A wet January
Our stay was impacted by terrible weather for the first three weeks of our stay. It ended up being the second rainiest January on record, so we had lots of rainy, cloudy, cool days that dampened our spirits considerably. No fault of the owner, certainly. The home was decorated very nice and was a good layout with a nice pool and lenai. The pool is heated by solar panels that require the sun, so for the first three weeks there was very little heating going on. Again, not the owner's fault. We had two issues during our stay: a coffee maker that didn't work and the water heater quit working. These issues were immediately remedied by the owner who was very easy to communicate with. Five stars for that!
The home is a 20 year old home that hasn't seen much updating. Countertops were cracked and reglued. Hinges and knobs on some doors were rusted. Silverware and dishes were mismatched and minimal. Traffic noise was something we never got used to. A well-traveled road ran close to the house and the locals seem to want to accelerate loudly every time they go by. It was a little bit of a drive to get to restaurants and entertainment as the house is in a newer construction area.
I think the owner is just getting started with this rental, so we did mention these things to him and I'm sure he will be addressing them.
I'm giving three stars overall because the location (while a nice house) was inconvenient for us, traffic, and the accompaniments were below our expectations.
