right in to Disney Plus on the TV). The 30 minute drive to Asheville/Biltmore Estate was easy, too. The hummingbirds were everywhere and my wife saw a buck in the backyard on the last morning of our stay! We re looking forward to staying here again in the future (hopefully next year!)

Spectacular Getaway!
We traveled to the area for a wedding and were so glad we found this charming property. The house was well appointed, spotless, comfortable beds, and it had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. My son and his wife stayed in the loft area where they must have recently upgraded from a sleeper sofa to a new queen bed. We highly recommend this property and we will be back!

Comfy little mountain cabin
A friend & I stayed at this truly adorable little cabin for 4 nights. We were both very impressed with all the nice amenities in this property. There was nothing cheap here, all the appliances are top grade & function well. The kitchen & bathrooms have granite countertops & high end cabinets. The cabin itself was clean & very nicely decorated. We took full advantage of the large comfortable porch & enjoyed drinking wine & watching sunset every evening. We wished it was warmer outside so we could enjoy the well landscaped garden area with its andirondock chairs & chimena fire pit. The view of the creek below was wonderful from this vantage point. My only criticism of this property is the sofa bed in the loft. I am a 65 yr old 122 lb female & that sofa sleeper broke my back. The area where your head & shoulders rests on this sofa bed is ungiving & hard as this is where the sofa cushions sit when it is set up as a sofa. No matter where you put your pillow it does not give. The metal bar down the center completes your torture. Not sure why this sofa sleeper is in this lovely loft area anyway- the room is only set up for use as a bedroom. There is no tv & only room for a small dresser so no other activities in this space. It would be great if the host just went ahead & put a bed in this room. If you are traveling with one other person & sleeping in the main floor bedroom I highly recommend this property. Otherwise, beware the sofa sleeper!

This property was amazing - cozy, quiet and secluded. This road had very little traffic and the only other humans we saw were local folks riding horseback down the street. The kitchen was well equipped for easy meal prep and the grill outside was brand new! The ONLY downside was the sofa bed in the loft - it was extremely uncomfortable. I would recommend getting an actual queen bed for the upstairs. The space felt private even though it was a loft - especially with the upstairs full bath.

Exceptional Retreat
Second To None!!! From the moment you arrive you can’t help feeling the smile on your face grow…and when you open the stylistic archway entry door…and take that involuntary “breath of joyful anticipation”…you feel your heart begin to smile even bigger…it’s that nice! Exceptionally clean, bright and very welcoming. So calming, but also energizing to explore all the cottage has to offer. Feels like “Rustic Royality”…from the interior color palates…to the free-standing fireplace...the expertly appointed antique/rustic furniture…a completely furnished open kitchen…impressive wrap-around deck that fosters a Zen-like atmosphere with the soothing sounds of the running brook below…to the professionally designed and maintained landscape and fire pit area…complete with burnable cord wood. Even the stone work on the retaining walls is commendable…clearly a linear work of art. Last but not least…the whole-house A/C to erase those hot, muggy August summer days! Don’t hesitate to rent this mountain retreat…or someone else will…it’s that nice!!! Highest Recommendation!

Magical Mountain Getaway
We had a wonderful and relaxing week at this comfortable and well appointed garden cottage. We enjoyed having our early morning coffee on the deck listening to the birds and enjoying the beautiful gardens while watching the fog rise. The evenings were just as special after spending the day exploring the area. There are some great little spots to eat and get a coffee not too far away. We had everything we needed and more. We highly recommend this gem!

Beautiful views along the mountain side where the house is. There is a creek across the street that gives off the most tranquil sounds. The exterior is uniquely beautiful (love the front door), wraparound deck, landscaping, fire pit, and so much more! The house was very comfortable inside. Cozy and serene with touches bringing the outside in, this is a great find!
