Bierhaus Cabin - Walk to RMNP, River Access! A/C.

Permit #20-NCD0169

Welcome to Bierhaus Cabin – your perfect mountain getaway! Nestled in a tranquil setting, this charming cabin offers the unique experience of stepping out onto the deck to enjoy the soothing sounds of the Big Thompson River or a short stroll into the heart of Rocky Mountain National Park. Bierhaus Cabin puts you near the edge of Moraine Park, one of the best wildlife viewing spots in RMNP.

Whether you're starting your day with a scenic hike or winding down with an evening stroll, keep an eye out for the abundant elk that frequent the area. You can even catch a glimpse of the stunning Flattop Mountain and Hallett’s Peak through the aspen groves and pine trees while enjoying your morning coffee, sipping a glass of wine, or grilling up a delicious dinner.

Bierhaus Cabin is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Our cabin is not only a peaceful retreat but also home to many wild visitors – elk, deer, wild turkeys, the occasional bobcat, and even a bear might wonder by! This family-friendly haven combines the best of both worlds: a serene mountain escape just a few minutes’ drive from downtown Estes Park, where you’ll find great dining and shopping options. Plus, there’s no need to battle peak-season traffic when you’re heading into RMNP – Bierhaus Cabin is conveniently located on the same side of Estes Park as the main park entrance.

Bierhaus Cabin is the perfect starting point for your mountain adventures. Bierhaus Cabin offers a relaxing ambiance while having a front row seat to the natural beauty and the areas wildlife. If you are looking to stargaze you simply sit on the deck and enjoy the serenity of the mountains. Fishing access, picnic spots, and a playground along the Big Thompson River, are all within view of the cabin.

Take a short walk along the Big Thompson River to enjoy expansive views of Moraine Park, visit the nearby museum, or catch the shuttle to other RMNP destinations. For those eager for more adventure, continue your hike to Cub Lake, where you’ll have extraordinary opportunities to see elk herds along the way.

Conveniently Close to Estes Park and RMNP. Our cozy cabin is located just a half-mile hike from Rocky Mountain National Park or a 2-mile drive to the Beaver Meadows entrance and only 3.5 miles from downtown Estes Park.

MAIN FLOOR. You'll find a spacious and open layout with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and cozy living room with a large gas fireplace. The main floor also features a luxurious primary bedroom with a king-sized bed and a full private bath, along with a laundry area and access to the attached garage for your convenience.

UPSTAIRS. You'll find two vaulted-ceiling bedrooms: one with a king-sized bed and a dedicated remote workspace in case you need to check some emails. The other bedroom offers two twin beds and a full-size crib. This “kids' room” features a few mountain themed stuffed animals for the little ones. These rooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with a double-sink area, making it ideal for families or groups.

Kitchen: Fully stocked with everything you need, including an electric stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker/Keurig, Crock Pot, and electric grill. For families with young children, we provide a highchair and toddler-friendly dishes.

Living Room: Relax in front of the large hearth and gas fireplace or enjoy games and puzzles for some family fun. We also offer streaming TV for movie nights after a day full of adventures.

Laundry: The modern washer and dryer (new in 2024) will help you pack light for your RMNP adventure – and you can easily freshen up your hiking clothes for the next day.

Outdoor Deck: The deck is perfect for enjoying the mountain air. Relax in the rocking chairs or gather around the table for four with your morning coffee. There’s also a BBQ grill for cooking up a tasty meal while listening to the Big Thompson River in the background.

Parking: No need to worry about finding a parking spot during peak seasons—your space is ready when you arrive! You’ll have access to the garage and driveway, with space for 2 cars.

Wildlife: Bierhaus Cabin is a prime location for wildlife viewing! You may spot elk, deer, bobcats, wild turkeys, and even an occasional bear. For your safety, please do not feed the wildlife or leave food on the deck or in your car. Bears are active in the area and may try to enter cabins, so be sure to keep the windows on the main floor closed.

Please note that the Aspen Brook Homeowners Association has a few guidelines to ensure the safety and tranquility of the area: no RVs, motorcycles, or trailers; no smoking anywhere on the property; quiet hours from 9 pm to 8 am; and no pets allowed. This is a peaceful, family-oriented neighborhood, so we ask that you be respectful of other guests and keep noise to a minimum.

If you are feeling the creative vibe Estes Park has always attracted filmmakers, writers, and artists. This charming area is home to the iconic Stanley Hotel, known for its eerie atmosphere and deep connection to The Shining, making it a must-visit destination for fans of the horror genre. Whether you're drawn to the stunning landscapes or intrigued by its cinematic history, Estes Park offers a unique blend of nature and mystery. Besides the Shining, Dumb and Dumber, the Legend of the Lone Ranger, and The River Wild all had scenes featuring aspects of Estes Park and RMNP.

We are the cabin owners, and we are personally vested in ensuring you have a great stay at our home away from home. Great stay

The house is in a quiet neighborhood with great river access and a park for young ones. Easy access to RMNP and Estes Park. Greg, the owner, was probably the most accessible and responsive host I have experienced.

Great House, Perfect Location!

We had an amazing 3 night stay in this perfect house in the perfect location. Getting into Rocky Mt National Park and the very sweet town of Estes Park was so quick and easy. The furniture and beds were especially comfortable. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the front deck. As we sat there, Deer and Turkey scooted by! It was delightful hearing the stream across the road and strolling to the stream for a peaceful moment sitting in the comfy chairs.g(

A wonderful stay

Hands down, the best cabin we’ve stayed in as a family in Estes. The layout was just right for the three of us to share and still have our own space. All the facilities were top-notch and in perfect shape. We loved sitting on the porch in the morning and evening to enjoy the sound of the river and the occasional family of deer. We were incredibly comfortable during our entire stay and look forward to staying here again soon!

Lovely and relaxing

We truly enjoyed staying at Bierhaus! The cabin was the perfect size for our party of 3 adults and 2 kids. Everything was clean and well cared for. It felt luxurious without the added price. The owners were responsive and everything was as advertised. RMNP was a short drive. I would also recommend walking the short distance to The Spice Rack coffee shop. Their blueberry lemon scone was to die for. If we make it to Estes again, we will definitely be staying here!

Location, Location, Location!

I had a great two week stay at Bierhaus. Communication with the owner was excellent. It was clean, a quiet area to stay and close to Rocky Mountain National Park. Many household items were provided which was greatly appreciated when staying for a two week period. My grandkids enjoyed the playground and being close to the Big Thompson River. I highly recommend staying here! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Best. Vacation. Ever.

We had the BEST vacation staying in this house. We took our 9,8,7,2 year olds on 2-5 mile hikes every day and this house was PERFECT for our family. We only ate out three meals while there 9 days and the house had everything I needed from a awesome clean grill, countertop griddle, pots and pans, amazing cutlery, coffee pods available, ziplock bags, main spices, flour/sugar/brown sugar, and enough toilet paper for our stay (though we did buy and leave behind those rolls). The house had a great high chair for our toddler and the crib was perfect. Everything was well thought out and we have already went this property to several friends with kids to stay at. There were even stuffed animals for the kids to play with and decks of cards and a few board games. The playground was right across the street and a river swing and picnic tables nearby as well. It was truly an amazing house for us!

Our young family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The proximity to RMNP and the sense of remoteness was perfect for the adults, and the playground and convenience to town was perfect for the little ones. The house was homey and yet spotless. We will definitely return!

A wonderful March getaway

This was our first stay at the Bierhaus cabin and we’ll definitely be back. The place is well maintained and had plenty of room for our family. The location is fantastic - we spent a couple days hiking in the RMNP as it is only a short drive away. We enjoyed the cozy den and fireplace once snow arrived. The little neighborhood street was great for sledding. Estes Park was less crowded this time of year so that was nice. The Frozen Dead Guy festival was fun and we did the treat walk to local stores. A great cabin and host - thank you!

Amazing first family vacation

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Bierhaus Cabin in Estes Park, and our experience was nothing short of fantastic. The cabin's comfort exceeded our expectations, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The tasteful decor, plush furnishings, and cozy bedding created a serene retreat after our daily adventures in the beautiful Estes Park area. The attention to detail in ensuring the comfort of guests was evident throughout, making our stay truly memorable. One standout feature of the Bierhaus Cabin was its exceptional level of preparedness for families with young children. We were thrilled to find baby gates, a crib, a pack-n-play, toddler utensils, and a high chair readily available. This thoughtful touch made our first family vacation with an infant significantly more enjoyable and stress-free. The convenience of having these amenities on hand allowed us to travel lighter and provided a safe and comfortable environment for our little ones. It's clear that the owner, Greg, understands the needs of families, and we highly recommend this Bierhaus Cabin to anyone seeking a comfortable and family-friendly getaway in the stunning Estes Park & RMNP area.

Remote Work Paradise Next To Rocky Mountain National Park

We had an incredible stay at this cabin in Estes Park! The walking distance to Rocky Mountain National Park made it a nature lover's dream. After a long hike, the deck was perfect for relaxing and enjoying drinks outside. The cabin was spotless and the kitchen was well-equipped, making meal prep a breeze. What really stood out for me, though, was the spacious and well-appointed work area with a large desk and an extra monitor. It's the perfect spot for anyone looking to work remotely while enjoying the beauty of the Rockies. I can't recommend this place enough!

Mountain weekend

The home was in a wonderful location. It was very clean and met all our needs. The garage was an unexpected bonus especially after an afternoon hailstorm. We grilled on a nice Charbroil gas grill and had dinner on the sunny deck. The proximity to RMNP was perfect. Hiking was out door. No need to drive and sit in lines to get into the park. We will definitely return asap. Thanks Greg.

Amazing cabin!

The cabin was so amazing! Plenty of room for all guests (we were a family of 4, and had more than enough room). The connectivity between the upstairs kids room (with 2 single beds) and the adult room (with 1 king bed) was very convenient and comforting for our kids. The living room with fireplace was very cozy, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Would 100% recommend this place!

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful time at the Aspenhaus celebrating Thanksgiving as a family. Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable accommodations, lovely location! NOTE: The 10 am check-out time, departure clean-up list, and then also a rather high cleaning fee (and several other fees as well!) does seem out of line. We would suggest rebalancing that a bit. Perhaps a later check-out time and/or a shorter clean list and/or reduced cleaning fee. (Check in is also late at 4 pm but that worked well for us).

What can I say about this home...it is absolutely perfect...after coming to Estes for almost 20 years, we have found the perfect place to rest our heads...it is spacious, intimate and loaded...it has everything you may need from the comforts of home...this is a gem for sure...upstairs and downstairs masters...accommodates a small family or even a larger family...the crib upstairs was a life saver...lots of closet and drawer room to unpack for the week...far enough from town but still close enough...the garage was spacious enough for our vehicle...the neighborhood playground was a great option, as well as the Big Thompson so close to fish...absolutely love this house and look forward to getting back...Sue is extremely helpful and kind...nothing but positives about this property...thanks for such an amazing place...

About the host

Hosted by Greg Bier

Host profile image
My family starting coming to Estes Park when my brother and I were very young. Originally, our parents brought us to stay at the YMCA of the Rockies in one of the small cabins there. That was about 50 years ago! Owning a family cabin in Estes Park was our family's dream. Bierhaus Cabin fulfilled that dream about 28 years ago.
This is now where my wife and I, our kids, and our grandkids, comes to both adventure and relax.

Our family has taken on most adventures available in the area. Overnight backpacking, extensive hiking, cross country skiing, 4 wheeling, trout fishing, horseback riding, skiing at El Dora and, over the years, we have seen nearly all of the wildlife that calls the area home (moose, mule deer, turkeys, bears, coyote, bobcats, etc). The last animal still on our list bucket list is the elusive mountain lion sighting. We have even had a bear break into our truck on night.

Why they chose this property

Bierhaus sits near the Big Thompson River, near the base of Giant Track Mountain and looks across at Eagle Cliff Mountain and the continental divide. It is in a very quiet and private 12 acre community across the road from Rocky Mountain National Park.

While our piece of property is small it has a large history. There is a mineral claim on it from 1875. It was once part of the Dunraven Estate. If you read the history of Estes Park you'll see how it all fits in.

The HOA has rules in place to ensure the serenity and relaxing atmosphere among residents and guests. There are no pets, motorcycles, ATVs, trailers, or RVs allowed in the area. Events, parties, and loud music are strictly prohibited. Quite hours are from 9 pm to 8 am. There is absolutely no smoking allowed anywhere (not outside the cabin, not inside the cabin, not in the neighborhood). This policy is due to the higher than normal fire risk in the mountains. Bears also frequent this area so it is imperative that no food be left in your car or on the deck.

You can sit on the sofa and look out the picture window and watch elk and deer stroll by (this is actually very common). Enjoy a serene and relaxing stay or be as active as you want on the many trails of RMNP. Bierhaus is in a very quiet family community with very private grounds you can walk around and enjoy the wildlife and scenery. The remote community sits directly adjacent to the Big Thompson River and you cannot miss the cascading noise of the river from the deck.

If you are looking for a remote place to work, this is it! With reliable WiFi, the ability to stream video meetings (or Netflix), you can do your work early in the day and then head out the door for a walk into RMNP. The cabin has a dedicated workspace in a room upstairs with a desk and extra computer monitor. You may find that once you arrive with your groceries you may not need your car again for several days.

What makes this property unique

LOCATION! There simply isn't a better location anywhere near Estes Park and RMNP for a family to relax and enjoy the mountains. Bierhaus Cabin sits in a very quiet family-oriented neighborhood just outside Estes Park. This means that during peak season you can avoid the congestion of town yet be in RMNP in no time at all. Bierhaus is its own trail head...there is NO NEED to drive into Rocky Mountain National Park and find a trail head parking space.

The cabin is on the western side of Estes Park so you can avoid any Estes Park traffic by driving to the Beaver Meadows Entrance/Visitors Center of RMNP or, instead, walking a few minutes into the wildlife hub of RMNP, Moraine Park (see map). Moraine Park is one of the most common areas visited by elk and mule deer. The RMNP shuttle bus stops at the Moraine Park Discovery Center & Museum during the summer. You can use the shuttle to get to many other trail heads further into the park. No need to find a parking spot at a crowded trail head!

There is a playground approximately 100 yards from the cabin for kids to enjoy. Beyond the cabin is the Big Thompson River. Bierhaus Cabin has everything a family needs to simply sit back and relax and enjoy the mountains. You may find that once you arrive with your groceries you may not need your car again for several days.
