Gorgeous Westside Townhouse-10 Minutes to Downtown/Nike

Please book for 31 nights so you will not pay the city's 16% short-term lodging tax, which total over $450 dollars for rentals of less than a month. And, please get in touch with us before you book. Do not instant-book before you have contacted us.

Our gorgeous, sophisticated west-side townhouse is in a perfect location, less than 10 minutes from the Pearl District, the ABC Historic District and downtown Portland, yet very close to major corporations on the west side of Portland including Nike and Intel plus Forest Park and Washington Park. It is just two blocks from Forest Heights' town center, with it's coffee shop, restaurants and stores. The townhouse is perfect for shorter stays (minimum one month) as well as longer executive/'work from anywhere' rentals.

The spacious 1,500 SF of living space includes a two-story living/dining room with fireplace and new bamboo hardwood floors, a new, very well-equipped kitchen with a slab marble counter top and glass and stone tile back splash, a master with cathedral ceilings and a guest bedroom, a very bright, well-equipped loft study overlooking the living room plus a 700 SF tandem garage. There is a delightful deck fronting the living area plus a secluded, leafy patio behind the house.

You will enjoy many amenities, including a 50-inch HDTV in the living room and a flat screen TV in both bedrooms, plus a Bose sound system. There is high-speed wireless internet throughout the house plus central air.

This spacious, beautifully decorated three-story townhouse includes the owners' very special art collection featuring many well-known Northwest and national artists. The two-story living room has a gas fireplace surrounded by bookcases with a 50-inch flat-screen HD TV with premium cable channels. Prime TV, Netflicks, etc. and a classic Bose sound system. It boasts the most comfortable down-filled couch in the universe, which is also a queen-sized sleeper sofa. The floor-to-ceiling glass doors/windows give direct access to the front deck, which is perfect for sunset cocktails, plus lots of sunshine. The front deck also has a full-sized Weber gas grill.

The townhouse features a great-room design, with an open flow between the living and dining areas and the kitchen, enhanced by the new hardwood bamboo flooring. The dining area has a lovely classic-modern glass-topped table with four comfortable chairs and is decorated with antique Air France posters from the 1930's.

We are major cooks, so the highly functional new U-shaped IKEA kitchen with a slab granite counter top and glass and stone tile back splash is very well-equipped, with new appliances and the best cooking equipment. It includes a high-end GE refrigerator plus a Jenn-aire gas stove with convection oven and warming drawer and a brand-new built-in microwave and new LG stainless steel dishwasher. The kitchen features a a Cuisinart food processor, a Cusinart counter-top toaster/broiler/ convection oven, an InstaPot, blender, juicer, etc. Plus, since we love to entertain, you will have beautiful dishes, glassware, and linens of all sorts. We keep a supply of spices and basic condiments for your use.

The bedrooms are beautifully decorated with silk duvets, luxury linens, throws and interesting art. The large, restful blue and brown master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling plus with a spacious attached bathroom with a soaking tub, double sinks and a separate toilet/shower room plus a flat-screen HDTV with a DVD. It also has a large walk-through closet with bathrobes, hairdryer and basic toiletries for your use. The guest bedroom has direct access to the back patio with a teak table and is decorated in soothing tones of green and brown. A full bath is directly adjacent. This bedroom also has a very large closet.

The open loft study/office is very special. It overlooks the two-story living room and has lots of light all day plus a nice view. It is set up as a perfect working environment. Not only is there free high-speed wireless service, but there is a desk with a 23-inch flat-screen monitor and a wireless HP color printer for your use, plus a classic mid-century suede-covered couch for collapsing while you are searching for a new idea or maybe just a burst of energy. The laundry area, with full-size washer and drier, is located between the study and the master bedroom.

The front deck is graced by a bistro table and chairs as well as an umbrella. Since it faces Southwest, the front deck is perfect for morning coffee or sunset cocktails while you are cooking dinner on our Weber gas BBQ. The leafy patio behind the house is quite private. It includes a sustainable teak table, with chairs and a bench to accommodate five people.

The townhouse features gas heat plus central air (almost unheard of in Portland), which is really not necessary 360 days a year, but is great to have on those other five days! The 700 SF tandem garage can easily accommodate your car (we leave our car parked there) and has tons of storage if you are here for a longer stay.

The townhouse is just two short blocks from the village center of Forest Heights, the most upscale, sustainable development in Portland. The village center has a very nice Starbucks--with a huge indoor/outdoor fireplace; a laundry; Pizzacato, which features gourmet pizzas, a very reasonable nail salon; a small neighborhood grocery store and a nice restaurant. A free shuttle to the Sunset transit center--with access to the MAX light rail, the West Side commuter train and buses-- leaves from the village every thirty minutes during the week.

Just three minutes away is a large neighborhood shopping center, with a very nice QBS grocery store, mailing service, liquor store and four restaurants. And, of course, the delights of NW 23rd/21st, the Pearl District, and downtown Portland are less than 10 minutes away. We are just a couple of minutes away from Portland's wild Forest Park with miles of hiking/biking trails as well as Washington Park with the Portland Zoo, the Japanese and Rose Gardens, and the Hoyt Arboreatum.

Tranquility and Views in Portland

Property is beautiful with many upgrades, clean, quiet neighborhood, beautiful views of surrounding forested areas. All amenities a guest could want or need, no detail too small has been left out. Even found birthday candles for my sons’s 5th birthday, jumper cables in the garage that I ended up needing, and everything one could want in a kitchen. Wine glasses- different types for different wines, different place mats and napkins for different place settings, candles for ambiance, lovely artwork, lovely lighting and dimming switches in several rooms with soft lighting. Linens, towels, the bed was wonderful! The owner was responsive within mere minutes whenever I had a question about something. There are even extra batteries in case one of the remotes has a bad battery, and extra light bulbs in case one goes out. So much time and preparation goes into each guests’ stay, it is truly remarkable. Although the space is the middle unit of a tri-plex, please note that in my six week stay I heard almost nothing. And upon checking with a neighbor today when I was checking out, she said the same thing of us. Don’t be deterred that it isn’t a detached unit for rent. You will have as much peace and privacy as if it were. The property was spotless and as promised. The photos are accurate. This rental is only about 10 min away from Washington Park- zoo, children’s museum, forestry center. Also within 10 or so minutes is the Pittock Mansion, the Audobahn society, Japanese Gardens, and more. Prime location. Hope you choose to experience this place!

Lovely condo.

As soon as I walked into the condo I felt right at home. The kitchen was nicely equipped. Living room was cozy and the master bedroom was very comfortable. I loved all the walking trails and the location was perfect. Easy acess to downtown Portland. 20 minutes to Hillsboro. Grocery stores and shopping close by. Enjoyed my visit and hope to visit again soon!

It felt like home away from home

Michelle was very welcoming, accommodating, and conveniently available by email throughout our stay. The location was absolutely perfect for taking walks, shopping for small items at a neighboring convenience store, or a short drive to downtown, the ball-field, or golf. The 2 bedroom layout was perfect for my family of 3 with very comfortable beds. As a houseguest I frequently referred to going “home” after touring sights in Oregon. I highly recommend this home.

Very upscale, modern, comfortable townhouse

Our stay at Terry & Michelle's townhouse was great. It was very tastefully decorated with modern, comfortable furniture, and beds. We felt very "at home". The kitchen was well stocked, and we enjoyed preparing lots of our meals here. We had dinner guests and were pleased with the table settings too. When the weather was nice, we took walks on the trails that surround the area. It was early spring and it was beautiful to see the forest come alive.

Fantastic townhouse and location!

This is a clean and very, very comfortable townhouse. The linens and beds were very nice and the bathrooms, kitchen and entire townhouse were very clean. It's a pet-friendly rental but you'd never know it as there was absolutely no pet smell in the building. Everything you'd want for your stay is in the place. It's close by to walking trails, a park, and a small towncenter with a market, a restaurant with delicious food, and a Starbucks. A 5 minute drive will take you to another shopping center with a great grocery store and other small stores as well as close to Washington Park and a beautiful local mansion. All of the AAA designated spots to see are within fifteen to thirty minutes. The owners were great to work with and were very helpful when I had questions about the rental procedure. Forest Heights is the ideal location in which to rent.

Fantastic property & experience

We were looking for a nice condo for a few weeks in a location convenient to our children in Lake Oswego as a summer getaway from our dessert home. We found Michelle's wonderful place in the beautiful Forest Heights area of NW Portland. It was a picturesque representation of the Northwest that we will gladly return to when the situation presents itself. The property is homey, well cared for and immaculately maintained. It is well located for most things in the Willamette Valley, although GPS is a must to efficiently negotiate your way around the metro area. Michelle is the ultimate host/landlord who was extremely accommodating to our needs in every way. She responds quickly to inquiries, requests or issues that may arise before and during the stay. Although we didn't have the opportunity to meet her since she lives outside the area, we feel like we came to know her well during our many communications. We would unequivocally recommend her home to anyone.

Perfect Portland townhouse

Lovely well-appointed townhome in convenient location. Home contained everything we needed to be conformable and happy during our stay. Close to everything, including a nice community coffee shop, store and restaurant; plus, nice trails and parks within walking distance!

Perfect Place in Every Way!

My husband and I spent the month of July at this property. It far exceeded our expectations for comfort and prime location. The owner, Michelle, was a pleasure to work with. We needed her help only once, and she responded immediately. The townhouse reflects the owners’ care for their renters and their excellent taste in design and furnishings. The home was well-stocked with kitchen, bathroom, and entertainment items. The beds were very comfortable, and there was more than enough storage in the closets and dressers. July was one of the warmest on record, so we were especially grateful for the central air conditioning. Just like the listing says, the property is in a quiet, immaculate neighborhood with walking trails, a shopping area, and a bus stop just 3 minutes away. The bustling Pearl District and the city center are 10 minutes away. Our goal was to experience Portland, the ocean, Mt. Hood, and the countryside. This townhouse was the ideal launching pad for our adventures. We highly recommend it.

Townhouse was great!

Renting a home for our family vacation to Portland was all new for us and we had a wonderful time. The townhouse was everything the pictures show and we all enjoyed immensely having it as our home base. We were delighted with the beautiful neighborhood and the townhouse itself was bright, clean, cheery and nicely furnished. We were total newbies at this but Michelle was great to work with and we all agreed we that we couldn't have picked a better place for our fist experience renting a vacation home. There was a moment of panic when we arrived in our full sized pickup and saw the size of the garage... but it fit! We had to fold the mirrors in and I stationed a spotter at on each side but by the end of the week we were old pros at docking our big boat. Any car or mid-sized SUV would fit just fine, but -just an FYI- any truck bigger than a Nissan Titan would probably not fit... and there's no parking outside. We would definitely recommend this as an outstanding place to stay in Portland.

Lovely townhome in a great location

We stayed from Jan - mid-March 2013 Overall: We loved it! It was the perfect size and location for us. Kitchen was well furnished with everything we needed. And several things we didn't expect: Like a wok-style frying pan for stir-fry or fajitas. And the new Bar-B-Que! Wonderful! The only challenge for us was the stairs. We are Seniors and felt we were getting a workout. Decor and furnishings are tasteful, with an individual flair. We felt we were invited guests more than renters. Everything was well cared for. Location is perfect. Close to the city -- just over the hill to everything we could want. And close and convenient to Beaverton, where we have family. There is a free commuter bus to the MAX train system that is very easy to use. Locale: We enjoyed many walks to the park and Mill Pond, with it's beautiful fountain. Such a lovely setting. And we had many more days of sunshine than we expected. We recommend this property highly.

Wonderful home, a little nervous with young ones

We stayed at this beautiful townhome for 6 weeks during the summer of 2012. Our two boys are ages five and nine. The home is lovely, the decorations are tasteful and it is a beautiful neighborhood with lots of parks nearby for the kids. We really enjoyed our stay very much. The pictures are a perfect description and Michelle and her husband were helpful both before and during our stay. Our kids did quite well, however I was nervous about the plates, glasses and glass tables as well as some of the decor within their reach. We discussed how things are fragile and they seemed to get it, with reminders. We bought some plastic wear for the kids. I mentioned it to MIchelle and they immediatley supplied us with a bunch of IKEA kids wear, which was wonderful. The glass tables are quite prone to smudges and fingerprints from the little guys, but glass cleaner takes care of this issue. The other issue with the kids is that their bedroom was on a different floor from my husband and me. The Master bedroom is on the top floor and the bedroom with the sliding door is on the main floor. The boys were not too happy about it. They ended up sleeping in the loft a lot of the time because they didn't like to be so far away from us. I think this could be an issue for the younger set. So, overall, I would say this is a great place. However, it is probably the best fit for families with older children.

Felt like home!

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful, one-month stay in this Portland townhome conveniently located in the quiet, upscale Forest Heights neighborhood. Downtown Portland, with its many shopping, dining, and cultural facilities, was just a ten-minute drive away and recreational opportunites were likewise quickly accessible. The rental was very comfortable, nicely decorated, and well-maintained. The listing description and photographs accurately described the unit and amenities. The owner was very helpful and responsive to our inquiries. After every day out and about, we really felt like we were "coming home" when we returned to the condo.

Great apartment in Forest Heights, Portland!

It is our first time renting with HomeAway and we had a very good experience. The property is what you can see and read on the site; its new, well equipped and in a great location. It is on the NW hills and just 15 minutes away from downtown Portland. The owner communicated with us several times before our arrival and made sure we had all the information we needed. We will come to Portland once a year, and our plan is to rent this property again.

We lived in Portland for 25 years, but now we have more time to travel and enjoy our vacation home in Mexico. So, we rent out our townhouse when we are traveling or in Mexico.

Why they chose this property

Our townhouse is very nicely designed and feels much more spacious than it's actual square footage. And, if the sun is shining, it is filled with light. It also has a very nice front deck for a sunset drink and a lovely, shady, secluded patio.

Our minimum rental is 30 nights, but we will consider discounts for longer stays, depending on the length of stay. If you are planning to stay for more than one month, please contact us for pricing before you book. And, always book for at least 31 nights so you will not be charged the local 20% lodging tax, which increases the cost of a month's rental by more than $500. If there is a dfference in your length of stay and the 31 nights, please let us know before you book so we can adjust the total rent accordingly.

What makes this property unique

Our townhouse is in a wonderful section of Portland, the award-winning Forest Heights area, the first 'ecological development' in the Northwest. It is very close to downtown Portland, the Pearl District and the Nobhill area as well as any location on the west side of Portland. Miles of bike trails are just outside our door, plus we are very close to Forest Park, the largest natural city park in the U.S., the Hoyt Arboreatum, the zoo and the Japanese and Rose Gardens.
