About this property

Remote Cabin Family Fun Hot Tub

Welcome to this 3-bedroom, 2-bath mountain getaway designed for fun! You’ll LOVE the unique, masculine bar/billiards room in its own separate building just steps from the main house! Enjoy a 4-person hot tub, plus outdoor grilling, dining and games. Dogs are welcome and can romp safely in their own fully-fenced area. Five separate outdoor seating areas, including one with a fire pit, and a whimsical group picnic area with tables and benches artistically fashioned from raw timber!
The space
We have the BEST internet there is! If you are coming here to work or just stream movies all night, we got you covered with STARLINK INTERNET!

If you are coming here to unplug, we also have you covered! Forget your troubles and reconnect with nature in lushly forested, mountainous Florissant. In a clearing in the woods, you’ll find your very own private vacation complex.

Pull up and park right in front of the main house -- a handsome structure painted the warm terracotta hue of a Rocky Mountain sunset. It stands just steps from a former garage that was cleverly transformed into a rustic, masculine bar and billiards room. It’s like having your own private tavern right on the premises.

Inside the “saloon,” you’ll find a unique hand-crafted bar with three bar stools made from tree trunks and horse saddles. Giddy-up to the bar and have a brew, pardner! An old-time whiskey barrel is the base of a small cocktail table surrounded by four chairs, close to a beautiful pool table that dominates the space. You’ll also have an extra refrigerator/freezer here to keep your drinks refreshingly cool. In pleasant weather, you might choose to open the garage door and let in the fresh Rocky Mountain air, but you can also enter via a single door on the side of the building. Please note that the wood burning stove is for decoration only.

You won’t be able to help smiling at the charming group picnic area built in front of the main house, with several picnic tables, benches and stools made from raw timber. Let it serve as your exclusive beer garden, just a few feet away from the saloon.

The entrance to the home is slightly raised above ground level (just four steps up) with a large patio spread out before it. Here, you’ll find an outdoor dining table and chairs for four, partially sheltered by an overhang strewn with party lights. In one corner of the patio, a unique, L-shaped wooden structure provides covered built-in benches for several guests. Just around the side of the house you’ll find a natural gas grill, making the front patio the perfect, festive spot to host a barbecue.

As you step through the front door, you’ll find yourself in a bright, cozy living room decorated with a rustic mountain theme. Gather together to watch the Roku TV or choose from a selection of family-friendly games. We highly suggest downloading any movies onto your subscription apps incase the internet isn't able to stream it. We have a selection of DVD's and a DVD player. A 3-seater sofa with a matching ottoman provides an inviting place to put your feet up, and some lucky guest will claim the Big Chair and get to sink into its welcoming embrace with a contented sigh.

A wide opening in the back wall allows for a broad, unobstructed view into the large eat-in kitchen. Here, the ceiling opens up to a soaring height, and high windows flood the space with light.

In the dining corner, a charming table is bathed in the light of a big picture window, surrounded by a mixture of bench seating and chairs. The nearby breakfast bar also provides additional seating for three.

If you like to cook, you’re going to love the kitchen. Feel free to make yourself at home here, whether it’s to cook your famous chili or bake your Grandma’s unforgettable blueberry muffins for breakfast. Everything you need is provided, right down to the muffin tin and the slow cooker!
You’ll find plenty of counter space and cheerful pine cabinetry, plus full-size appliances ready to serve a large family or group. Enjoy a French door refrigerator/freezer with in-door ice dispenser, a range with cooktop and oven, a microwave, and dishwasher.

Throughout the kitchen and in the adjoining walk-in pantry, you’ll find lots of convenient extras, like a hand-held mixer, blender, tea kettle, toaster, coffee maker, a fully-stocked spice rack and a complete set of chef’s knives.

A door in the kitchen leads to a sheltered patio behind the home with a luxurious hot tub and an outdoor dining table for 8, all part of a fenced-in section of the property where kids and pets can safely roam free.

Outside the fenced area, you’ll find plenty of wide-open space for additional play, with a volleyball net, corn hole, horse shoe pit, and a seating area set away from the house with an in-table propane fire pit. So many different places to be alone, be together, and just do what you like!

The master bedroom on the first floor features a suite of furniture crafted from logs, including a breathtaking rustic 4-poster king bed. An entire wall of windows provides a stunning view. This room also includes a dresser, Roku TV, DVD player, and plush loveseat. The ensuite bathroom has a shower stall.

The second bedroom on the first floor is a distinctly feminine room with a white metal Victorian bed frame and a large walk-in closet with a dresser within. The second bathroom in the hallway offers a combination tub/shower.

A unique space at the very top of the house serves as the third bedroom area, snug beneath the eaves, with a half-wall overlooking the kitchen and dining area below. This is a large, multi-purpose space that includes two sleeping areas, one with a queen-size bed, and the other with a convertible sofa that turns into a trundle bed, sleeping two. With two comfy chairs, a Roku TV, and a short bar with two stools, this space also makes a fun hang-out for kids, or a nice separate space for a small family traveling with a larger group. A door leads outside to a spacious deck with refreshing views, two comfortable chairs and a table.

Your dogs will appreciate a pair of raised food and water bowls just outside the door of the laundry room and there are 2 large dog kennels available for them in the closet if needed. The laundry room itself is well-appointed with a full-size washer and dryer, iron, ironing board, hand-held clothes steamer, and a utility sink. Hotel-grade linens are professionally laundered after every visit. This home is managed by me, the owner so here’s a sense of PERSONAL quality and care that’s worthy of your 5-star review.

Family Time
Our family got away for a few days and had a wonderful stay at the cabin! There was plenty of room for all to relax. The fenced in yard was a wonderful bonus for dogs and small kids. The garage was great with the pool table. The house was stocked with everything we needed. There is a neighbor nearby that kept to themselves. We were close to the wolf preserve and fossil park as well as some great fishing spots. A family member left something at the cabin and Nicole was quick to respond and kind enough to mail it to us. One suggestion, is that the burned out light bulbs be replaced. Lighting was dim. We would definitely stay there again!

Mountain Getaway
The home was just as advertised! It was very clean and quiet. We enjoyed 5 nights there and the host was very accommodating when we asked to extend from 4 nights to five. The location is perfect for day trips to Canon City, Woodland Park, Buena Vista, and even Colorado Springs. We went fly fishing in the S Platte River near Lake George which was only about 25 minutes away. We enjoyed the pool table, bar, hot tub, video games for the kids, fire pit, and horseshoes. The yard was big and we practiced fly fishing and played baseball. We will definitely try to stay here again when we are out this way!

Refreshing retreat
This place was just what we needed. Perfect spot for us, since we were going in all different directions to see the sights! The house had all the things you need to relax, whether cooking in kitchen or grilling out! Nice place to kick back after being out an about during the day. We had a great time with family playing pool and corn hole! Great way to end the day! Just enough privacy to feel home away from home. ❤️❤️

The owner of this VRBO is fantastic. Very responsive to a few minor needs during our stay. Very comfortable home, with a fun 'man cave' area for gathering. We had a great time.

Excellent Stay!
We had an excellent stay with family visiting from out of town. The location is very nice and private, feels surprisingly far away from the front range. The property and amenities are great, and the owner was very communicative. We’d definitely stay again!
