About this property
A modern light-filled haven in a tranquil setting
Our modern, light-filled, scandinavian inspired home is a beautiful place to rest while you enjoy the magic of San Diego. The entire front of our home is glass with breathtaking views over the mountains and reservoir below. Neutral decor and warm wood accents provide a relaxing atmosphere and a tranquil setting.
Melt into one of the cosy beds or sink into the enormous sofa in the open plan living room that overlooks the valley. Huge glass windows, clean lines and an abundance of light create the perfect indoor/outdoor flow to enjoy your afternoon wine, morning breakfast watching the sun rise over the mountains or just reading a book in bed. Our home offers 2 spacious bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a queen. There is also a pack n play crib under the king bed if you need one. The kitchen is well equipped with all the basics you need to cook meals: range oven, microwave, mini dishwasher, nespresso machine, full size fridge, dishes, glassware and cookware.
There is also a two person hot tub out in the back garden along the path overlooking the mountains that you’re more than welcome to enjoy at your leisure!
Please note that very deep cleaning is completed before every guest check in including washing with bleach all linens and towels and disinfecting all surfaces. Our goal is to create a safe and clean haven for your visit.
The house is designed and rented as two private 'pods' that are securely separated by a locked laundry room. Your home is completely private as is the other airbnb pod. We do ask that you respect our other guest's privacy and don't walk around to their private deck and home, just as they will respect your privacy and rental.
PARKING:
Just a heads up, the driveway is pretty steep. You'll have a spot to park one car about halfway up the driveway under the house on the concrete on the left hand side (there is a parking sign to help show where), then you'll need to just be able to walk the final 100ft up the gravel driveway to the front door. The views at the top make it all worth it! :) Keep in mind you do have to back down or up the driveway as there is no turn around.
Since this is our personal home too and we live on site (your hosts) we share the driveway with Airbnb and park our vehicles at the top, which is why guest parking is only under the house - this way we don’t get blocked in by you or block you in as we come and go. So there’s no confusion and for your safety and our peace of mind, we simply ask all guests to drive no further than the concrete and park in the guest parking spot :)
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask! We're available by text or phone between 6am-7pm every day :)
Bonita is a quiet town just south of downtown San Diego that has a lovely rural feel whilst being in such close proximity to the city. Bonita occupies about a five-mile (8 km) stretch of the Sweetwater River, its valley, and surrounding hills on either side where the house is nestled. To visitors and residents alike, one of the most visible features of Bonita recreational life is the walking trail that loops the wildlife preserve in front of the house which hundreds of residents walk, run, and ride every day. Bonita is also known for it's equestrian community with many residents keeping their own horses and can be seen riding the trails regularly. It's such a delight to stand at the windows in the evening and watch the horses outside.
The San Diego airport is 20 minutes away and downtown San Diego is a 12 minute drive. The famous Coronado Beach a 20 minute drive and Mexico is 20 minutes away if you want to do a day trip. Seaworld, Aquatica and the San Diego Zoo are all 15-20 minutes away.
Please note, as pictured, there are no curtains on the large windows in the living room. Because of the home's elevation the house has privacy, but the sunshine does pour in to the living room during the morning hours in the winter. It's really quite beautiful to watch the sun rise over the hill through those windows in the morning!
If you have a baby and need a pack n play, there is one located under the king bed. If you do use it please put the pack n play sheet in the bathroom with your dirty towels for our cleaner to wash when you check out.
