About this property
Historic Cottage with View on the Hudson River
Enjoy a cozy stay in the heart of Newburgh's Historic East End. Full of cachet and modern comforts, this Tudor-style brick home is within walking distance of vibrant Liberty Street, Washington’s Headquarters, and the restaurants of the Hudson River waterfront. And if you want to venture out to nearby attractions, you are a short drive away from Beacon, Bannerman's Island, Waterfall of Fishkill Creek, hiking trails, Storm King Art Center, Bear Mountain, many ski resorts/waterparks, to name a few.
The space
This endearing 2-story house was renovated to offer families and friends an opportunity to gather comfortably and make heartwarming memories.
Pass through the charming cottage door to a spacious living room with leaded glass windows and a bright and cheery sunroom. The fully equipped kitchen offers a view on the Hudson River and a lovely B&B directly behind that is endowed with beautiful landscape and architecture, which guests will be sure to enjoy in the summer on the freshly built deck. While a small, connected island allows guests to keep the chef company, the kitchen opens to a dining area with a table that seats 8.
Two comfortable bedrooms and a full bathroom complete the first floor. The master suite on the second floor comprises a bedroom and a connected bedroom with a double-size bed which can be used for an additional guest by request. (The adjacent room can be closed off from the master bedroom if needed but is ideal for children.) A large attic bedroom offers a rustic atmosphere and a view on mountains and the magnificent Hudson, and a second full bathroom stands between the bedrooms.
Guest access
Ground floor and top floor
Other things to note
- The City of Newburgh's East End Historic District, the birthplace of Victorian architecture, is undergoing significant architectural revitalization. The diverse community of Newburgh has a lot to offer in terms of history and culture, and the surrounded areas propose plenty outdoors activities and entertainment, such as ski mountains, hiking trails, waterparks and cinemas.
- The house is perfect for families with children. Baby gates are available to be installed for an additional fee, and strongly recommended for children three and under.
- Please treat the house like your mother lives here. Don't move the furniture. Put things back where you found them. Close and lock all doors before you leave the premises. The windows do not have a screen, so avoid opening them. And for goodness' sake, no parties or smoking.
- Please note the fireplace is not operable.
