Nestled on the serene lakefront of Lake Gaston, this enchanting cottage captivates with its seamless integration of openness and natural light. Upon entering, your eyes will be drawn to the floor-to-ceiling windows flanking the fireplace, creating a sensation of floating amidst the tranquil canopy of the surrounding woods. As you turn to your left, the expansive water view unfolds, stretching the entire length of the home.
The tastefully furnished interior features a chef's kitchen adorned with sleek stainless steel appliances, an inviting dining area, and a welcoming family room, all thoughtfully designed to embrace the mesmerizing water vista. On the main level, the master bedroom awaits, complete with a cozy, newly furnished king-sized bed and an en suite bathroom boasting a luxurious soaking tub.
The screened porch, a sanctuary of tranquility throughout the day, spans the entire length of the house. Steps away, the gently sloping grassy lawn—an ideal space for engaging in yard games or relaxing around the inviting warmth of the Solo Stove— leads you to your private dock, promising endless hours of joyous activities such as, swimming, tubing, wakeboarding, skiing, exploring, paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing, and savoring the captivating water view accompanied by nature's symphony.
One of the unique advantages of this home lies in its location on the lake. The curve in the cove naturally diverts the already minimal boat traffic away from the area in front of the dock, allowing for a safer swimming oasis. The Hideaway is also located at the mouth of Lyon’s Creek which offers undisturbed aquatic exploration as you embark on your kayaking, canoeing, or paddleboarding adventures along the creek, immersing yourself in the surrounding flora and fauna.
During a summer storm or a rainy day, there is no better place to find solace than Sunny Sylvan Hideaway. While The Restless will discover a plethora of entertainment options such as ping pong in the garage, foosball or board games on the screened porch, and air hockey upstairs, those seeking quiet relaxation can select a book from our library, find respite on the porch, and lose themselves in the calming symphony of raindrops on the metal roof.
For those eager to venture out, nearby lakefront restaurants await your arrival by boat. And if you crave a change of scenery, a short car ride will transport you to the charming downtown historic areas of Littleton or Warrenton, where delightful shopping, antiquing, and a diverse range of dining options await.
If your stay necessitates remote work, you'll find Sunny Sylvan Hideaway perfectly suited to your needs. Unlike many properties on Lake Gaston, our home offers high-speed Starlink internet access, ensuring a seamless virtual work experience. To further enhance connectivity, we have installed a TP-Link Deco Wifi 6E Mesh system that blankets the entire property, including the dock, allowing you to create envy-inducing video conference collages from your dockside office. Please note that we have a minimum stay requirement of 3 nights for all bookings, though we believe you'll be enticed to extend your stay.
For guests bringing or renting a boat, we provide cleats for securing your watercraft. However, please bring your own bumpers and lines to ensure proper mooring. Additionally, we kindly request that you bring sufficient life jackets for the safety and enjoyment of everyone, making sure they are appropriately sized for your group. Limited lawn chairs, kayaks, a paddle board and a canoe are provided for your enjoyment.
If you require additional space for your multi-generational or multi-family travel party, the apartment above the garage is available for an extra fee. It comprises two bedrooms, a full bath, and can comfortably accommodate six guests. The additional space also houses a Peloton bike, allowing you to maintain your fitness routine even while away from home.

A few more tid-bits... :)
1. Trained service animals are welcome! Otherwise, we have a strict "no pets" policy. We can help arrange lodging for your pets (as long as they are up to date on shot records which must be provided) at a local boarding facility during your stay, if you'd like; just give us a call...way in advance as they fill up fast!
2. The house, like 99% of all lake homes on Lake Gaston, uses a septic system. This system is a finely balanced biological system. Please help us keep it working flawlessly by flushing ONLY toilet paper. Renters are responsible for any damage caused by misuse.
3. Bow-Riders and deep draft Wake Board boats need to check their Hummingbirds to ensure adequate depth in all coves. Pontoons should have no issues and everyone is welcome to tie off at the dock with rental boats.(make sure to bring your bumpers!).
4. Culverts & Bridges: Be sure to lower your bimini top when going under bridges or through culverts. Appearances can be deceiving!
