The Blue Bird Skoolie is a newly renovated Blue Bird school bus that offers comfort and privacy. It is located at Saluda Outdoor Center where there are other tiny homes, summer river tubing, and a fun community right on the Saluda River. This skoolie has an ample living area, a full size bed, and a full size kitchen. While there is no river view, it does have a spacious and private courtyard. The interior height is 74 inches. SOC is located by a highway that can be noisy at times. During Hurricane Hellen a tree fell on the front end of the bus and caused cosmetic damage. It is completely safe to stay in. It just doesn't look as pretty as it used to.

As always, they did not disappoint. We love staying with these guys on the river. They are always so willing to make our stay amazing. This time we were having trouble with the heat. The host brought us a little heater, helped us with a breaker issue, and in the end helped us move to another house so we could have heat.
Such a unique place to stay that’s still close to nearby restaurants and coffee shops. Loved the decor and accommodations. Quick responses from management, too. Only drawback was a bit of road noise from the neighboring highway. The on-site restaurant is a delight!!
Stay was fine. Had a good time. The second of the 2 nights was miserable because the AC went out in a metal bus. You can imagine.
It was after 10:00pmand didn’t want to trouble anyone so we roughed it out.
I know the staff would’ve help but being so late I let it lie
My daughters wanted to go camping and I told them we will try a tiny home first. They loved it and had a great time. The closed in area is great for little ones. We brought Jenga and cornhole to play. I will definitely book again. Cute, cozy and cool place!
The Blue Bird is a very cute space, and just big enough to be functional for a couple nights' stay. The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen and living space were well-equipped.
Stayed in the Blue Bird Bus which was super cozy and perfect as we had a furry friend with us. The fenced in space was a wonderful surprise and made it super easy to accommodate his outdoor needs.
Katie, the property manager, was easy to communicate with and upgraded us to a brand new tiny house when the bus heater malfunctioned. This space was amazing! This was our second stay at SOC and I can say we will definitely be returning.
Close to West Greenville that is up and coming. Cute eateries, bars and coffee shops/bakery. Also, just a couple miles from downtown. So much to do and see. Stay at SOC! You won’t be disappointed.
Check in was easy and I had my dog with me who loved the courtyard while I cooked. Katie was amazing, she came to help me light the oven because I am a bit slow with a pilot light! The place was everything I needed and I was missing nothing. If you have any tall people in your family it might be a challenge but for me and my pup, this was a perfect place to hike and disconnect. Will definitely be back!
Cute place to stay for a quick visit to Greenville. Bath is TIGHT, but functional. The rest of the space is cozy and comfy. Bed was wonderful.
The river is beautiful...unfortunately we didn't get to float because of a rainy day. 10 minutes or so to Greenville. Thank you for having us!
Nice grounds. Convenient location. The a/c in the unit does not work. It makes noise but what little air that comes out is not cooling the unit. Very hot during the day with fans and window open at night to make it tolerable. If I stay there again I will ask if the HVAC system works and if it heats or cools. If not I will demand a refund.
We really enjoyed our stay as we always do this is our 3rd time staying in this cute little bus!!! It’s always a pleasure and meets out expectations we love this place and would highly recommend it to anyone
I’ve always wanted to have a renovated bus of my own (it’s a dream of mine) and this Blue Bird bus was everything I could have ever hoped for!!!
My husband and I had our two kiddos (ages 5 and 6) along as well as our puppy and it worked out just fine!!
The little fenced in area alongside the bus was SO perfect for the kids and the pup…and for my hubby and I too!! The fire pit is a great size and nice and deep. There were 2 Adirondack chairs and a metal table with 2 matching chairs that were in great condition and just added to the camping (errrr GLAMPing) vibe.
I loved the colors inside, the couch was comfortable and I cannot believe that I’m going to say this…the bed was THE MOST COMFORTABLE bed I’d ever slept on at a rental.
Waking up and being able to make coffee with the Keurig and the supplied k-cups and creamer really helped me to feel like I was home.
There are 2 tv trays (tray tables) for eating on, as there isn’t a table for dining. Let’s face it, we used the supplied skewers to roast hotdogs over the fire each night-we weren’t “dining” anyway, it was just fabulous.
Katie (the host) couldn’t have been any more attentive, helpful or kind. She called me, yes, actually CALLED, when I had a question for her related to dogs at the ‘camp’. She was also, so sweet to my kiddos, they’ll be looking to work for her when they’re old enough :) What a great host!
If it’s not obvious enough at this point…we LOVED EACH SECOND of our stay. This is a gem of a spot…BOOK IT!!
