My husband and I brought the kids and our dog to this cute cottage this weekend. The location is amazing-easy walk to the downtown area. The property was quiet, the yard is a good size and well maintained. The house was spacious enough for us to spread out and enjoy our time. Lots of windows to enjoy the beautiful sun and the cool breeze. And the plants!!! They were so nice-and everywhere. We are looking forward to a return visit.
We loved staying here so much we didn’t want to leave some days! It’s very homey, comfortable and clean. The neighborhood is historic and beautiful and you can walk right into downtown Mystic. We would love to stay here again!
House was very clean and had all of the necessities. Very comfortable and cozy. Excellent location. Alden was very responsive. Would definitely stay there again.
My group of four friends and I really enjoyed our stay. The home is charming and had everything we needed. The tea and spices left for us to use were appreciated, and so was having a dishwasher to make clean up easier. We also appreciated the lights being on when we arrived as we checked in in the evening - just a little thoughtful thing.
The proximity to the town was perfect - we were able to walk to the cafes and bars in just 5-10 minutes. There was so much to do in the area for the Fall, we only wish we got to stay longer to take advantage of the fire pit :) Thank you for a great weekend - we'd hope to be back in the future.
This house is exactly what our family of four was looking for. It's well-maintained and very cozy. Its location is conveniently situated in a prime area, offering easy access to nearby amenities and attractions.
A very comfortable place. My family and I enjoyed the house, front patio, and back deck. Our dog loved the back yard. The house is a nice short walk (~ 5 min) from downtown Mystic. Highly recommend this place.
This rental was the perfect place to stay when visiting some relatives in the area. As previous reviews mentioned, the 5 minute walk to Main Street is a complete game-changer, especially in the summer when parking is at a premium. The home is cozy with tons of charm on the inside - lots of plants, artwork, *comfortable* furniture, many books, and stacks of games (the wifi also worked perfectly, if you’re inclined). The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cooking pans, utensils and typical seasonings. The porch and fire-pit area had plenty of seating as well. The stairs to the second floor bedrooms and bath/shower were a bit steep, but manageable. The queen-size bed we used was comfortable with plenty of linens and blankets available. The host was prompt and pleasant when answering our few questions. This will be our go-to rental when we return to the area!
very charming property with great space and amenities and excellent location close to the heart of mystic. property owner very responsive and accommodating. loved it!
Love Mystic. Super clean home. Great location. Easy access to downtown. Loved the outdoor fireplace. House next door close on one side but didn’t bother us as we are from a busy city. Very relaxing and would definitely come again. Thanks for having us.
My sister, daughter and I all celebrated our birthdays together and stayed here. We were so happy with everything - the location, the cleanliness, and the house in general was so cute and perfect for us! The owner was wonderful with communicating. It was definitely a great mini vacation and we would love to return next year.

This is a beautiful house! We had such a nice time here. The outside deck is a great place to hang out and barbecue and you can walk to town where there are a lot of restaurants and shops. The hardwood floors and charm of the residence are so inviting. Its a great place to relax and enjoy life for a few days.
Best aspect of this property is its proximity to downtown Mystic. It’s a very easy short walk to all the shops and restaurants. I recommend Sift, Young Buns Donuts, Frior Tux pub and Bravo Bravo.
The house is small but very comfortable. Plenty of linen, towels, shampoo, TP for our group of 2 adults and 4 teens/kids. Fairly well stocked kitchen. Window AC in all the bedroom and living room but none in the family/kitchen where we spent much of our time, although it never got uncomfortably warm even when outside temp was close to 90 degrees.
We took ferry from New London (15 min drive) and had a great time. Aquarium was a surprise find about 5 min away.
I gave property manager 3 stars for communication because he never got back to me with my inquiry just prior to arrival.
This is a lovely cottage in an amazing location. We were delighted to be welcomed with access to a porch, a grill, full kitchen, and a fire pit for kids to enjoy. The house is small but cozy and I would stay again, but with a few concerns.
The grill had a broken middle burner and it leaked propane, so don't use the middle burner. It was also filthy with old cheese and oil all over the interior. I did my best to clean it, and I don't mind, things happen-but when you're paying for a hard-earned family Vaca, more consideration for the tenant should be made.
The listing is dog friendly. But be warned that if your dog barks, the neighbors will call the property owner with an exaggerated complaint, who will then call you and ask you to do something about it. And you may be at the beach, or sailing, or whatever. So be informed.
My final note and a safety hazard is that the harpoon hanging in the bedroom was not anchored properly and fell onto the floor. Two #6 drywall screws were holding a 9 ft long harpoon made of wood and iron into drywall only, with no anchors. This object falling to the floor could easily have sent my wife or kids to the ER. Luckily it only scared my wife and didn't hurt her. I was a builder and a mechanical engineer for many years and this is dangerous.
So to recap, I'm not salty or angry at all, things happen...but this is an honest review and I believe that future renters ought to be given fair notice.
