Solid one-bedroom house, well decorated and equiped, very aery with large rooms, a lot of light and cross-ventilation thanks to windows on all sides and in the roof (opening skylights). If hot, the two large fans are very effective. Outside, you can sit either in the shade on the porch with hanging flower baskets and view the beautiful owners' house and the farm further down the hill, or at the table at the back of the house to be totally private. At the back is an outdoor shower, so you can get rid of sand before going inside.
The house is well located in the Outer cape, the part of Cape Cod we like for its calm (except on route 6 !), its variety of beaches and the charm of Wellfleet and Provincetown. Truro center (a small store and a post office) is about one mile away. Longnook beach is one mile away on the ocean; it is not a tourist beach so it is uncrowded. You can easily bike to Corn hill beach on the bay side, if you walk your bike up the Elmira to Joseph connector lane. Peter told us all about the little dirt roads to cycle on starting from the house (expect sandy and uphill stretches) to go south and north without having to go on route 6.
Peter and Dylis are the owners of Longnook organic farm, so you can get your vegetables at their stand in the driveway entrance. You can get honey from the farm too; it is excellent !
